Drive-Time, Road Trips, Dreams, & Thoughts! This Special Edition of Global One Automotive presents a sneak peek at women, cars, and road trips. In this issue we discover why women specifically love to drive their cars. Women believe that a great car, whether it’s old or new can make her heart rumble with excitement. Along with her drive time experience she likes to include a few road trips. So, in this issue we take a glimpse into her world of Drive-Time, Road Trips, Dreams, & Thoughts, . Women have a specific taste in cars, and it is not a secret that they have different criteria than men when they choose a car. Men count on passionate driving packed in good style (sometimes no matter the expense), women prefer cars which are agile, with good visibility, considerable storage space, which combine practicality and comfort. Moreover, they prefer the car to be fuel-efficient, eco-friendly and at reasonable price. Of course, women have as a core requirement – that their car be safe enough, especially when kids are considered. Another important factor is the car be exciting to drive. And if you think that the most important thing for a woman is how her car looks, well you are wrong. A surprise is that the design comes after the practicality of the vehicle. The 2021 Global One Automotive-Edition: 45 Cars Women Love To Drive highlights the cars, SUVs, and vans that offer the best combination of safety, reliability, space, convenience, and connectivity. Whether you have toddlers or teens we’ve found the cars that can work for you.

How We Found The Cars Women Favored First, we talked to women. Next, we looked at cars, SUVs, and minivans from the 2020 - 2921 model years. Our selection methodology combines professional automotive reviews, safety and reliability ratings, seating and cargo volume, and the availability of family-friendly features. Within each of the chosen automotive classes covered, the vehicle with the highest composite score is named the Cars Women Love To Drive category. Like most everything else, men and women differ in taste and preference when it comes to cars. One can say that while men like cars with power, women, on the other hand, look for a vehicle that’s safe, reliable, and is fuel-efficient. In a survey, when car owners were asked whether they’d buy the same car if they’d have a chance to redo buying one, many women said they would go for another Subaru Forester, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Prius, or Honda Odyssey. Men, as expected, would go to sporty cars like Chevrolet Corvette and many Porsche models. If there’s one car that both men and women like, it’s the Mercedes Benz E Class and the Tesla Model S, but as I observed women in cars during my own drive time and I noticed many young women driving Ford Mustangs. Still, the question remains, what cars do women really like? And why? How come women get to choose the best cars available in the market today? Basically, there is a typical impression that men know more about cars than women. However, according to surveys and consumer reports, women are into hybrid cars more than males. In an owner satisfaction report, it was revealed that women are really good judges when it comes to great cars. It doesn’t matter if the vehicle is an SUV, a luxury car, a wagon, or even a pick-up truck, women know what’s good and what’s better for their families. This is because what women prefer is comprised of every vehicle that got top scores from consumer reports. The same thing cannot be said for men’s choices. To sum things up, women tend to consider many things as well as put attention to the little details. Yes, women pay attention to details that would benefit the family. Given these criteria we have picked forty-five of the most preferred vehicles which are appealing to women for this special automotive edition. We have also included a few photographic road trips, feel good emotions, some healthy food choices, and things that only a woman could love. And because we know women practically live in their cars, they want to experience convenience in their cars, so we have also added a few in the car quick eats that make it easier to drive and eat at the same time. Without further ado, here’s to the woman who wants it all…here’s to the woman whose working day in and day out simply trying to live her best life and along the way are including their families more than ever before. I salute women who love to drive their cars.

2020 HONDA FIT - $17,185. - $20,934.

T

he Honda Fit is affordable and amazingly multitalented. In sports comparison, you could say you get more bang for your bucks. It all starts with the Fit's configurable seats. Honda calls them Magic Seats, and they fold in several ways to accommodate cargo in varying shapes and sizes. For example, you can fold the rear seat bottoms up for transporting tall and skinny items (a TV, for instance) or recline the front passenger seat to store long items like skis and a surfboard. It's a neat trick that makes the Fit feel far more utilitarian than the undersized competition. Acceleration feels energetic around town and gains highway speeds faster than most compact hatchbacks and small crossovers. It's fuelefficient, its easy to match EPA estimates in real-world driving — something that can't be said about many Fit competitors. The Fit's nimble handling is another draw. Small cars naturally sacrifice some comfort, refinement, and features for a budget-friendly price tag, but not the Fit. In my test drive I found that the Fit wrestles a little bit during hard braking, which doesn't inspire confidence during a panic stop. I had my tall six feet-four son to sit in the driver’s seat and he found it a little uncomfortable to his legs, but remember this is a small car, so an upright driving position makes it tough for taller drivers to find a comfortable spot. If you want a few creature comforts you should find the midlevel Sport trim appealing. It replaces the steel wheels with wheel covers with true alloys, adds two more speakers, and includes a touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. Taller drivers will appreciate the Fit Sport since it's the most well-equipped Fit without a headroom-reducing sunroof. But they'll need to go up a level to the EX if you want advanced driving aids such as lane departure warning and forward collision warning. The Fit LX has 15-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, height-adjustable driver's seat, a 5-inch central display screen, and a four-speaker audio system. You also get the Fit's so-called Magic Seats. They consist of a fully reclining front passenger seat and a 60/40-split folding rear seat, and they can be positioned in a number of configurations. The Sport trim adds some sporty styling highlights as well as 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Sport's infotainment system is a 7-inch touchscreen interface that Honda Fit supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a six-speaker sound system and, with the CVT, wheel-mounted shift paddles that simulate gearshifts. Step up to the EX and the Fit receives a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, and extendable sun visors. It also adds the Honda Sensing suite of active safety features, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and intervention, a blind-spot camera, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. At the top of the Fit range, the EX-L brings heated side mirrors, heated front seats and leather upholstery. A woman can ride a very long time in this one and forget she’s in a car.

2021 HONDA CIVIC - $22,245. - $28,100.

T

he unpretentious Honda Civic has flourished into a desirable and fun-to-drive car. Available as either a sedan or a convenient hatchback, the Civic is powered by your choice of a 158-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder or a turbocharged 1.5-liter that makes up to 180 horsepower. The Honda Civic is loaded with plenty of standard driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Infotainment features in the base LX model comes with a tiny touchscreen that offers radio tuning. The Civic is a compact car that should satisfy most women who drive. The Honda Civic Sport hatchback is spacious and comes with a slightly more powerful, 180-hp version of the turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is optional on those models. Going with the Sport over the base LX also unlocks a load of equipment, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, an eight-speaker stereo system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, push-button start, fog lamps, and a rear-seat fold-down armrest. The Civics’ four-cylinder engines are energetic, vibrant, and peppy all at the same time. It’s pricier and more powerful—turbocharged version earns our thumbs up. It's a terrific engine that we found readily pulled our Civic Touring test car away from stoplights. While we prefer the light and crisp action of the six-speed manual to the optional continuously variable automatic transmission, the CVT is by no means a weak companion—in fact, it's one of the best on the market. A true jack-of-all-trades, the Civic strikes a great balance between comfort and driver commitment. Its smooth ride, reactive steering, and athletic driving dynamics make it a joy to drive. Neither soft nor hard, the Civics’ ride quality is just right. Quick, well weighted, and surprisingly agile steering makes the Civic enjoyable. Those looking for even sportier vibes should consider the Sport versions, which feature quicker steering. The brakes possess a firm brake pedal with good feel and decent stopping prowess. Honda proves that power and fuel efficiency need not be mutually exclusive. Both of the Civic four-cylinders sip fuel as lightly but, interestingly, the more powerful turbocharged engine manages to return slightly better fuel economy than the base 2.0-liter found in lower-level Civic sedans. Practical and modern in appearance, the Civic's interior offers sufficient storage space. The entry-level model is spacious and accommodating. While it doesn't offer the biggest comfort-and-convenience equipment we have to remember that it is a compact vehicle reserved for those that desire a compact car. And it has enough of the good stuff for any small-car shopper. The interior of both the sedan and hatchback is roomy. The Civic has a number of cleverly designed storage cubbies throughout its cabin, and the sedan's trunk is one of the biggest in the class. If you need even more cargo-carrying capability you should check out the hatchback model.

2021 MAZDA 3 SEDAN - $20,650. - $32,600.

T

he 2021 Mazda 3 is one of the more entertaining small sedans around. That's particularly true for this year since Mazda has introduced a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Borrowed from the Mazda CX-5 and CX-9 SUVs, this engine produces 227 hp and a stout 310 lb.-ft of torque (250 hp and 320 lb.-ft on 93 octane gasoline). It comes standard with all-wheel drive, too.

The turbocharged model is undoubtedly the one to get if you want a speedy Mazda 3. But this isn't a revival of the Mazdaspeed 3. An American classic, last seen in 2013, upgraded the standard 3 with a turbocharged engine, a sport-tuned suspension and a six-speed manual transmission. The new Mazda 3's turbocharged engine is automatic-only and doesn't come with any other performance upgrades, but its effortless thrust and impressive refinement are nice complements to the car's steady handling and premium design. Still, athleticism and good looks only get you so far. Compared to the Honda Civic, Kia Forte and Subaru Impreza, the Mazda 3 comes up short when it comes to rear passenger and cargo space. But there's more than enough good here to make it worth checking out, especially if you enjoy a small car with extra oomph. If a 2021 Mazda 3 shows up when you call your next Uber, we'd forgive you for confusing the Editors' Choice winner with a far more expensive Audi or BMW as you settle into the passenger's seat. Mazda often straddles the line between mainstream and luxury, and it pays off in its bread-and-butter hatchback, particularly in the swanky Premium and Premium Plus trims. A trio of four-cylinder engines are on the menu, as is all-wheel drive. The 3 continues to be one of the most refined and athletic compact cars on sale today, with hightech infotainment and driver-assistance features that provide a class-above experience. That said, adding those features may drive the 3's price beyond what buyers in this segment are willing to pay, giving mainstream stalwarts like the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic an edge. Mazda has added two engines to the 3's lineup this year, including a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that's available on the top trims. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the base model now comes with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Otherwise, the 2021 model year is marked by some shuffling of equipment between the trims. For example, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12speaker Bose stereo system are no longer standard on the mid-range Preferred trim, but it does gain a power sunroof. The 3 hatchback is tempting because of its distinct appearance, but the hatch's bulbous backside compromises visibility. Instead, we'd stick with the sedan. Those who want all-wheel drive can add it for $1400 on most trims. When you select the Preferred trim level, you get standard features such as heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings. Mazda offers three different four-cylinder engines with the 3, starting with a 2.0-liter on the base sedan. It makes 155 horsepower and comes only with front-wheel drive. Moving up to the 186-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder unlocks the optional all-wheel-drive system, but we're most excited by the 250-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter. Buyers can get a six-speed manual but only if they stick with front-wheel drive. Opting for the all-wheel drive system mandates a six-speed automatic transmission. While every 3 responds quickly to gas-pedal inputs, neither of the nonturbo models is particularly quick. We haven't tested the new turbocharged engine, but we expect to see big improvements in performance over the other two. Both the hatchback and sedan feel composed on straight and twisty roads and provide a refined ride quality. We've praised the new Mazda3 for retaining the fun-to-drive nature of the outgoing model. It has tight body control, natural-feeling steering, and a firm ride that manages not to punish occupants when going over rough roads.

2021 GENESIS G70 - $35,450. - $47,245.

T

he 2021 Genesis G70 aims for luxury sports sedan prowess with an unbeatable price tag—and it delivers without question. The G70 balances ride refinement and handling prowess in the way that makes the BMW 3-series and the Mercedes-Benz Cclass so desirable—but both of those cost thousands more to start. Inside, the G70's cabin offers a delightfully refined design and a host of standard convenience features. The rear seat passenger space isn't as spacious as some of its rivals' and its infotainment interface is in need of an update, but otherwise, it's difficult to find fault with what is an overall woman-loving package. The G70 sees few changes for 2021, (a heated steering wheel, adaptive headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, ventilated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, and a wireless smartphone charging pad) have been made standard for all models equipped with the twin-turbo V-6 engine. The base G70 2.0T features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sends 252 horsepower (255 on the manual) through an eightspeed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. While all-wheel drive is optional on most models, the manual version we tested is the exception. Its engine felt reserved around town, and acceleration times were ordinary. The light clutch pedal and numb shifter engagement also tempered our excitement. However, our heart skipped a beat when we got behind the wheel of the twin-turbo 3.3liter V-6 model, with its 365 ponies and 376 lb-ft of torque. The rear-drive 3.3T impressed me by the engine's wave of thrust that sent it from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds in our testing. Regardless of the powertrain configuration, the G70 has expertly balanced ride and handling characteristics. Its suspension smoothed out uneven surfaces, and the sedan remained composed during spirited cornering sessions. The more powerful 3.3T has the benefit of adaptive dampers that allow the driver to firm up the ride if necessary, but every G70 we've driven did a remarkable job of sending information to the driver's hands. Its steering feedback is precise and pleasant, with adjustable effort available by switching among the multiple drive modes. The all-wheel-drive 3.3T is rated, at 17 mpg city and 25 highway; the rear-drive 2.0T with the automatic transmission is the most efficient, at 22 mpg city and 30 highway. In our drive time the results were very similar—despite the 3.3T's significant power advantage. The rear-wheel-drive 3.3T we tested earned 29 mpg. The manual 2.0T recorded 30 mpg, and the automatic 2.0T with allwheel drive got 31 mpg. Inside, the G70 delivers a luxury experience, thanks to attractive materials and excellent build quality. Its driver-centric layout and straightforward controls cater to driving enthusiasts. Likewise, the upscale brightwork and decoratively stitched surfaces on our test car appeased our affluent side. Genesis also keeps things classy by avoiding the urge to plaster faux carbon-fiber bits and a flat-bottom steering wheel into the cabin, and the result is an interior that seems luxurious. While the front seat strikes a nice balance between comfort and sport, the rear seat is compromised by limited legroom. We fit five carry-on bags in the G70's trunk, and 14 total with the rear seat folded. Interior cubby storage includes a useful tray at the front of the center console that is perfect for smartphones and other small items. The door pockets are small in comparison to others.

