Hamburg fi nishes winter training in Sotogrande

Sotogrande is fashionable in European football. Few destinations on the continent have a temperature and climate as privileged at this time of year as Sotogrande and for several years now, accompanied by its extraordinary sports facilities and infrastructures, it has become a real attraction for football teams from the main European leagues. As we can see in this report, the team from the second division of the German Bundesliga, Hamburg, have been training in recent days at the polo pitches of Los Pinos.

As for Hamburg, they are staying at Hotel SO/ Sotogrande and holding their training sessions between the SPA, fitness area and polo pitches; they are preparing their return to competition with the aim of reaching the highest category of German football, they are currently second in the table and are one of the top hopefuls for promotion.

Among the most outstanding names in the squad, it is worth highlighting the only Spaniard on the side: the Seville de- fender Javi Montero, aged 24 and trained in the lower categories of Atlético de Madrid. Last summer, after two loan spells at Besiktas, the Turkish side eventually gained his services and currently have him on loan at Hamburg.

Other important names in the squad are the international Croatian defender Vuskovic: the Dutch midfielder Ludovit Reis (with past experience in the academy of FC Barcelona) and the attacker Robert Glatzel, a 29-year-old German measuring almost two metres, who already has eleven goals in just 17 league games in the first half of the season.

Over recent years several teams have travelled to Sotogrande, either to train or play a friendly match in Valle del Guadiaro and other areas of Campo de Gibraltar. However, there are many sides who also settle in the resort to hold the period of training during the classic winter break held by leagues from northern and central Europe.
