New kilometre mark of A-7, now installed where it goes through Sotogrande

Updating, renovation and new figures to rewrite and newly signpost the exits and kilometre numbers of the A-7 Motorway, between Barcelona and Algeciras, which directly affects the normal guidelines and traffic instructions that we have been using for years. The new initiative by the Ministry of Transport has carried out the “change of kilometre marking” of the A-7 Motorway and it modifies the traditional exits in the area.

It is a measure that is aimed at preventing confusion and overlapping as there are similar exits kilometre points involved between the traditional N-340 and the A-7. So the road will now begin in Barcelona and end in the municipality of Algeciras.

Thus, regular exits such as that of San Roque Club which is currently located at kilometre 127 will now move to 1098; while the traditional exit (Malaga direction) of Sotogrande towards Altos de Valderrama, Castellar or the entry towards Supercor is changing from the classic 130 to the new 1094. There is a similar case with the exit towards Puerto Sotogrande and Torreguadiaro, normally acknowledged as 133; which now moves to kilometre and exit 1092.

Somewhat further from Valle del Guadiaro, another of the most significant exists of the A-7 as it goes through Campo de Gibraltar is that of the diversion towards Gibraltar and La Línea de la Concepción, which becomes the 1107.

It involves an investment of over 400,000 Euros which can already be seen in the kilometre marking that large panels (exits, diversions, etc.); will still take a while to update.