2021 BMW 3 SERIES - $42,245. - $57,695.

T

he 2021 BMW 3-series epitomizes the modern sports sedan with its comprehensive performance and innate sophistication. It offers two gas engines–a 255-hp four-cylinder and a 385-hp straight-six–that’s quick and refined. There's also a plug-in hybrid. The perceptive eight-speed automatic is very worthy, What's more, the 3's fantastic chassis can seamlessly shift from calm to frisky at the blink of an eye. The steering—although improved over the previous generation's—still lacks the tactility that enthusiasts once idolized. The 2021 3-series has as an entry-level premium sedan with ample cabin and trunk space. The M340i packs the most performance. Those who want all-wheel drive can add it for $2000. The M Sport package brings unique styling bits, and a specially tuned suspension. The Premium package has blind-spot monitoring, hands-free passive entry, head-up display, heated steering wheel, larger touchscreen, and more. The Track Handling package optimizes the sedan's driving dynamics via adaptive dampers and upgraded brakes. Affordable options include the Harman/Kardon sound system, heated front and rear seats, remote start, power-operated trunk lid, and a Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging. The 3-series offers two potent gas-powered engines. The 330i features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M340i pairs with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that produces 385 ponies and 369 pound-feet. The 330e plug-in hybrid combines a turbo 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor that together generate 288 horses and 310 pound-feet. Each powertrain pairs with an exceptional eight-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive. The manual gearbox is no longer available. Buyers can choose between two suspension setups on the 3: the base arrangement or the upgrade with adaptive dampers. Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG: The EPA estimates the four-cylinder 330i earns 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. The more powerful six-cylinder M340i has ratings that top out at 23 mpg city and 32 highway. The rear-drive, plug-in-hybrid variant has a combined estimate of 28 mpg and an all-electric range of 23 miles. Both figures drop by 3 for the all-wheel-drive PHEV. Nothing feels cheap inside the 3-series, and its controls are well placed. BMW also improved outward visibility, and the standard sport seats are well-bolstered and supportive, and they offer extensive adjustment so it's easy to get comfortable. The car's extra-cost content includes a detailed head-up display, customizable ambient interior lighting, heated front and rear seats, remote start, and wireless charging.. The 3-series has a big trunk with an available power-operated lid. With 17 cubic feet of cargo space, the gaspowered sedan can fit six carry-on suitcases back there and 17 total with the rear row folded. The standard infotainment system runs through an 8.8-inch touchscreen, but the interface can also be controlled with a large knob and buttons on the console or with voice commands. The Live Cockpit Plus suite of features, which includes navigation, is standard. For the really good stuff, you'll need to spring for the similarly named Live Cockpit Pro package, which increases the size of the touchscreen to 10.3 inches and gives you the latest and most capable iteration of BMW's iDrive system. A subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot is optional, but the sedan does come with two USB ports. Apple CarPlay integration is standard but Android Auto is not available. One interesting option is BMW's Gesture Control, which allows the driver or passenger to input certain commands with hand gestures. It's more novel than helpful, but your passengers will love it.

2021 AUDI A4 - $39,100. - $49,800.

T

he 2021 Audi A4 compact luxury sports sedan is easy to like and hard to fault: It's handsomely styled, well-built, and loaded with options. It handles like a sport sedan and delivers an enjoyable ride. Technology takes center stage in the A4, with Audi's cool Virtual Cockpit digital gauge display, a new 12-volt hybrid system, and a host of driver-assistance feature. Audi's Quattro allwheel-drive system is standard across the board. This year Audi is dropping a 12-volt hybrid system into both of the car's four-cylinder powertrains. The system adds 13-hp to each engine. The all-wheel drive is now standard across the lineup. Wireless Apple CarPlay capability is new for 2021 as is an integrated toll-road transponder. The lane-departure warning is now standard. The base Premium trim's optional convenience package has a heated steering wheel and front and rear parking sensors. The mid-range Premium Plus trim now comes with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree exterior camera system. The top-spec Prestige model gains heated rear seats as a standard feature. standard across the board, a feature its chief competitors charge extra for. The mid-range Premium Plus trim represents the best cost-benefit ratio in the A4 lineup as it adds a host of features that make the car an upscale ride. Included are a reconfigurable digital gauge display, a wireless charging pad, memory settings for the driver's seat, blind-spot monitoring, and keyless entry with push-button start. We'd suggest the more powerful 45 powertrain—it makes 60 more horsepower than the 40—and it's a relatively inexpensive $1300 upgrade. Engine, Transmission, and Performance: Audi offers the A4 in two strengths: 40 and 45. Both are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a 12-volt hybrid system and all-wheel drive; the 40 makes 201-hp while the 45 makes a juicy 261. A seven-speed automatic is the only transmission. The A4 45 I test drove rose to 60 mph in a quick 4.8 seconds, and its automatic smoothly changed gears. Precise steering, well-controlled body motions, and strong roadholding combine to make the A4 a sharp handler. Usually, cars with such deft responses require sacrifices in ride quality, but the A4 manages to soak up bumpy roads with aplomb. Steering feel, so important in a sedan with sporting overtones, is subdued at lower speeds and on the highway. However, almost as if by magic, the steering is communicative when the car has to manipulate twisty roads. The A4's modern-looking cabin does a good job of balancing form and function with high-quality materials and easily accessible technology features. The dashboard design is clean and simplistic. Most of the A4's buttons and switches are right where you want them to be and feel substantial when you use them. The rear seat is among the most spacious in its class and features nicely shaped cushions. As with many of the sedans in the entry-luxury class, the A4 is accommodating but choose the A4 Allroad wagon if you need more cargo space. The A4's back seat does fold in a useful 40/20/40 split, making it easy to accommodate longer items such as surf boards. The A4's infotainment system consists of a 10.1-inch center screen that's controlled by a rotary knob on the center console. Features are generous and include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, Bluetooth, two USB ports, and voice command. Navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and in-car Wi-Fi are included in various option packages, as is a more powerful Bang & Olufsen audio system with 19 speakers. A cool digital gauge display that Audi calls Virtual Cockpit is optional, that I recommend it highly.

2021 TOYOTA CAMRY - $24,970 - $35,545.

T

he Toyota Camry has gone from a fantastic family sedan to anonymous four-door and now back to its prestigious glory. That's right. The Toyota is once again a truly desirable option in a segment that's still highly competitive. Credit its diverse powertrain platter for its mass appeal. There's a economical four-cylinder, more inexpensive hybrid option, and a strong V-6. Those who prefer a stylish family sedan, with driver assists and popular features galore will love this vehicle. Toyota only makes small changes to the 2021 Camry lineup. Inside, there's new tablet-like touchscreens that measure either 7.0 or 9.0 inches. The sporty XSE model is now available with the hybrid powertrain, and the luxurious XLE gets new leather upholstery. Every Camry receives enhanced driver assists, including technology that better recognizes bicyclists and pedestrians. The spiciest Camry of the bunch is the tuned-up TRD model. It's available with the 301-hp V-6 and eight-speed automatic. It has a racier body kit—complete with a discrete rear spoiler and a pair of prominent exhaust tips—the sedan sports a retuned suspension that's 0.6 inches lower than on the regular models. It has larger front brake rotors and black 18-inch rims that can be had with allseason or summer tires. The Camry TRD is engaging to drive. The standard four-cylinder engine pairs with a eight-speed automatic; a less powerful version of that engine works with a battery and two electric motors to power the Camry hybrid. The Camry is a controlled ride with responsive handling. The steering is pleasantly weighted and feels substantial cornering and maneuvering in tight spaces. The most efficient nonhybrid Camry models are the LE and SE with the four-cylinder engine, which earned EPA estimates of 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway; the base LE hybrid earned ratings of 51 mpg city and 53 mpg highway. A four-cylinder Camry SE returned 45 mpg in our highway test, beating its own EPA rating by 6 mpg—and making it the most economical nonhybrid car we've ever tested. The Camry interior, comfort, and cargo in the XLE and the SE trim are both spacious and comfortable, and the XLE is downright luxurious. The Camry is a large sedan, and there's plenty of cargo space and interior storage in both its trunk and in its cabin with the rear seat folded. Toyota relocated the Camry hybrid's battery from the trunk to beneath the rear seats, so hybrid owners don't have to sacrifice carrying capacity for the extra mpg. Toyota's touchscreen infotainment system—called Entune 3.0—is standard across the Camry lineup, with an enhanced version available as an option. Entune has loads of features and responded reasonably well to user inputs in our tests, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard. The 2021 Camry earned a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Women applaud Toyota's decision to make driver-assistance technology standard across its lineup.

2021 BMW / M550i - $54,200. - $76,800.

he 2021 BMW 550i offers quiet luxury and handsome styling. The 2021 BMW 5-series sedan could very well be the answer. Its spacious and plush cabin is a pleasant place to spend your commute, and BMW offers a host of powertrain options to suit your needs, be they fuel efficiency or roaring V-8 performance. A facelift for 2021 brings sharper exterior styling that gives the 5series an even more upscale appearance, and several tech upgrades should keep it in the fight against key rivals such as the Audi A6, the Genesis G80, and the Mercedes-Benz E-class.

T

The mid-range 540i continues to be the best value in the 5-series lineup, offering a nice balance of performance and comfort. This model comes standard with rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. The available Convenience package seems like a wise add-on, as it includes heated front seats, a power-operated trunk lid, and remote start. To unlock the 5-series's advanced semi-autonomous driving tech, go for the Driving Assistance Plus package. Smooth, powerful, and efficient, both the four-cylinder in the 530i and the six-cylinder in the 540i motivate this big sedan with authority. For 2021, the 540i's powertrain gains a little extra boost, care of a 48-volt hybrid system, which we have not yet tested. Each pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission that shifts intuitively and quickly, making the most of the available power. The 540i's six-cylinder is silky smooth and potent, and it makes delightful noises. Apart from the top-dog M5, which we review separately, the M550i is the athlete of the lineup, with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 under its hood. In our testing, the M550i sprinted through our acceleration runs quicker than the Audi S6 and Mercedes-AMG E53, hitting 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. All 5-series models are competent handlers, but they lack the kind of driving verve we expect from BMW. Steering feedback is light, and the ride—even in the performance-oriented M550i—appears to be tuned more for comfort than pure driving pleasure. The EPA estimates the four-cylinder 530i will earn up to 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The six-cylinder 540i is rated at up to 25 mpg city and 32 highway. The more powerful V-8 M550i lowers those to 17 mpg city and 25 highway. All three of the models we tested overachieved in our real-world testing; the 530e delivered 34 mpg while the 540i and M550i did 31 mpg and 28 mpg, respectively. For more information about the 5-series's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. Rich appointments and good design make the cockpit of the 5-series a civilized space. It's a noticeable upgrade compared with the somewhat drab cabin of its predecessor. It's also spacious for rear-seat passengers and features an impressive amount of technology. We've experienced the optional 20-way multi-contour front seats, which adjust in every way imaginable and provide hours of comfort. The standard seats might not be as indulgent, but you can still adjust them in 16 ways. The BMW's large trunk space is on par with what its competitors offer, fitting six carry-on suitcases back there. That said, the cabin is lacking in cubbies and storage compartments. To accommodate the battery pack, the plug-in-hybrid 530e has four less cubic feet of trunk space than nonhybrid models and swallow two fewer carry-on suitcases, but at least it retains its folding rear seats, unlike many other hybrids.

2021 HYUNDAI GENESIS G80 - $47,700. - $66,125.

T

he 2021 Genesis G80 builds on the groundwork laid by its predecessors, offering more technology, driving aids and luxury features than ever before. Genesis has also given it the quad headlight design and large grille that it first introduced on the new GV80 SUV and refreshed G90 large sedan. The G80 is powered by your choice of two engines. The previously standard V6 has been replaced by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder producing 300 horsepower. For more power, there's a new turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional for the latest G80. From its unique double headlights and gigantic pentagonal grille to its slippery bodywork and sloping roofline, the all-new 2021 Genesis G80 is a rolling beauty. The shapely sedan is inspired by the company's new GV80 SUV, which also looks the part of a high-class luxury vehicle without the high-end price tag. Both entries are Genesis' attempt to usher in a new era and increase its cachet as a burgeoning luxury brand. The G80 slots in between the smaller G70 and the larger G90 sedans, and it's expected to compete with mid-size luxury. It's a pretty compelling package. The most popular among the various trim levels appears to be the 2.5T Advanced, which adds several high-end features that easily justify the price increase over the standard car. The Advance trim comes standard with 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, a power trunk-lid, and a 21-speaker Lexicon stereo system. All G80s come with rear-wheel drive as standard but all-wheel drive is available for an extra fee. The entry-level G80 comes with a standard turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that makes 300 horsepower. Buyers seeking quicker acceleration will want to opt for the more powerful twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 with 375 horsepower. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or all-wheel drive. While we haven't had the chance to test the V-6 model, the turbocharged four-cylinder snapped off a perky 5.7-second zero-to-60-mph time at our test track. The G80 provides a relaxed ride, effortless steering, and dutiful brakes, but it doesn't feel as athletic as some rivals. The EPA estimates the 2021 G80 with the base four-cylinder engine will earn up to 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Opting for the more powerful twin-turbo V-6 brings ratings of 19 mpg city and 27 highway. Once we have the opportunity to run one on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen, we can evaluate its real-world mpg. With its primary focus as a luxury car, the G80 offers a properly upscale interior. Its cabin showcases an elegant design with a streamlined dashboard, soft-touch surfaces, and rich-looking materials. The steering wheel has an rotary shift knob near other circular-shaped controls. The sedan offers a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, ambient interior lighting, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and more. The new G80 has more headroom and legroom than the outgoing model. A huge 14.5-inch touchscreen sprouts from the top of the dashboard and acts as the hub for the G80's infotainment system. The display can be manipulated via a circular controller on the center console as well as buttons on the steering wheel and voice commands. The Genesis sedan offers a host of driver-assistance technology as well as a cool feature called Smart Park. The system allows the driver to maneuver the car in and out of tight parking spot without actually being at the controls.

