EUROPE iXS EUROPEAN DOWNHILL CUP The flagship of the iXS events remains the European Downhill Cup. In its tenth season, the series is still fresh, but established; a little unorthodox, but still high-class; not the World Cup, but somehow pleasantly intimate – pure racing by and with lots of people who simply love the sport! The European series returns to its traditional venues according to the principle “never change a running system”. Das Flaggschiff der iXS Serien ist weiterhin der European Downhill Cup, der nun bereits in seine zehnte Saison gehen wird. Er ist etabliert und trotzdem frisch, etwas punkig, jedoch absolut hochkarätig, nicht der Weltcup, dafür aber familiär – das ist Racing pur, gemacht von Menschen, die diesen Sport lieben! Die Europaserie wird dazu wieder an seine traditionellen Veranstaltungsorte zurückkehren, schließlich laufen die Rennen wir ein gut geschmierter Motor. 8

We will celebrate the beginning of the season in Kransjska Gora, Slovenia. This first race usually is the most interesting and exciting one, partly because of the huge anticipation during the last months, and partly because it is the first opportunity to check out one’s competition after the off-season. Therefore, Kransjska Gora awaits the riders with a real oldschool track: fast, hard and extremely demanding. Kransjska Gora ist der Auftakt der europäischen iXS Downhill Cup Saison. Das erste Rennen ist immer kaum an Spannung zu übertreffen, schließlich weiß keiner so richtig, wo jeder einzelne nach der langen Off-Season einzuordnen ist. WILLINGEN
Das zweite Rennen ist dann gleich der Newcomer des Europacup-Kalenders. Willingen war zwar die letzten beiden Jahre schon wieder Teil der deutschen Rennserie, aber nun ist es soweit, dass man als Teil des Bike Festivals an frühere Zeiten anknüpfen will. Die ehemalige Weltcupstrecke wird für das Rennen etwas modifiziert, so dass sie trotz der eher geringeren Länge absolut Ernst zunehmen sein wird. The second race of the season takes us to a completely new venue of the European Cup. After two years of probation in the German Downhill series, Willingen will host its first iXS EDC race in 2016 as a part of the Bike Festival. SCHLADMING The third race also belongs to the all-time classics: Only one week after the World Cup in Leogang the world’s elite will make their way to Schladming. The former World Cup venue is definitive a legend Not only the date, but also the high popularity of the course will lure numerous riders and visitors to the Planai. Als drittes geht es direkt eine Woche nach dem Weltcup in Leogang ins nur knapp 100 Kilometer entfernte Schladming. Dieser ebenfalls ehemalige Weltcuport ist definitiv eine Legende. Nicht nur die Terminwahl, sondern auch die Beliebtheit der Strecke wird wieder viele der JUNE 16.-18. namhaftesten Fahrer auf den legendären www.bikeparkplanai.at Kurs der Planai locken. SPICAK
The next stop is an old acquaintance. The lovely bike park in the Böhmerwald (Czech Republic) is not any longer an insider tip. It has been a classic venue of the European Cup for already 7 years and will continue this tradition with a new course in 2017. Although the track is not too long or too steep, the rocky character will definitely challenge the riders once again. Weiter geht es bei einem alten Bekannten. Der liebenswerte Bikepark im Böhmerwald in der Tschechischen Republik ist schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr. Bereits seit 7 Jahren macht der Europacup hier Halt und auch in diesem Jahr wird diese Tradition fortgeführt, aber auf einem überarbeiteten Kurs. Last but not least, the agenda takes all the riders to Leogang to collect some final points for the rankings and, of course, to celebrate the last race of the season. The World Cup course is one of the most demanding and unforgiving, and it will require some hard work to earn some last points here. Not exactly the easiest thing to do, but after all everything comes with a price! Man soll dann aufhören wenn es am Schönsten ist, sagt man. GERM iXS GERMAN DOWNHILL CUP The iXS German Downhill Cup is one of the most popular national downhill series in the world. Unfortunately we are missing some hard tracks in Germany, but we came up with some great alternatives! The second race of the series will take us to Brandnertal (AUT) and for the fifth race we will make our way to Klinovec (CZE). After twelve years, the GDC still shines as bright as ever. Der iXS German Downhill Cup gehört unbestritten zu einer der erfolgreichsten nationalen Rennserien weltweit. Leider sind in den letzten Jahren einige der harten Strecken auf deutschem Boden verloren gegangen, aber der German Cup wird sich behelfen, in dem er mit zwei großartigen Alternativen aufwarten kann. Das zweite Rennen der Serie gastiert in Brandnertal (AUT) und das fünfte Rennen übertritt die Grenze in Richtung Klinovec (CZE). Auch in ihrem zwölften Jahr glänzt die Serie wie eh und je. 16

SW iXS SWISS DOWNHILL CUP The oldest member of the iXS family already exists since 2003, and could establish itself with extremely challenging courses and a top class field of starters well beyond national borders. The races will be held in regions which are on top of the to-do lists of all people who love mountains. In 2017 Verbier will again be among the venues of the series, as well as a completely new one with Schönried. iXS ROOKIES CUP The Rookies Cup was introduced first in 2008 as a part of the iXS Downhill Cup. It flourished and grew ever since and became a well established and renowned series over the last few years. With a new titel sponsor the „Specialized Rookies Cup presented by iXS“ will probably get even more attention and continue to prosper in the future. The series invites young riders to 6 different races in Germany and Austria. Seit 2008 startet der Downhill Nachwuchs im Rahmen des Rookies Cup als Teil der iXS Downhill Serien. Damit der Einstieg in das internationale Rennen reibungslos gelingt, sind die Standards und Bedingungen den anderen Rennen im iXS Cup angeglichen.