2021 LEXUS ES 350 - $40,000- 49,990.

T

He 2021 Lexus ES is a sedate offering in a segment dominated by legitimate sports sedans. It delivers what some luxury car buyers are looking for in terms of comfort, ride quality, and effortless cruising capability. Three powertrains are offered: A V-6 engine with 302-hp, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with all-wheel drive, or a hybrid setup that delivers fantastic fuel economy. As for luxury, the ES's cabin is a wonderful space that's lined with fine materials, supportive seats, and plenty of technology features and connectivity options. What's the downside? For the price of an entry-level Audi A6 or Mercedes-Benz E-class you can have a wellloaded ES—which makes it an unbeatable value in this highly competitive segment. Lexus is adding the ES250 to the ES lineup this year, which is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and comes standard with all-wheel drive. Like Lexus' RX SUV, the ES sedan also receives a Black Line Special Edition package for 2021. Based on the F Sport model, the Black Line package adds black exterior trim, a black lip spoiler, a white interior, and a two-piece matching luggage set from Zero Halliburton. Elsewhere, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is now standard on Ultra Luxury and F Sport models, a new Rich Cream interior color is available, and Lexus's Enform Safety Connect suite of connectivity features—including onboard Wi-Fi— is now standard across the entire range. The 2021 Lexus ES gives buyers a choice of three powertrains. The ES250 is powered by a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and comes standard with all-wheel drive. All ES350 trims come with a 3.5-liter V-6 that generates 302 horsepower and is governed by an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. With all ES350h trims, motivation comes from a hybrid powertrain that provides a net output of 215 horsepower; a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive are standard. The gas-only ES350 sprinted from a standstill to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. The all-wheel drive ES250 and the hybrid ES350h both made the dash in a more leisurely 8.1 and 8.3 seconds, respectively. This Lexus sedan exhibits the composed handling and forgiving ride quality that's cherished by many luxury-car shoppers. For those seeking keener handling, the F Sport trim adds larger wheels and suspension tuning that's more performance oriented. Even with this upgrade, though, the ES is less athletic than competing models such as the BMW 5-series. With its stylish, asymmetrical dash and high-quality materials, the ES's cabin creates a plush environment for passengers. Both rows offer enough legroom for the long-legged, and the seats provide comfortable support. Notably, the cabin is unfailingly peaceful, even when the ES is being driven at highway speeds. Both gas-only and hybrid models provide 17.0 cubic feet of room in the trunk, and this gives the ES more cargo space than rivals such as the Volvo S90 (14.0 cubic feet) and Acura TLX (14.0 cubic feet). Unfortunately, the ES isn't available with a folding rear seat. This makes it difficult for this Lexus to accommodate outsize cargo.

2021 CHEVROLET MALIBU LT - $22,140. - $33,370.

T

he 2021 Chevy Malibu has two different turbocharged four-cylinder engines are offered - a 1.5-liter and a more potent 2.0-liter— paired up to either a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) or a nine-speed automatic; front-wheel drive is the only choice.. Touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard but Chevy requires adding option packages to unlock the Malibu's available driver-assistance features—something many of its rivals offer as standard. The Malibu rolls into the new model year without any substantive updates. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto join the standardfeatures list this year and a Sport Edition appearance package is newly available on the LT trim. The Sport Edition package adds black Chevrolet logos on the grille and trunk lid, a black grille, and 19-inch black wheels. General Motors's new Buckle-to-Drive feature now comes on every Malibu model and requires that the driver's seatbelt is secured before the transmission will shift out of park. The LT trim comes with more standard features than the lowly L and LS. The LT comes standard with the Malibu's 160-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine—the more powerful 2.0-liter engine is reserved for the top-level Premier—as well as 17-inch wheels, LED taillights, an acoustically laminated windshield, remote engine starting, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. If driverassistance features such as blind-spot monitoring, automated emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist are on your list of must-haves, the Driver Confidence I and Driver Confidence II packages add those features and more. In terms of EPA fuel-mileage estimates, the Malibu's smallest engine underperforms in comparison to its rivals base powertrains in the Accord and the Toyota Camry. The Malibu's 2.0-liter turbo engine, however, has thoroughly competitive government ratings compared with the optional powerplants in the Honda and Toyota, but we haven't tested its real-world fuel economy. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine managed a respectable 34 mpg over the course of our 200-mile highway fuel-economy test route. The Malibu's interior is very comfortable and ergonomically friendly. The cabin has competitive passenger space and options. The Malibu's symmetrical dashboard and the large opening beneath the center stack make the cockpit feel spacious. The front seats have a wide base and supportive side bolsters. The back seat has less legroom than the Honda Accord's back seat, but it still fit adult frames. The Malibu boasts a big trunk with ample carry-on capacity. Chevy fits every Malibu with its excellent infotainment system that includes many of today's most desirable options -Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. The touchscreen interface is easy to interpret too.

2021 CADILLAC CT5V - $36,895. - $49,695.

L

aunched recently in 2020, the 2021 Cadillac CT5-V sports sedan is unsurprisingly a carry-over from its 2020 model. Let alone some significant updates of some tech and gadgetry. Also noteworthy is the fact that a CT5-V Blackwing with a 650hp 6.2liter V8 is also coming soon in 2021. This could be the same V8 seen in the 2021 Escalade, but in a higher tune.

The CT5-V is the mid-tier model of the all-new CT5 family which recently replaced the earlier CTS. Sleek and edgy exteriors, potent engine options, spacious and modern interiors along with a light foot makes the CT5 a good package for the buck. The CT5 -V though, adds some extra athleticism, power and aggression to this package with a powerful V6 and performance -tuned mechanics. Apart from all the chiseling and fine-tuning with their recent launches, Cadillac also diversified its lineup similar to those of its arch rivals, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The diversification is very evident in the positioning and powertrain options with the compact sports sedan. We are talking about the performance, everyday comfort and maneuverability. Though it has evolved in terms of interior arrangement and quality but still feels lingering behind the best in the market. H owever, its tech and safety suite has taken a significant leap compared to its predecessor. It's not as furious as the 650 hp CT5 -V Blackwing nor as humble as its base models. Talk about the sweet blend of a punchy V6 engine, compact proportions and enhanced h andling over the CTS makes the CT5-V a very good package for the buck. At a starting MSRP of $47,795, the 2021 CT5-V stands pretty confident against the likes of BMW M340i, Audi S4 and Mercedes-AMG C 43 sedan. the basic CT5 sedan gets a 2.0-liter turbo pot, the 2021 CT5-V is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the engine makes 360 hp and 405 lb-fts of torque. No dearth of power and the turbo V6 has plenty of grunt into it. Not something really exhilarating but the V6’s wide torque band along with a healthy mid-reserve does allow you to play with it. At startups, you do get a slight hint of turbo lag, but once you are past 30-40 mph, the engine gets in its full glory. The 10-speed automatic though is not as refined as one in an Audi A5 and you will feel the gearbox a bit reluctant towards downshifts. However, for most of the time, the transmission remains compliant and smooth. Though Cadillac claims that the new CT5 is more fun to drive than its predecessor, the basic CT5 doesn't feel as exciting as the CTS. However, the performance-tuned CT5-V stands out with its helpful character. First up under normal city conditions, the CT5-V rewards you with a comfortable and serene ride. The suspension is neither too firm nor too floaty and soaks up road undulations pretty well. Even the throttle response seems linear and smooth with no fuss or fumble. However, switch track mode and things change pretty quickly. The suspension stiffens up and the throttle response gains an instant aggression. Though the ride in this extreme setting gets a bit rough, it's compensated by a lighter steering, better maneuver ability and stronger composure. In track mode, the CT5-V feels more confident and playful around corners but doesn't provide the same confidence as an Alfa-Romeo Giulia.

2021 AUDI A7 - $70,245. - $81,245.

T

he 2021 Audi A7 blurs the line between sedan and hatchback with its sleek profile and refined nature. Its turbocharged V-6 powertrain and standard all-wheel drive has quick acceleration and four-season traction. The Audi has quiet cabin space that boasts cutting-edge technology and countless luxuries. While most of this content is found on the A6 sedan, the A7's fastback profile and extra cargo space make it both more visually distinct and more practical. Like the A6, the fastback A7 offers sophisticated road manners and is capable of delighting drivers when the road ahead starts to spiral. The 2021 A7 is a hybrid model. The hybrid powertrain consists of a turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor that together combine for 362 horsepower. The A7 PHEV will be capable of electric-only motoring, but Audi hasn't yet released details on the car's range. Besides the new PHEV model, Audi has made the smallest of changes to the 2021 A7 lineup. 20-inch wheels with all-season tires are standard on the base model. The Convenience package adds a top-view camera system. The mid-level Premium Plus comes standard with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. The top Prestige model gets a newly optional Sport package that includes 21-inch wheels on summer tires and the adaptive steel suspension. The Plus comes standard with adaptive cruise control, Audi's virtual cockpit (a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster), headlights with snazzier Matrix-design accents and automatic high-beams, futuristic-looking taillight animations, a high-end Bang & Olufsen sound system, and lane-keeping assist. The Premium Plus has heated front seats, leather upholstery, a power-operated hatchback, and a panoramic sunroof. The A7's standard powertrain is a turbocharged V-6 that makes 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. That power is delivered through a seven-speed automatic transmission. The A7's standard V-6 powertrain also uses a 48-volt hybrid-assist system that minimizes turbo lag and aids stop/start operation. Its all-wheel-drive system provides excellent traction in wet and dry conditions. Audi expertly blends luxury and agility on the A7. Its supple suspension was equally successful at limiting body motions and maximizing smoothness. The steering response was in line with adjustable heft available in different drive modes. The EPA estimates the 2021 A7 with the six-cylinder engine will earn 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. The plug-in-hybrid A7 has a combined rating of 29 mpg (5 mpg higher than the nonhybrid's combined estimate), and it has an electric-only range of 24 miles. The V-6-powered Audi we tested greatly exceeded its highway rating, earning an impressive 36 mpg on our 75-mph fuel-economy route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen. The CLS also returned 36 mpg on the highway. The A7's interior is highlighted by attractive materials and sturdy switchgear. Every cabin has ambient interior lighting, heated front seats, leather seating surfaces, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, and more. The A7 provides a satisfying driving position that is complemented by excellent outward visibility. Rear-seat passengers receive climate controls, power points for charging devices, and heated seats are optional. The back seat accommodates two adults. Underneath the A7's power-operated liftback, we fit seven carry-on bags behind its split-folding rear seat. The car held 20 bags of luggage with the seats folded flat. A golf bag and stroller fit in the cargo area. The front door pockets are narrow, and the center console has a small bin.

2020 KIA K900 - $60,935. - $69,700.

T

he 2020 K900 is Kia's flagship sedan, and it shares its underpinning design with the Genesis G90. Although Kia isn't a traditional luxury brand, the Korean manufacturer is marketing this large sedan to buyers on the hunt for premium transportation. In many ways, the K900 is a credible and appealing choice within its segment. It provides driving dynamics that are smooth and composed, and its cabin is an oasis of comfort. It’s hard to argue with the K900's value proposition. In the wake of its 2019 redesign, the Kia K900 carries over for the 2020 model year with no notable changes. Unfortunately, Kia's flagship sedan will be discontinued after this model year. The base model rides on 19-inch wheels, and it comes with standard exterior features such as rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic LED headlights, daytime running lights, fog lamps, and heated power-folding sideview mirrors with integrated turn signals and an auto-dimming capability. Once inside the cabin, there are standard features: power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and push-button ignition, a head-up display, dual-zone automatic climate control, and nappa leather upholstery. A standard sunroof lets natural light into the cabin. All models come with a complete selection of driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring and a surround-view camera. The 2020 Kia K900 gets its motivation from a turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6 powerplant. This engine generates 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission governs the proceedings. All models come with all-wheel drive for improved traction on roadways that are slippery from rain or snow. Tthe K900 made the dash from a zero to 60 mph in a respectable 5.0 seconds. In every-day driving, this full-size sedan exhibits the poised composure valued by buyers of luxury cars. The K900 comes standard with a drive-mode feature that allows you to tailor the car's performance to suit your preferences. The list of available settings includes Comfort, Smart, Sport, Eco, and Custom. Within the Custom menu, you can adjust parameters such as steering weight, engine responsiveness, and the amount of engine sound piped through the car's cabin speakers. When it comes to overall design, the K900's interior can best be described as adequate. the car's cabin is luxurious and offers impressive comfort. Both rows of seats provide great legroom for passengers; the driver's seat delivers 20-way adjustability and the soothing support of a lounge chair. Available options raise the bar even further, with amenities such as power-adjustable rear seats and three-zone automatic climate control. This Kia provides 15.3 cubic feet of room in its trunk. The standard infotainment system features a large 12.3-inch touchscreen, is equipped with Bluetooth phone and streaming audio. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are on board for easy device integration, and a standard navigation system helps you plan a path to your destination. 2021 MERCEDES S-CLASS - $110,850. - $132,450.

T

he new S-Class interior represents a significant shift from previous models. The broad dashboard top gives the impression that it starts at the hood before gracefully cascading down to a center console dominated by a large vertical touchscreen. Mercedes eliminated 27 switches and buttons from the last generation S-Class, leaving a sleek and modern cockpit, but one that may cause more distractions if you prefer using the touchscreen for basic audio and climate control functions. The virtual instrument panel looks similar to other displays in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, but it features a visually stunning 3D effect. To the driver's eyes, it looks as though the gauges are floating upright, while the information panel between them is set farther back or flat while in map mode. It may not be all that useful, but it certainly turns up the wow factor. The entire cabin is outlined with sharp multicolor ambient lighting that sets the mood but also alerts occupants to possible hazards by flashing red in certain situations. As with previous S-Class models, the quality of materials exceeds expectations even in this prestigious class. Mercedes' MBUX infotainment system was an immediate hit with us when it debuted a few years ago. This new S-Class gets an updated version with more features, but in some ways, it may also be a step backward. The trace pad found on current MBUX systems is gone, though the driver can control the system via touchscreen, voice, and capacitive pads on the steering wheel. Those who favor the previous trackpads or dial controller may find the new system distracting to operate. On the plus side, the voice functions are more robust than those in last year's S-Class and give the driver substantial eyes-free control of the MBUX system. A new head-up display will help keep your eyes on the road by appearing to project information in the distance rather than directly in front of the driver. As an added bonus, an augmented reality overlay will superimpose animated arrows when your navigation route has a direction change; in previous MBUX systems, that overlay was shown in the main infotainment screen. Audio prompts for route directions can also be isolated to the driver's headrest speakers so music isn't interrupted for other passengers. The Mercedes Benz S-Class features different driver profiles to ensure their preferred settings for seat adjustments, mirror positioning, audio presets and so on. Unlike other cars with these features, the S-Class uses a variety of techniques to identify the driver, including facial recognition, a fingerprint scanner or a simple four-digit code. As expected of a luxury vehicle in this price range, the S-Class offers a full suite of safety features, plus a few other goodies. All of the optional driving aids from the last-generation S-Class are now standard. It also has the hardware needed for hands-free driving, but the system won't be activated until Mercedes is confident it's ready for public use, in contrast to Tesla's approach of using their customers as beta testers. Once approved, the Mercedes' hands-free driving system will be available as an over-the-air update.

2021 PORSCHE PANAMERA - $87,200 - $198,000.

T

he Porsche Panamera has the look and the performance, four doors and a roomy trunk, which help make its case as a daily driver. Its practicality doesn't tarnish its sporting character, though. It's nearly as agile and communicative as the brand's sports cars. Porsche offers the Panamera with a plethora of powertrain options, including a hybris set up and a twin-turbo V8. Cargo space is plentiful under the fastback's rear hatch, and the interior will accommodate four adults comfortably, especially the long-wheelbase Executive models. If you're looking at the entire lineup of Panameras, note that we the top-of-the-line models bearing the iconic Turbo badge separately, same with the Sport Turismo station-wagon versions. Porsche has given the Panamera a light styling refresh for 2021, incorporating the previously optional SportDesign front fascia as standard across the lineup. The rear end gains an LED strip that runs the entire width of the car, and a new diffuser between the car's dual exhaust outlets provides a sportier appearance. Inside, all Panameras receive an updated steering wheel design with integrated shift paddles. Porsche says it tweaked the chassis slightly to improve ride quality and sharpen handling. New wheel designs and colors— Cherry Red Metallic and Truffle Brown Metallic—are also now offered. Also, lane-keeping assist and traffic-sign recognition can now be found on the standard-equipment list. Porsche offers the 2021 Panamera in such a wide range of models and prices, your budget and needs should dictate which is best for you. There isn't a dud in the pack, including the base model, which churns out 325 horsepower and starts below $100,000. We love the Executive models, which feature a longer wheelbase and offer considerably more rear-seat legroom than the standard body. For our part, we feel the Panamera 4S strikes the best balance between performance and value, with its 440-hp twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 and standard all-wheel-drive system. Porsche also offers an endless selection of options, but don't skip the adaptive air suspension, which improves the hatchback's ride and handling, or the Sport Chrono package. The latter adds a Sport Plus setting with launch control and dials up the response and performance of the Panamera's engine, transmission, and chassis. With agile handling and a smooth ride, especially when equipped with the optional adjustable air suspension, the 2021 Panamera is a thrill to drive. It also provides the comfort and luxury expected of such an expensive four-door hatchback. Every Panamera comes with a boosted engine, but only some wear the Turbo badge. We review those models separately. The base rear-wheel-drive Panamera and all-wheel-drive Panamera 4 feature a 325-hp turbocharged 2.6-liter V-6. Under the hood of the considerably quicker 4S model—60 mph in 3.6 seconds—is a 440-hp twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6. Upgrading to the GTS gives you a 473-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. It's the best performing of the non-Turbo line; however, its suspension sacrifices some ride quality in the name of handling. Porsche also offers plug-in Panameras, with a 455-hp powertrain in the 4 E-Hybrid and a 552-hp setup in the 4S E-Hybrid. Buyers looking for an allelectric Porsche should check out the new Taycan.

A

udi's largest and most luxurious sedan. its high-dollar cabin behind a handsome -understated façade. Among six-cylinder executive sedans, Audi is on par with the Mercedes-Benz S450 but a few tenths off the rapid pace of the BMW 740i. The Audi's engine is smooth, and sounddeadening measures are nice. The A8 offers athleticism and ride comfort, adjustable air suspension and driver-adjustable adaptive dampers are standard. Optional with the V-8 is a more advanced active suspension that scans the road ahead for bumps and takes measures to compensate. 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. 2021 FORD EXPLORER - $33,920 - $54,330.

F

ord offers three rows of seats and plentiful room for hauling cargo, and it comes equipped with much of the connectivity and safety features that are on most buyers wish lists. The base and XLT models come standard with a turbocharged fourcylinder engine and rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is optional. Optional is a hybrid powertrain, and the top-spec Platinum and sporty ST models come with a twin-turbo V-6. Overall, the Explorer is a decent choice, but rivals such as the Kia Telluride, the Hyundai Palisade, and the Mazda CX-9 offer more polish. Ford has made a few upgrades, such as making heated seats standard on the XLT, offering a heated steering wheel as an optional feature on that model, and including an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger's seat on the Limited, ST, and Platinum models. A Sport Appearance package is now available on the XLT trim, and it includes 20-inch aluminum wheels that are coated in Carbonized Gray paint. In addition to the upgraded wheels, the package brings a mesh grille with Carbonized Gray accents as well as unique lower-body cladding, dual exhaust outlets, Light Slate–colored interior upholstery, faux skid plates, and more. A new cargo organizer is optional on XLT, Limited, and ST models; the Platinum trim receives this feature as standard. A Ranch Trim joins the lineup and features unique mahogany-colored leather upholstery; a sporty Enthusiast ST trim is also new for 2021 and provides the performance of the more expensive ST trim with less features and a lower price. The hybrid powertrain is available on the Platinum trim and buyers can now order a rear-wheel drive version of the Explorer's top trim. The mid-level Limited model is the best Explorer for the money. The standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine to be sufficiently potent and more efficient on the highway. It can tow a sizeable 5300 pounds when equipped with the towing package. Apart from that, we think the Limited trim's desirable standard features should suffice. These include a 12-speaker B&O audio system, 20-inch wheels, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, leather upholstery, a power-folding third row, and upgraded driver assists such as adaptive cruise control. Base, XLT, and Limited trims come with a 300-hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, and it motivates the Explorer with authority. The lead-foot drivers among us will prefer either the Platinum model, with its 365-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, or the sporty Explorer ST, which uses a 400-hp version of the same engine. A hybrid joined the Explorer lineup for 2020. It pairs a 3.3-liter V-6 engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 318 horsepower. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5600 pounds. The Explorer rides on an optional all-new rear-wheel-drive platform. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. Ride and handling are agreeable and composed. The Explorer ST is athletic, and its power and stiffer suspension make it a real performance SUV. The rear-drive hybrid model estimates up to 27 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. Adding all-wheel drive reduces the hybrid's ratings by 3 and 4 mpg, respectively. The 200-mile highway route, 24 mpg. Comparatively, the 400-hp Explorer ST earned 25 mpg in our testing, which beat its EPA rating by 1. We also tested the four-cylinder Explorer with all-wheel drive. The government estimates that version will earn 20 mpg city and 27 highway; we saw 28 mpg. The Explorer's cabin is functional and comfortable. Getting into the standard third row is now easier thanks to a new mechanism that moves the second-row seat out of the way at the touch of a button. You can fit four carry-on suitcases behind the Ford's third row, and we fit a total of 31 bags with both back rows folded flat. 35 – globalonemag.com

2021 MAZDA CX 30 - $23,225 - $35,000.

A

lthough the Mazda CX-30 is close in size to the CX-3 SUV, it's a more modern—and hugely desirable—offering. It borrows its styling, interior design, and powertrain from the Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback, and adds a slightly lifted suspension that gives it an SUV-like feel. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder provides adequate power and can be had with either front- or all-wheel drive. A far more powerful turbocharged 2.5-liter comes standard with all-wheel drive. Mazda throws in a host of standard driver-assistance features as well. If you insist on a subcompact SUV the CX-30 belongs at the very top of your list. The CX-30's standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower paired with a six-speed automatic which chooses gears wisely based on driving conditions. A turbocharged 2.5-liter engine provides 250 horsepower. Selecting this powertrain adds all-wheel drive. If you're a fan of the Mazda 3 hatchback, you'll find the CX-30 just as nimble, athletic, and fun to drive. Its crisp steering and fluid body movements make it a pleasure to pilot on a twisty road and provide a sense of stability when cruising. The CX-30 dawdled to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds. Front-wheel-drive CX-30 models receive fuel-economy estimates of 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined from the EPA; all-wheel drive drops the estimates for the nonturbo model to 24 city, 31 mpg, and 26 mpg. On our 200-mile highway fuel-economy test route, our all-wheel-drive CX-30 Premium test vehicle managed to exactly match its EPA rating of 31 mpg. Fuel economy estimates for the new turbocharged engine are not yet available. The 2021 CX-30 has a handsome, well-crafted interior; it's shared with that of the Mazda 3 that women really like. An infotainment display sprouts from the center of the dashboard and is controlled by a rotary knob on the center console; a row of climate-control buttons divide the upper and lower dash panels. Buyers can choose between either an eight- or 12-speaker audio system and can upgrade to available heated front seats. Going with the top-spec Premium trim adds leather upholstery, a power-operated rear liftgate, and other luxury items that put the CX-30 in contention with luxury-brand offerings. As far as cargo-carrying capability goes, the CX-30 isn't the most voluminous SUV you can buy, but we did fit six carry-on suitcases behind the rear seats and 16 in total with the rear seats folded. The CX-30 comes with a standard 8.8-inch screen and Mazda Connected Services, which allows owners to lock and unlock, remote start, and monitor their vehicle through the MyMazda app. The CX-30 also is equipped with standard Bluetooth, two front USB inputs, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Available features include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and SiriusXM satellite radio.

2021 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY - $74,095.

T

he 2021 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 boasts 760 horses of supercharged-V-8 mayhem, but it possesses the athleticism of smaller and lighter sports cars. Those accolades make it the most powerful production car Ford has ever built as well as immersive Mustang there is, which is why I love it. At the center of the excitement is the Shelby's supercharged 5.2-liter V-8, which plays a thrilling soundtrack through its bazooka-like exhaust pipes. The seven-speed dual-clutch automatic operates instinctively. The rear-drive-only coupe accelerates tenaciously and includes a warranty on underwear. Fuel economy for a Mustang is a little more with the exorbitantly priced Carbon Fiber Track package–but the 2021 Shelby GT500 is a magnificent muscle car and a phenomenal sports car. The 2021 Shelby GT500 isn't only the most powerful Mustang—it's also the most expensive. While its maximum performance potential is unlocked with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack (20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, aerodynamic add-ons, stickier Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and other weight-saving measures), that package costs $18,500–roughly 25 percent of its base price. Even without all that hardware, we're still extremely impressed with the GT500, so we'd recommend only a few options. The Handling package allows front suspension adjustments and adds improved aero with splitter wickers and a Gurney flap. The available Recaro front seats match the car's personality and are comfortable and supportive. Likewise, the exposed carbon-fiber instrument panel trim enhances the Shelby's cabin quality. A powerful engine inside the Shelby GT500's intimidating grill is recognized by its name Predator. The motor is a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 that summons 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. That prodigious power twists the rear wheels through a clairvoyant seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GT500 was tested with its standard summer tires as well as the ultra-sticky rubber offered with the Carbon Fiber Track package, which includes 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels. Optimized for racetrack duty, the Shelby GT500 proved that muscle cars can post quicker lap times than more exotic machines, such as the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 and Lamborghini Huracán Evo. The Mustang can blast down drag strips terrorizing six-figure sports cars at the track. It makes daily driving extra exciting with its acceleration and agile handling. Despite its racy demeanor, the GT500's standard adaptive dampers provide great ride quality, too. The Shelby GT500's 760-hp V-8 is the antithesis of fuel efficiency. It earns 12 mpg city and 18 mpg highway. That's less than the Camaro ZL1 and Challenger SRT Hellcat; they're EPA-rated at 13/21 mpg city/highway and 13/22 mpg city/highway, respectively. The GT500 did average 20 mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test, part of our extensive testing regimen. The Shelby Mustang's interior is very similar to that of its mainstream counterpart. Although they share a design and have comparable passenger and cargo space, the GT500 offers options such as carbon-fiber instrument panel trim and more-aggressive, Shelby-specific Recaro front buckets along with a roster of desirable standard features. The latter includes a configurable 12.0-inch fully digital gauge cluster, dualzone climate control, leather-trimmed front seats with heated and cooled cushions, and a six-way power driver's seat. The Shelby's standard aluminum dashboard trim can also be swapped for a piece made of exposed carbon fiber. The infotainment system in the Shelby GT500 is very similar to what’s found in the regular Mustang: an 8.0-inch touchscreen that supports Ford's Sync 3 software. Along with steering-wheel control and voice commands, the stereo's volume and tuning functions can be controlled with physical knobs. Thanks, Ford. Desirable standard connectivity features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. A 12-speaker B&O sound system is available for drivers who want to complement the supercharged V-8's thundering soundtrack with beats of their own.

2021 FORD MUSTANG - $28,350.

T

he Ford Mustang’s legacy is populated by models with diverse qualities. The 2021 Mustang will still come as a coupe or a convertible, and its balance of high-performance offerings will remain full. Whether it’s the turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost or the V-8-powered GT, every version of the original pony can be armed with track weaponry to challenge its Chevy Camaro or Dodge Challenger counterparts. The Ford's bodywork is beautiful. It’s vast personalization options, and practical interior make it desirable to folks who care about cool and sporty everyday transportation. And that's why the Mustang continues to be an icon: it offers something for everyone. We think the Mustang is best appreciated with its sonorous 5.0-liter V-8, which requires either the GT model or the new Mach 1. The latter has an additional 20 horsepower (480 total) versus the regular GT models, and it has performance equipment pulled from the Shelby GT350 and GT500 that makes it more engaging to drive. Unfortunately, this puts its starting price near $54,000, so we'd recommend the regular GT coupe. Sticking with the standard manual transmission, we'd opt for the GT Performance package that adds upgraded Brembo front brakes, a limited-slip differential, stickier summer tires, unique chassis tuning, and more. The standard turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder has enough punch to shame V-8 Mustangs of old. Likewise, the optional HighPerformance package adds a more melodic and responsive EcoBoost engine. The GT models are motivated by a 460-hp V-8. Both of these compelling engines pair with a standard six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic that makes the Mustang quicker than before. The V-8 version is also available with a transformative package (called Performance Pack Level 2) that adds trackready equipment courtesy of the Shelby GT350. The optional EcoBoost Handling package also delivers racetrack readiness to the fourcylinder coupe. This latest Mustang generation brought with it a much-needed independent rear suspension, which replaced the archaic solid rear axle. The switch-up improves its handling and takes its ride quality to another level. The Mustang's modernized chassis delivers a comfortable and controlled driving experience. For added sportiness, there is an optional Performance package for EcoBoost and GT models. The electrically assisted steering is light and nicely weighted in the other two. The Mustang's brake pedal has a firm feel that feels sensitive in stop-and-go traffic. It’s easier to apply smoothly at higher speeds. The most efficient Mustang is the turbocharged four-cylinder with the 10-speed automatic, and 21 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The V-8–powered Mustang earned ratings of 15 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. In our testing, the four-banger with the manual transmission returned 24 mpg—7 fewer than its EPA rating. The V-8 with the automatic saw 24 mpg matching its EPA number. The Mustang interior is better with an evolutionary design that manages to be fully functional and livable. It's available with premium heated and cooled front seats. Stellar performance and impressive cargo space makes the Mustang a high-performance vehicle. The back seat stows by pulling a strap and folds easily by hand. Should you need to transport up to 12 carry-on bags, the Mustang can do so. The Ford wins with the biggest center-console bin among its competitors.

2021 MAZDA MX 5 MIATA - $31,770.

B

ringing in all the jitters of the “fun” performance at a very affordable price is the 2021 Mazda MX-5 convertible. A two-door sports coupe that has been in production for more than 30 years. The current, fourth -generation Mazda MX-5 is quite an upgrade over the last facelift.

Though rival convertibles or sports coupes like the Fiat 124 spider and Mini Cooper Convertible are generally roomier and more usable day to day life. The Miata is unmatched in its ability to let you enjoy the pleasures of effortless driving. The Mazda MX-5 has been in production since the late ’80s and is still prevalent. What can better represent the quality and craftsmanship of the car, then the long years of service? The 2021 Mazda MX-5 convertible is another quality vehicle added to the long list from the company and has a sturdy build that will stand the test of time. The latest Mazda MX-5 hasn’t been on sale for long enough to identify any reliability issues. With such a simple mechanical layout and plenty of electronic kits shared with existing models, the car should provide trouble-free motoring. However, it’s worth noting that if you plan to drive it hard – on road or track – then perishables such as brake discs, brake pads, and tires will need replacing more frequently. The JD power has a reliability score of 67 out of 100, which is above average for the segment. Also, there has been no safety recalls issued from NHTSA. The 2020 Miata convertible has a base price of $26,580. That’s about average for the subcompact convertible. The price rises to around $33,000 for the Miata RF hardtop, which is higher than many coupe rivals like the Toyota 86 and Mini Cooper Convertible. Pretty easy to buy, thanks to the cost-effective lease options, it is also quite pocket friendly to own. If you don’t believe us, take a look at the 5-year ownership costs of the Club trim of the 2020 MX-5 manual: The Mazda MX-5 convertible is an excellent piece of automobile, and also very much affordable. The 2021 Mazda MX-5 convertible is offered at a starting price of $26,000, which is very low considering other cars in the competition. Stick with a 2020 Miata if you want more standard safety tech than older models offer. Otherwise, consider saving money by shopping for a used model. There have been a few critical updates since Mazda launched the fourth generation Miata for the 2016 model year. For 2017, a Miata RF variant debuted with a power-retractable hardtop. The 2019 model gained an upgraded engine with an extra 26 horsepower, and it became the first Miata available with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking. These safety features are now standard on all 2020 Miata’s, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are newly available.

2021 MINI COOPER COUNTRYMAN - $27,350.

T

he 2021 Mini Cooper Countryman is a supersized version of the little cars that made the British brand famous for being fun to drive. It provides the largest amount of cargo-and-passenger space found in any Mini, which makes it especially useful. With a trio of ascending powertrains that include a plug-in hybrid, the Countryman has wide range of performance. It's considered a subcompact crossover, but it drives more like a station wagon. The cabin is decorated with peculiar-to-Mini details, and the company provides a plethora of personalization options. Although its uneven ride quality and missing driver assists detract from the experience, the 2021 Countryman offers a lot of character and convenience. Its unmistakable appearance is now even more distinctive due to a restyled front end. LED lighting elements promote its British heritage through a Union Jack motif on the taillights. There's now a Piano Black Exterior option that replaces the Mini's chrome trim with gloss-black pieces. A set of fresh wheel designs as well as White Silver and Sage Green metallic paint colors are new too. Inside, the infotainment system's housing is redesigned with gloss-black material. The Countryman is also now compatible with Amazon Alexa voice assistant. There's a new version of the fancy MINI Yours Interior Style, a new range of leather trims and interior surfaces, and a newly optional digital gauge cluster that's mounted on the steering column. Mini has also expanded its value-oriented Oxford Edition trim to the Countryman for 2021, bundling desirable equipment into the base front-wheel drive model at a discounted price. Its turbocharged four-cylinder provides an extra 55 horsepower. There is also a bad-weather traction of the optional ALL4 all-wheel drive Signature trim. It adds an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, heated seats, and passive entry. Mini offers all-season tires as a replacement for the standard performance set and the Driver Assistance package includes adaptive cruise control and a head-up display. The Countryman offers several powertrain combinations and either standard front-or optional all-wheel drive. Apart from the plug-in model, frontdrive versions feature a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission; those with all-wheel-drive have an eight-speed automatic. The base engine is a 134-hp turbocharged three-cylinder that simply lacks the power to move the Countryman's 3,300-plus pounds with any authority. The Cooper S model is equipped with a more powerful 189-hp turbocharged four-cylinder. The plug-in hybrid model (known as the Cooper S E) is the quickest Countryman we've tested, but it's also the most expensive. It uses a version of the three-cylinder gas engine driving the front wheels through a sixspeed automatic transmission in combination with a rear-drive electric motor fed by a 9.6-kWh battery pack. It can charge at either a 120-volt or a 240volt outlet. A full charge requires seven hours on standard 120-volt house current and a bit more than three hours on 240 volts. The plug-in model's brake pedal had a long dead spot at the top of its travel, which takes some getting used to. The most fuel-efficient Countryman is the plug-in hybrid Cooper S E model, which earned an EPA rating of 73 MPGe from the EPA. Among the nonhybrid offerings, the front-wheel drive three-cylinder model delivers the highest ratings of 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway; all-wheel drive drops those ratings to 23 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The more powerful four-cylinder S model earns ratings of 24 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, or 23 and 31 with all-wheel drive. The Countryman's interior is typically Mini in its design, including an infotainment system set in a large circular housing in the center of the dash and toggle switches for controlling items such as the interior lights, ignition, and the standard automatic stop/start system. There's a lot to like about the Countryman's cabin, which is assembled from high-quality materials and offers adequate passenger space. The rear bench seat offers enough space for long-haul comfort, although adding a rear-seat armrest requires the purchase of the Convenience package. A number of storage nooks provide the Countryman with sufficient space for stashing smaller items; however, the cargo area offers less space than some smaller competitors. The Countryman does have a large underfloor storage space in the rear but opting for the available space-saver spare tire takes up most of that. The Countryman comes standard with a 6.5-inch screen for its infotainment system, an 8.8-inch touchscreen setup with Apple CarPlay capability and navigation is available as part of a package. Controlled by either touch inputs, a control knob behind the shifter, or with voice commands.

2021 CEHEVROLET CORVETTE - $67,495.

F

or 2020, the Corvette has undergone the most radical redesign in its 67-year history. Chevrolet's engineers decided a new midengine layout was the way to go for its inherent advantages in weight distribution. Risky? Yes. But the result is hugely impressive. In terms of performance, the Corvette equals or outshines cars costing twice to three times as much. The new 6.2-liter V8 and dual-clutch automatic transmission are a formidable combo on the track but offer plenty of oomph and smooth operation in nearly any condition. The 2020 Corvette also imparts more information about its handling balance and grip, thereby giving its driver more confidence in taking the car up to its handling limits. As with past Corvettes, the C8 is practical for both daily driving and long trips. There's space for the coupe's removable targa roof panel top in the rear, and the lack of an engine up front means there's a small frunk in the nose. The new interior has a sharp, driver-focused design and fine materials throughout. A Corvette convertible is on its way too. It's stupid fast, it looks exotic and it hammers home what the Chevy's sports car has always done: Give you maximum performance at a reasonable price. Even in a class full of impressive performance cars, the Corvette stands out. In Edmunds testing, using launch control rocketed our Z51 test car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and cleared the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds at more than 120 mph. Both times are very quick. Braking performance is impressive, but that's largely down to the narrow front tires. We recorded panic stops from 60 mph in 105 feet, which is still a good number, and noted the Corvette's stability and excellent pedal feel. Steering and handling are both much improved. Skid pad testing showed the chassis' excellent balance with an eye-opening 1.09g, which is a number you'd expect from much more expensive performance cars. Likewise, the new eight-speed automatic transmission impresses with its smooth and quick shifts. The new Corvette is one of the more comfortable cars in its class. Our test car had the optional MagneRide adaptive suspension. We found that it offers excellent compliance over a variety of road surfaces and smooths out bumps that would likely upset other sports cars. Adding to the comfort is the relative lack of wind and engine noise, though tire noise can be prominent on rough road surfaces. The climate system provides good airflow from its stylish vents. Maybe just as striking as the exterior design, the Corvette's interior is certainly eye-catching. Getting in and out of the Corvette was a little difficult. This predicament is exacerbated in tight parking situations. But buyers will likely figure out a way and won't be too bothered. The com46promised rear visibility will take some getting used to as well. Chevy added a camera-based rearview mirror display to help, but the blind spots created by the rear pillars are still significant. The Corvette benefits from Chevrolet's newest infotainment system. The graphics are crisp and modern, and the touchscreen's proximity to the driver makes it easy to operate. As small as the interior is, the optional 14-speaker Bose audio system manages to produce a decent soundstage with plenty of power. The front trunk can hold a couple of grocery bags, and the rear is big enough for two golf bags. Rear storage all but disappears, however, when you store the Corvette's removable roof panel in the trunk. Corvette returned 20.1 mpg, which is commendable given that some hard driving was done.

718 PORSCHE BOXSTER - $62,000- $71,000

P

orsche’s craftsmanship and attention to detail are very well known among the auto world. Its cars are truly remarkable in their performance streaks and hence the old school Porsches are still very collectible. However, they are not particularly known for being reliable. Over the years, Porsche has worked to remedy this.

Getting a Porsche is a sure-fire way to get your neighbors green with envy. After all, you have a sweet ride. However, how reliable is it in front of their Toyota is what you should be concerned about. For precisely this purpose, the J.D. Power score comes in handy. J.D. Power has not rated the 2020 Porsche 718 Boxster but thankfully, the 2019 model has been rated. The 2019 model scored a massive 93/100 in the J.D. Power index. This score not only matches but outdoes their Toyota in many regards. So, you can rest assured that it will remain in your garage happily without any qualms. Furthermore, the 2020 model has not had any recalls while the 2019 model only had 1 recall. This recall was for a fuel line that might leak in the event of a crash when a chassis member intrudes on it. Confidently, we can say that the 718 Boxster will carry forward the clean streak ideology of its predecessor and become yet another reliable ride. Everything is good and up to peak standards now. With such a great track record, you might be more than excited to buy the 718 Boxster for yourself. However, when you buy a Porsche, you have to make sure that it remains the powerful stallion that it is for a long time. And for this purpose costs are involved. The following are the ownership costs for 5-years for the Porsche 718 Boxster: Though it is a convertible, since it’s a Porsche offering, the body lines are one of the best. Smooth, curvaceous, and yet sleek and petite. The roof can be operated electrically at speeds up to 31 mph. As soon as you pop the roof button, the heated rear window comes up and the cloth roof attaches itself to the front, forming a faux coupe look.q`21 As you move to the side, the door is kind of sunken in to form an air vent in the door cavity itself. This has been the classic signature design feature from the Boxster’s inception. To this day, the makers have made sure that it stays omnipresent on the moniker. Roam around to the back, and the curvy body matches the entire silhouette and perfectly and ends with the single exhaust vent at the center part of the back.

2021 PORSHE 911 - $100,550.

P

orsche has been on top when it comes to building good quality luxury sports cars. Consumer reviews about the car suggest that the parts of the cars rarely wear out and the performance does not downgrade easily. Porsche is backed up by one of the large st car

Porsche cars always had excellent build quality, and with their anti-rust paint job, the car shines for a very long time. According to reports, more than 10,000,000 911s produced almost 7,000,000 are still on the road, which means that the cars produce d from the year 1964 almost 70% of the cars are still on the road, which proves how reliable Porsche is in making their cars, and also m akes the 911 a legendary car. The resale value of the car is also relatively high and still people buy them because they are worth every penny. Porsche has still gone with the rear engine layout housing the boxer motor. This time, however, they have ditched the Overboo st function of the previous generation engine and have also managed to refined the already perfect eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox, which combined with the 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer six which is bolted over the rear axle produces 572-hp and an identical 553 lb-ft of torque in the standard 911 Turbo. Porsche has managed to perfect the art of turbocharging and getting rid of the over boost feature has reduced the turbo lag to nil. The car feels powerful all the time, power is at the touch of your foot whenever you want it, so overtaking at the highways now f eels quite effortless for the refined engine. The motor feels responsive throughout the rev range and is accompanied by pops and bangs which can be heard when you lift off the throttle. The 911 Turbo S has the most power among the rivals, and even the standard model is still not shy enough than the other. The peak torque is available at very low RPM in the Porsche and it also has the most amount of torque at its disposal. Audi R8 is 10HP down on the Porsche Turbo but it features an astonishing nat-asp V10 engine that sounds unlike any other engine on the market. The power is not immediate, unlike any turbocharged engine, the V10 motor has to be revved to get a move on. 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe Acceleration and Braking Performance: Even though the boxer-6 is smaller than what is offered in the other cars, it churns out the most amount of torque and also is equally powerful when compared to other bigger engines. T he 3.8L flat-six engine manages to propel the car from a standstill to 60 MPH in just 2.8 seconds, which is 0.1 of a second faster than the standard Huracan. The S model had a top speed of 205 MPH whereas the standard model has a top speed of 198 MPH which is not at all slow.

2021 AUDI A4 ALLROAD Wagon - $45,645.

T

he Audi A4 is fresh off a freshening for the 2020 model year, Audi moves the Allroad forward with a significant mechanical change for 2021: the addition of a 12-volt hybrid system to its turbocharged four-cylinder. Horsepower is also bumped up by 13, for a total output of 261. Elsewhere, lane-departure warning becomes standard, wireless Apple CarPlay is introduced, and a builtin toll-road transponder is added to the car's rear-view mirror. The Convenience Package—available only on the base Premium trim— now includes front and rear parking sensors and a heated steering wheel, while the mid-range Premium Plus trim now comes standard with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree exterior camera system; Prestige trims add heated rear seats. We recommend the mid-range Premium Plus model. It's slightly elevated over the base Premium model with additional standard features luxury buyers will prefer, such as Audi's cool Virtual Cockpit gauge display, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, keyless entry with push-button start, front and rear parking sensors, a wireless smartphone charging pad, LED headlamps, power-folding exterior side mirrors, and a memory seat for the driver. We'd also add the Cold Weather package with its all-weather floor mats, heated rear seats, and heated steering wheel. There's only one powertrain for the A4 Allroad, but it's a good one: the gutsier, 261-hp version of the regular A4's turbocharged 2.0liter four-cylinder, which now comes with a 12-volt hybrid system. A seven-speed automatic transmission and the latest version of Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system are standard. In our experience with older nonhybrid models, we noted that the gearbox modulates its attitude depending on the driver's demands and can snap off quick, precise shifts under hard driving or more relaxed, unobtrusive shifts around town. We'll have to wait to test the A4 Allroad with its new powertrain. From our previous experience with it, however, the A4 Allroad drives like a dream, balancing ride and handling extremely well. Its cornering grip is plenty adequate and puts it right in line with most competitors. It feels like a car rather than an SUV, something we think a lot of buyers will appreciate. We certainly do. The A4 Allroad has an attractive, businesslike interior. The A4 Allroad's cabin is perfectly functional, handsome, nicely appointed, and comfortable. The Allroad's back seat has nearly as much legroom as both the Mercedes Benz E-Class Wagon and the V90. The Allroad comes standard with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and three-zone automatic climate control. The A4 Allroad is smaller inside and out and only held six carry-ons behind the rear seat, only one more than the A4 sedan. Audi was one of the first automakers to bring data plans and Wi-Fi into cars, and it hasn't stopped innovating. Audi's MMI infotainment system's newest crown jewel is the optional Virtual Cockpit, a high-resolution configurable display located where the gauge cluster would normally be. It can be arranged to show either a digital version of a traditional cluster layout or a more infotainment-focused display, which can feature real-time Google Maps overlays of the surrounding environs. A 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen takes center stage atop the dashboard and features Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

2022 SUBARU OUTBACK Wagon $26,795 - $39,945.

S

ubaru Outback people aren’t like typical SUV owners. Thy buy Outbacks to use for off-road adventures. Overlanding (off-road camping) is a trend that Outbacks drivers love hauling lots of gear to fairly remote destinations for extended stays. To help them make those trips easier, a growing number of Outback owners have been modifying these wagons with lifted suspensions and more aggressive tires. Well, Subaru decided it should offer a more off-road capable package - right from the factory. Meet the new 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness.

The Outback has improved off-road suspension performance. Subaru raised the suspension by 0.8-inch front and rear by replacing the springs and dampers with taller units. The new setup slightly increased the suspension stroke, too. The taller stance is enhanced with more aggressive Yokohama Geolandar A/T 225/65 R17 tires. However, because the Wilderness uses 17-inch wheels instead of 18-inch wheels, those raised white letter sidewalls of the new Yokohamas are taller, helping to provide better compliance and traction for off-pavement fun. Those small modifications provide the Wilderness with an impressive 9.5-inches of ground clearance. Like the more expensive Outback XT models, the Wilderness comes standard with a strong 260-horsepower turbocharged flat-4 engine with 277 lb-ft of torque. And that mates to the company’s continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) with 8 “speed” manual-shift capability. Subaru improved the vehicle’s gearing by altering those ratios to deliver improved low-speed control. The final drive ratio has been improved from 4.11:1 to 4.44:1. The new gearing helps the Wilderness climb a 40 percent grade on a gravel surface. The Outback’s programming has dual function X-Mode system but with the same snow/dirt and deep snow/mud settings. X-Mode, when engaged, will bias more of the all-wheel-drive system’s torque to the rear axle. It also changes throttle mapping and automatically engages hill descent control. The X-Mode makes the traction control respond more quickly. The Wilderness has fresh calibrations, and Subaru has removed the speed limiter on X-Mode’s most aggressive settings. The Wilderness has a more rugged style on the outside thanks to hex-style foglamps, blacked-out trim, fender flares, a black stripe down the hood (Subaru says to reduce glare), and a new grille. The most important parts of the design enhancements are the new bumper end caps explicitly sculpted to improve off-road clearance. The new suspension by itself raises the breakover angle from 19.4 to 21.2 degrees. Those are numbers that let the Outback explore a little further than before but not enough clearance to follow a Jeep Wrangler (or a 4Runner, for that matter) on a rugged 4WD trail without potentially rubbing some plastic. The Wilderness comes with a hefty skidplate up front, so there is some protection. Those copper accents you see around the car indicate “use points,” according to Subaru. That means recovery tow points on the bumpers and attachment points on the roof rack. And speaking of that roof rack, it’s an all-new design fixed ladder-type design with a static load carrying capability of 700 lbs. Why is static load significant? Subaru owners love to camp, and those trendy rooftop tents are heavy. This new load rating ensures you can park for the night and sleep up in a rooftop tent without overloading the rack. The Wilderness carries the copper theme inside, highlighting the steering wheel and shifter with a specific copper-colored trim. The interior is ruggedized with heavy-duty floor mats, aluminum pedals, and all seating surfaces are Subaru’s breathable, cleanable and water-repellent StarTex material. The Wilderness comes standard. Options are few and include a sunroof and a hands-free power tailgate and moonroof. Subaru is known for its safety performance. The team we spoke with said they expect this model to have the same safety rating as other Outback models, namely the highest Top Safety Pick + award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the top 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

2021 JEEP CHEROKEE - $25,296.

T

he 2021 Jeep Cherokee comes with the same standard 2.4L naturally aspirated inline-4 motor producing 180 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. This motor is mated to a torque converter 9-speed automatic transmission and the power is put down through the front wheels. However, an optional 4WD version is also available for $1,500 more on all the trims. Along with this motor, there are two more powertrains on offer, namely a turbocharged 2L motor and a 3.2L Pentastar V6 motor, both of which are also mated to the same 9-speed auto. However, for the 2021 iteration, the Cherokee comes with several standard safety and driver-assistance features like automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and more. The lower trims like Latitude and Latitude Plus, both of which come for a base MSRP of $26,535 and $28,605, get features like heated mirrors, one -touch up/down power windows, and many more too. Even the higher trims like Trailhawk also get a more standard kit, making it more rounded in comparison to the outgoing 2020 model. Basically, the Jeep Cherokee delivers four different trims and also with two engines as options. All trim levels are both available to front-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive. Cherokee uses a 2.4L 4-cylinder unit that produces 184 horsepower as a basic engine. It is capable of bringing up to 31 mpg on the highway when mated to 9-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, which is the standard one. Some women opt for a more powerful engine, thus, they go full length to a 3.2L V6, which offers 271 horsepower, boosting its acceleration. Additionally, Cherokee is nicely equipped, with standard items such as 17-inch wheels, keyless entry, automatic windows and door locks, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxiliary inputs for the stereo, steering wheel mounted cruise and audio controls and a 5-inch touchscreen. Commodious, comforting, and deluxe are all words to describe the 2021 Jeep Cherokee’s cabin. The 2021 Cherokee’s cabin can squad up to 5 passengers easily, and comfort them in the cozy bucket seats, which can be wrapped with cloth, premium vinyl, g enuine leather, and even premium Nappa leather as per the trim chosen by the buyers. The High Altitude and Trailhawk trims, which comes at a base price of $34,386 and $33,207, embraces heating and ventilation options for the seats along with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and a touchscreen UConnect infotainment system.

2021 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE - $104,890.– $115,890.

T

he “Maserati” has a taste for sophisticated performance and superlative luxury, which gave impetus to bring Quattroporte on roads. The 2021 Maserati Quattroporte is the extended version of the sixth-generation model introduced for 2013. The manufacturer has coined the word “Quattroporte”, that itself speaks a lot about the car and unravels the single purpose to enhance the upmarket flairs. Maserati has introduced a new range topping Trofeo trim to the Quattroporte lineup for 2021. The Trofeo is powered by a 580-hp twinturbo V-8 that twists the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. A limited-slip rear differential comes standard, as does a Corsa driving mode that unlocks the car's full potential. In addition to these upgrades, the Quattroporte Trofeo showcases its topof-the-line designation with a unique grille, red-accented fender vents, 21-inch wheels, and carbon-fiber trim. The latest Quattroporte has a new infotainment system, too, with a 10.1-inch touchscreen replacing the old 8.4-inch unit. A wireless charging pad and a new gauge display with updated graphics round out the changes. Two twin-turbo engines are available—a 424-hp 3.0-liter V-6, and a 3.8-liter V-8 that makes 523-hp in the GTS and 580-hp in the Trofeo. An eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive are standard; the Quattroporte S Q4 marries all-wheel drive with the V-6. Both engines sing lovely operatic tunes when hustled and neither one will have buyers wishing for more passing power. We expect the newly introduced Trofeo model will be even quicker. The Quattroporte rewards enthusiast drivers with a firm suspension, agile handling, and well-weighted steering that's both direct and communicative. The Q4 all-wheel-drive system, however, should only be on your radar if significant annual snowfall also is. Its retrograde calibration makes for significant drag and binding as well as a decidedly nonluxury experience in nonhazardous conditions. The 2021 Quattroporte has managed to upgrade with minor tweaks and changes. An abundance of standard features is offered in the package including the latest tech amenities and technological advancements. Upbeat performance is delivered by the V6 and V8 engine options, automatic transmission system, and flagship Quattroporte all-wheel-drive system called the Q4. Standard RWD is still offered but the AWD tech fare much better when it comes to driving this Italian around with vigor. Speaking of trims, the GranSport and GranLusso are basically two different packages for the Quattroporte that are projected as trims. While the GranLusso is a take on the sedan's luxury quotient, the GranSport brings out the sporty character of this Italian b rute. Maserati Quattroporte walks on the same road as its sister Ferrari, so the power pack perform ance and glamorous guise come hand in hand. The brand adheres to the basic principles of practicality and utility. The customer seems satisfied with this gracef ul model; however, when it comes to showing the numbers of dealership experience, reliability, and ownership costs,

2020 TOYOTA AVALON / - $37,120.

F

ewer automakers offer the large class sedan because consumers are increasingly gravitating to SUVs and highly capable midsize sedans. Toyota, however, is one brand that's still carrying the torch. The Toyota Avalon simultaneously exemplifies and upends the conventions of the class. This latest model has a V6 engine that delivers smooth acceleration. Though slightly larger than the Toyota Camry, the Avalon has lots of legroom for all occupants and a higher percentage of premium materials. The Avalon lends itself well to long road trips thanks to the supportive outboard seats and minimal wind noise. The Avalon, with nimble handling and quick steering, is surprisingly up to the challenge of zipping along a curvy road. There's a new TRD model this year with a sport-tuned suspension. If you want an uncompromising blend of performance and comfort, consider the top Touring trim. It's equipped with adaptive dampers that soften the ride or sharpen handling at the press of a button — a rare feature for this type of vehicle. With a potent 301-horsepower V6 mated to a smooth-shifting transmission, the Avalon has power to get up and go. It is also pleasant to use in most scenarios, from long road trips and afternoon cruises to day-to-day commutes and short errands around town. Braking is consistent and never grabby, which lends to its comfort in daily use. The Avalon is surprising in its athleticism — its shockingly enjoyable handling and drivability. While not a sport sedan, this cruiser can handle twisty roads with relative ease for a vehicle of its size. Think about a mobile defensive end or tackle in football as opposed to an athletic linebacker. Comfort is a strength for the Avalon and is probably the primary reason you'd consider such a large sedan. All seating positions give you ample cushioning and support for long drives or short cruises. The leather upholstery is very soft and gives the sensation that the Avalon is more upscale than its price suggests. The ride is cushioned and makes you feel shielded from harsh roads. The cabin is cozy due to the climate control's quick heating and cooling. While there is no rattling or shaking inside the cabin, road noise is present at all times. There are even redundant key functions located on the steering wheel. Legroom is abundant, the driving position is superb due to its multitude and depth of adjustments, and visibility is great up front and modest to the sides and over the shoulder. Toyota's Entune system and its 9-inch touchscreen are surprisingly good. Apple CarPlay support makes things so much better. The display is bright and responds well to inputs, but Toyota tends to lock out more functions while you're driving than other carmakers. There's one USB port for data and four 2.1-amp power-only USBs - two up front and two in back. The front console also houses a wireless charging pad. The car's built-in voice controls are hit-or-miss - it's better at understanding radio commands than navigation commands. We enjoyed using Siri via Apple CarPlay. While cargo capacity is average on paper, the Avalon works out to be more convenient compared to some others due to the wide trunk opening, broad floor and convenient loading height. You might be disappointed if you're the type who folds the rear seats to expand the space because there's a sizable step up to the folded seats. Inside, there are numerous small cubbies, plenty of cupholders, and a center console that's sizable and surprisingly deep. The door pockets are average, but there are enough other options that it's not a concern. The Avalon really shines when it comes to fitting child safety seats. The car seat anchors are easy to access, and the huge rear bench has space enough for just about any type of seat. 52 – globalonemag.com

2021 RAM 1500 - $30,550. - $38,640.

R

am continues to be a top-rated truck. All Ram 1500 trims come with excellent driving dynamics, generously appointed interiors, and a unique rear suspension for the class. With it, the Ram glides past competitors with a ride quality more commonly associated with cars. Truck duties are not a problem either, the Ram 1500 offers comparable maximum ratings for both towing and payload capacity. New this year is a diesel-powered turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 known as the EcoDiesel. It also allows for a stout maximum tow rating of 12,560 pounds. The cabin is another clear win for the Ram. Highlights include comfortable seats, high-quality materials, and an easyto-use touchscreen infotainment system. Move through the options list and the Ram 1500 really begins to shine. Higher trims offer even greater levels of luxury. The truck has unmatched storage solutions from a large, configurable center console to spacious in-floor bins and locking compartments built into the side of its bed. There are no significant differences between the gasoline-powered 2020 Ram 1500 and our long-term Ram. Ram has a V8 engine and eight-speed transmission. They work so well together that we could recommend this truck on that basis alone. It's strong, and it's easy to drive in just about every situation. The same can largely be said for the newly reintroduced EcoDiesel powertrain — especially if you appreciate the pulling power of diesel torque. But there's much more to the Ram than solid powertrain choices. Experiencing the steady steering, confident braking, and secure handling. Ram's decade-old decision to walk away from leaf springs and switch to a coilspring rear suspension continues to pay dividends. We're surprised no one has followed its lead. Wind and road noise are minimal, particularly in higher trim levels. Even the rumbling V8 provides only a soothing soundtrack unless you decide to open it up. The Ram 1500 expertly soaks up varying road imperfections and does it without the rough ride you'd normally expect from a light-duty pickup. The front seats are nicely shaped to provide comfort and support over long distances. The rear bench has an agreeable backrest angle, and it reclines. The Ram 1500's has an effective climate control system, which offers rear center A/C vents even if you get three-across front seating. The Ram 1500 crew cab's interior is a pleasing place to spend time. The doors open wide to make it easy to get in, and all four doors have their own chunky and well-positioned grab handles. For the driver, there are easy-to-reach controls and a commanding view of the road. Passengers in any seat will find plenty of headroom, legroom and shoulder room. The cabin is spacious, and the Ram has more rear legroom and foot clearance than competing trucks. Although the rearview mirror is a bit small, the Ram's large windows and clever hood design help with outward visibility overall. With the V8 or the diesel engine, most of the Ram 1500's common configurations can pull more than 11,000 pounds. The optional RamBox locking bins built into the side of the bed are useful for storing tools or towing equipment. There's also an optional two-way tailgate that can open downward or like doors. Interior storage space is another area where the truck shines. Its center console is enormous and highly configurable. The Ram can be ordered with hidden compartment spaces in the rear floor, underneath the rear seats or in the back cushions themselves. The rear seat folds up as one piece or in a 60/40-split on higher trims. The interior build quality available here leaves the competition miles behind, and pricing isn't much different from what rival’s charge. Special note and Correction: In our first printing of this issue for the Ram 1500 review - the term "Dodge" is utilized which is incorrect. In 2009, Dodge and Ram separated into distinct brands and does not make Dodge Ram pickup trucks any longer, only Ram trucks.

2020 KIA NIRO EV - $24,950. – 32,790.

he 2020 Kia Niro EV is a fully electric version of, yes, Kia's Niro. Kia also sells the Niro as a regular hybrid as well as a plug-in hybrid, but the EV only uses electricity. For power, it uses a 64-kWh battery with a 201-horsepower electric motor that drives the front wheels. The result is both quick acceleration and an EPA-estimated range of 239 miles. That's not quite as much as rivals such as the Chevrolet Bolt or Tesla Model 3 are capable of, but it's still plenty for most EV drivers.

T

There's more to the Niro EV than just some impressive numbers. You'll also like its roomy seating and impressive amount of technology and safety features. This is one of our top-ranked electric vehicles, and it's worth checking out. Niro EV test car accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. That's noticeably quicker than rival EVs such as the Chevy Bolt and Nissan Leaf, though the Tesla Model 3 is quicker still. Braking is smooth and consistent. The Niro offers partial one-pedal driving, but it won't bring you to a complete stop unless you hold the steering paddle. When the Niro is pushed, the suspension keeps the car planted and composed. It's fun to drive this car quickly, though the eco-oriented tires provide only modest amounts of grip. We like the Niro's ride quality. It smooths out bumps in the road without being overly soft or bouncy. The front seats are well shaped and firm, but they don't offer many adjustments. The dual-zone climate control works quickly and evenly, and the rear air vents are a welcome feature for passengers. The Niro EV is very quiet with little wind, tire or road noise coming into the cabin. At low speeds, the car emits a futuristic whirring sound that's required to help alert pedestrians. It fades away above 20 mph. Kia nailed the Niro's interior. The rear offers plenty of legroom and headroom and there's quite a bit of open space up front. It's also easy to get in and out of. The Niro EV is easy to see out of. All the controls are easy to find and use too. The Niro's infotainment system is functional and easy to use. There are EV-specific screens that show range, driving data and more, which is a welcome feature for eco-conscious drivers. Syncing a smartphone is easy, and the Niro quickly reconnects once you get back inside. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. There are one data and two charging USB ports and a wireless charging pad. The Niro comes standard with a full suite of advanced driver aids. I enjoyed the smooth and easy operation of the adaptive cruise control, especially in traffic. The Niro comes to total storage capacity. It is easy-to-load nature and rear seats that fold flat. Up front, you'll find a lot of places to store your small items inside the cabin. All four doors feature pockets and water bottle holders. The main cupholders are adjustable and can be folded away to provide another bin or room for larger water bottles. Its easy to install child safety seats in the Niro EV thanks to the roomy rear seat and easily accessible seat anchors. Depending on your route and driving style, you'll probably be able to clear 250 miles without much trouble.

2021 HYUNDAI VELOSTER - $19,905. - $29,455.

T

he 2021 Hyundai Veloster remains one of the most unique cars on sale today. Its because not many cars come with three side doors. The answer would be one: the Veloster. It has an asymmetrical three-door setup with one door on the driver's side and two on the passengers. That quirky door arrangement improves the practicality of this small hatchback by providing better access to the rear seats compared to a regular coupe. It is fun and playful driving characteristics that you expect from a small performance coupe. The base 147-horsepower 2.0-liter engine doesn't exactly get the heart pumping and can feel strained just merging onto freeways. Thankfully, the optional turbocharged 1.6-liter engine (201 hp) makes the Veloster feel a lot sportier. Or if you want serious performance from a small car, look no further than the Veloster N In turns and corners, there's only a hint of body roll, and the R-Spec's highperformance tires help it instantly change directions. The R-Spec comes only with a manual transmission, but the dual-clutch automatic in other turbocharged Velosters responds quickly to paddle-shifted gear changes. The Veloster is sportier than most compact cars, and that means a fundamentally stiff suspension. Even so, the Veloster remains comfortable for driving around town or highway cruising. The ride is composed and stable, and the suspension takes the edge off larger bumps, but the car's short wheelbase makes it more sensitive to choppy roads. The R-Spec's seats are nicely shaped, offering ample support and side bolstering and plenty of adjustability. Some drivers will lament that the seats lack adjustable lumbar, but you can get this feature in Turbo and Turbo Ultimate models. The cabin can get noisy at highway speeds, especially when the car is equipped with high-performance tires. The Veloster's interior is intelligently designed and packaged. It makes good use of available space afforded by the car's funky, asymmetrical styling. The long driver's door makes it tricky to get in or out in tight spaces, but shorter doors make it easier on the passenger side. There's surprisingly ample front and rear space inside the car, and most adults can sit in the rear seat without complaint, but limited headroom might annoy taller riders. Fundamentally, the Veloster is a driver's car, and that driving position is appropriately low and sporty. The controls are logically grouped and placed close at hand. And overall visibility is good, but the massive rear pillars translate to large blind spots. Navigation is available with the Turbo Ultimate trim. It's a basic system but it's clear and easy to use. The Veloster comes with an array of USB and 12-volt charging and data connections, and some trims offer a wireless charging pad. Voice commands are limited to a handful of functions, but the system responds well, even to some more natural phrases. Driver aids are sprinkled throughout the lineup, but we learned they don't always respond accurately after experiencing some false emergency-braking episodes. The Veloster's trunk is surprisingly spacious at 19.9 cubic feet, although it relies on a low load floor to create much of that space. As a result, you'll have to lift items somewhat high to clear the trunk opening. The cabin offers plenty of spaces to store drink bottles and personal items, including wide door pockets and a large center console. Rear passengers need to make do with cupholders and a small tray. The car seat anchors near the surface of the seats are clearly marked, but they're tucked between the cushions and offer no special access. The top tethers are inconveniently located on the trunk floor. This car is not the best one to choose if you're frequently installing and removing a car seat.

2021 MERCEDES BENZ E CLASS - $55,300. - $63,050.

W

hen it comes to luxury cars, women love the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan (V6). Considered as the ideal high-end car, its performance is not designed to disappoint. With its power, reliability, and strength, it’s an ultimate bonus that this car has a soothing presence. The price ranges from $53,575 to $102,675. Of course, the E-Class comes in different forms – Sedan, Coupe, Cabriolet, and Wagon with every form with its respective engine. All E-Class models, however, use a 7-speed automatic transmission. The cost range starts from E350 with its 302-horsepower and 3.5L V6. Next is E400, made special by its turbocharged 3.0L V6 and 330-horsepower. The priciest is the AMG E63 S which many consider is focused on delivering a notable performance on the road with its 585-hp and 5.5L twin-turbocharged V8. In just one look, the new E-Class Sedan captivates the senses. It starts with the all-new front end, comprised of LED headlamps that come standard, a redesigned grille with chrome pins, and AMG body cladding for a sporty, yet elegant appearance. Even the tail lamps have been revamped to feature a new geometric design, while new colors and materials present upgrades both inside and out, and an expanded selection of wheels allows for greater customization. Once it’s in “Drive,” you can find the latest generation of Driver Assistance Systems available, providing cooperative support to drivers and resulting in an especially high level of safety and convenience. Take, for example, the intelligent hands-off detection which uses sensors in the rim of the steering wheel to determine if the driver is holding the wheel and initiate Active Emergency Stop Assist when needed. Also available in some E-Classes, are Active Steering Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®, an adaptive cruise control system that automatically adjusts your speed for traffic ahead. In total, many of the driver assistance features offer a new level of automotive intelligence.

Adding to its progressive nature, the E 450 models have received a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder turbo engine with EQ Boost technology and a 48-volt onboard electrical system. The MBUX multimedia system incorporates Artificial Intelligence and optional Augmented Video for Navigation, projecting graphics like arrows and house numbers directly onto the image. 2021 LEXUS ES 350 - $41,025. - $42,925.

T

he ES 350 entered its 7th-generation in the year 2019 when the sedan underwent some major and thorough refurbishment. Now, it's been just 2 years since the new generation of the ES 350, the sedan parades into the year 2021 without any major changes. Basically, the Lexus ES’ platform is that of Toyota Avalon’s. However, this car’s longer wheelbase generates a more spacious interior, something the female drivers find very practical, particularly on the rear side. Even though the 2021 Lexus ES is a sedate offering in a segment dominated by legitimate sports sedans, it delivers what a certain group of luxury car buyers are looking for in terms of comfort, ride quality, and effortless cruising capability. Three powertrains are offered: A V-6 engine with 302-hp, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with all-wheel drive, or a hybrid setup that delivers fantastic fuel economy. As for luxury, the ES's cabin is a lovely space that's lined with fine materials, supportive seats, and plenty of technology features and connectivity options. Elsewhere, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is now standard on Ultra Luxury and F Sport models, a new Rich Cream interior color is available, and Lexus's Enform Safety Connect suite of connectivity features—including onboard Wi-Fi—is now standard across the entire range. Luxury-car buyers look for vehicles offering the latest and greatest tech features, and the 2021 Lexus ES doesn't disappoint. It comes standard with an infotainment system governed by an 8.0-inch central display, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability are onboard to provide hassle-free device integration. All models come with a 10-speaker sound system equipped with SiriusXM satellite radio. The list of standard tech amenities also includes Amazon Alexa compatibility, Bluetooth phone and music streaming, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Scout GPS Link navigation. The 2021 Lexus ES 350 holds a variety of safety measures and driver-assist systems. Lexus sells its safety systems under the umbrella name of “Lexus Safety System+ 2.0.” Features such as Pre-Collision System, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Assist, Road Sign Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Intelligent High Beams, and many more are available in the sedan. Lexus has also provid ed several other luxuries to keep the driver at ease during parking or reversing in crowded areas. The company also offers an optional package that holds services like Blind Spot Monitoring System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Intuitive Car Parking Assist. The car offers independent suspension leading to a smoother and comfy ride. Powered by a 3.5L V6 that makes 268 horsepower and delivers an estimated 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, the Lexus ES is an awesome choice. Also, this is partnered to a 6-speed sequential-shift automatic. On the other hand, the new ES 300h Hybrid runs on a 2.5L 4-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine that is mated to an electric motor. With this combination, the performance can go high up to an impressive 200 horsepower and gets approximate of 40 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.

2021 TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID - $25,025. - $30,830.

hen you think of a hybrid car, it’s likely that the Toyota Prius comes to mind. However, in recent years the Prius has gained a bevy of competitors, all of which have caught up to Toyota's electrified icon. The Hyundai Ioniq is more efficient, the Honda Insight drives better, and Toyota’s own Corolla Hybrid is cheaper and offers similar fuel economy. On top of all that, they all look miles more attractive than the Prius. Unless your idea of a fun time behind the wheel is seeing how little fuel you can use on your commute, don't count on the Prius to offer much in the way of driving pleasure. However, the Prius' spacious cabin and excellent fuel economy do keep it solidly competitive—and it's the only one of its direct rivals to offer optional all-wheel drive. And, of course, it brings Toyota’s reputation for reliability, making it a sensible purchase.

W

Women who have families go for the Toyota Prius. The 2021 Toyota Prius 2020 Edition is a limited, special model that

celebrates 20 years of the ground-breaking hybrid model's introduction to the United States for the 2001 model year. The company is producing just 2,020 of them. The 2020 Edition uses the Prius XLE FWD as a starting point, and this special version is available in either Supersonic Red or Wind Chill Pearl. Toyota dresses up the exterior with black trim, including on the B-pillars and mirror caps. There's a body-color rear spoiler. The vehicles ride on 17-in wheels with five, thick black spokes. The 2021 Prius also benefits from Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 driver assistance system. It includes pre-collision braking with low-light pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist, bicyclist detection, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. With a price that goes from $25,025 to $30,830, its fuel economy features are superb, reliability in its utmost wonder, and of course, the interior has got lots of space, making it a more than an efficient car for the family. The Prius is a work of art, no wonder its well-loved by many women, and even some men, too. Behind are Volkswagen Passat TDI, and Honda Accord. The more amazing thing about the Prius is that it’s beautifully engineered as the Porsche or BMW, although many people don’t look at it that way, this is actually a fact. Fuel economy wise, Prius has three forms – The Prius (standard), is a 4-door compact hatch. Second is the “Prius C”, which is smaller but can deliver a 4-door access for 5 occupants and a cargo space of 17 cubic feet. The third and the last is the “Prius V”, which is the biggest of the three. However, all models are powered by a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine connected to an electric motor.

2021 KIA TELLURIDE - $33,415. - $43,715.

T

he Kia Telluride has captivated me since its debut last year. This is Kia's biggest SUV, and, like most three-row midsize SUVs, it seats up to eight passengers. Other aspect of the 2021 Telluride does things a little nicer than the rest. Its cabin is luxury-like in its quality and the third-row seat can comfortably fit adults. The Telluride rides effortlessly and is equipped with the latest technology and safety highlights. There is a marvelous warranty and competitive pricing. The 2020 Telluride SX V6 AWD is a comfortable, capable and loyal family hauler. I fell in love with the Telluride after several thousand miles behind the wheel. The Telluride is a pleasant SUV to drive. Its V6 engine is responsive, though outright acceleration is ultimately average for a three-row SUV. In testing, the Telluride test vehicle sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds, which is similar to the acceleration of the Honda Pilot and Hyundai Palisade. The brakes are strong and can bring the Telluride to a halt in a hurry. They're also easy to modulate for consistent and smooth stops. The steering is light at parking-lot speeds and weights up naturally in turns. The Telluride is stable when going around turns and doesn't demonstrate unnecessary body roll. The engine's fuel-saving stop-start feature works smoothly and quietly. The Telluride offers a very roomy and upscale-feeling cabin with easy access to all three rows. Passenger space is excellent in both the second and third rows. The space feels more open thanks in part to the abundance of large windows. The front-passenger knee room is close. The controls are clearly labeled and arranged logically, but the driver has to stretch to reach the infotainment screen. Visibility is excellent thanks to plenty of large windows. The camera systems and parking sensors are wonderful extras. Tellurides come with numerous collision avoidance and mitigation systems as well as adaptive cruise control that operates down to a stop. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, with numerous USB ports that are spread across all three rows, although only one can transmit data. The optional wider infotainment screen (EX and up) looks sharp, and it comes with navigation that offers several useful features. The upgraded 10-speaker sound system is also excellent. The turn-signal camera display in the gauge cluster is less impressive. It's small, low-resolution and mostly redundant given the regular blind-spot monitoring system. The Telluride might be the best value in the class for what you get. From the driving experience to the interior to the standard and available features, at every price point you just get a little bit extra, and in top trims you get a near-luxury experience. Overall, we are very impressed with the quality of the Telluride. You also get Kia's impressive 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

2020 TESLA MODEL S Hybrid - $81,890. - $151,190.

T

he 2021 Tesla Model 3 is, without doubt, the one with the most name recognition. Acceleration is quick, and the Model 3's chassis is playful as well, which receives a sportier suspension and a track driving mode. But EV buyers are more likely interested in driving range than speediness or handling, and the Model 3 delivers. The base model offers up to 263 miles of driving range and the more expensive Long-Range model can go up to 353 per charge. Tesla is giving its entry level Model 3 sedan a host of enhancements for 2021, including exterior styling elements that have swapped bright chrome for satin black trim. Three new wheel designs give the rolling stock a fresh look, and the trunk lid is now power-operated. Appearance upgrades continue inside where the car's metallic door-sill protectors inherit the black satin trim to match the exterior. The Model 3's center console has been redesigned to accommodate two wireless smartphone charging pads, and the sun visors now use a magnet to hold them in place. The seat-adjustment controls and the steering-wheel-mounted infotainment scroll wheels have new finishes—the former in graphite colored paint and the latter in metal.. The base Standard Range Plus model now claims a driving range of 263 miles per charge, up from 250, while the LongRange model boasts a 353-mile range, 31 miles more than the 2020 model delivered. The steering is accurate and well weighted, with three different settings that adjust the level of steering effort. The ride is firm without being harsh; without the noise of a gas-powered engine, however, you do hear plenty of noise inside the cabin as the tires thwack and thrum over pavement imperfections. Three distinct Model 3 trims are offered, each with a different estimated driving range. The Standard Range Plus model is the most affordable, with a claimed range of 263 miles. Upgrading to the Long Range or Performance models increases the Model 3's estimated range to 315 miles for the Performance and an impressive 353 for the Long Range. Of course, this distance isn't easy to achieve, as we've found in our long-term long-range model 3 test vehicle. The Model 3 offers several different options for charging: Tesla's network of fast-charging stations called Superchargers, adapters for DC public-charging stations, 240- and 120-volt outlets, and a home-charging station. The various versions of the Model 3 are rated between 113 MPGe and 141 MPGe by the EPA. The Model 3 comes standard with aluminum wheels that are covered by plastic aerodynamic hubcaps. We wanted to know how much impact those hubcaps have on the car's driving range, so we tested it and were surprised to find that they help more than expected. The Tesla Model 3 is simple inside, controlled by the monolithic touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. The Tesla's low, flat floor makes for a spacious and airy feel inside. The front seats are supportive and comfortable, but the rear seats tight. Folding the 60/40 split-folding rear seats is simple and expands the trunk considerably. The seatbacks fold flat, providing an uninterrupted cargo floor for hauling larger items. With the rear seats folded, the Model 3 provides enough room for 15 carry-on suitcases. There are also generously sized bins and cubbies throughout the cabin. Navigation, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity are standard, but the Model 3 is oddly not available with AM radio or SiriusXM satellite radio. Several internet-streaming radio options are standard. It also can't be equipped with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. To make charging-station layovers more bearable, the Model 3 offers plenty of entertainment options. on its central display, including Netflix, YouTube, an

2021 FORD FUSION - $23,170. - $36,450.

T

he Ford Fusion is an appealing ride that catches the eye of many people who are looking for a car in the budget segment. The Fusion managed to stand out with plenty of safety and technology features on offer. There are four available engine options, two that are hybrids and, one of which can be configured with an all-wheel drive. There are few modifications to the 2021 line up, save for a few minor trim-dependent aesthetic tweaks. There are also six trim levels that span from basic to near luxury. The 2021 Ford Fusion offers remarkable versatility in a fiercely contested segment now. The 2021 Ford Fusion is expected to come with the same trim line-up, but Ford can certainly, add or subtract some features from the trims. The current Ford Fusion is offered in four trims namely: S, SE, SEL and Titanium. You also get an option of choosing between front-wheel and all-wheel drive configuration as well. However, the all-wheel-drive option is only available with the SE and the Titanium trim. With all trims, you get a 6-speed automatic transmission. There might be no to minimal changes with the 2021 line-up. Ford also offers a performance model called the V6 Sport for us car enthusiasts which develops 325-hp and is nothing less than exhilarating to drive. The 2021 Ford Fusion will get the same engine options as the 2020 model. The reason for this is probably the fact that Ford d oes not want to invest in the sedan segment due to the SUV demand plunder. Powertrain offerings with the current Fusion start with a 175hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a competent six-speed automatic transmission, and a front-wheel-drive setup. Front-wheel drive as standard, while all-wheel drive will be available with the top of the line 2.0-liter engine. However, even the top trim is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission which is quick shifting but could have certainly done with more gears. The current Fusion is available in a Hybrid setup which uses a 2.0-liter motor along with an electric motor. It develops a combined power of 188 hp and comes with a 1.4-kwh battery pack. The top trim (Titanium) gets a bigger batter pack which offers a 26 mile pure electric range. The Sport model which boasted of a 325-hp twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 and an all-wheel drive was discontinued, and we do not see it returning back anytime soon. Expect the 2021 Fusion to return the same fuel efficiency numbers as there are no changes to be made in the powertrain. From a diesel drinking twin-turbo V-6 to a penny-pinching plug-in hybrid with a double-digit electric vehicle ranges, the Fusion's powertrains has covered a lot of roads in the past. The dependence on turbocharged gasoline engines in most versions could me an that drivers would have a tough time replicating EPA fuel-economy numbers on the tarmac. Our test vehicle with the base engine delivered a 26-mpg result over a 200-mile highway fuel-economy test, and the plug-in Energi managed a notable 39 mpg.

2021 MERCEDES BENZ GLE SUV – $55,800.

T

he 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE-class offers a spacious, family-friendly cabin and off-road credentials. Three different powertrains are offered, starting with a turbocharged four-cylinder in the GLE350 and graduating to a turbocharged inline-six in the GLE450 and a twin-turbo V-8 in the top-dog GLE580. The GLE-class has an adjustable air suspension that features a bouncing mode to help the SUV free itself from deep sand or mud—but these options can add up in a hurry. The GLE-class's cabin is spacious, luxurious, and comfortable, while the exterior styling transmits a signal of wealth and status that buyers expect of any car sporting the three-pointed star on its grille. Ambient interior lighting, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and SiriusXM satellite radio are standard.New this year is a parking damage detection system that notifies the owner via the Mercedes me smartphone app if the GLE is jostled while parked. The GLE350 models are powered by a 255-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine with either rear-or all-wheel drive (4Matic in Mercedes parlance) and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The GLE450 brings standard all-wheel drive and a 362-hp hybrid powertrain that consists of a turbocharged inline-six and a novel 48-volt electrical system. The 2020 GLE350 takes 6.6 seconds to reach 60 mph and the six-cylinder GLE450 managed a 5.3-second time. The 48-volt system combines with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 to make up to 504 horsepower. Every GLE-class can be outfitted with a cutting-edge air-suspension system that can lean into corners and even wiggle itself loose if the driver gets it stuck in sand or mud. The standard setup is traditional steel springs and anti-roll bars. The six-cylinder GLE450 rates 21/26/23 mpg city/highway/combined. The four-cylinder GLE350 rates 19/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined, while the GLE580 earns ratings of 17/22/19 mpg. The GLE350 4Matic returned 25 mpg, and the GLE450 4Matic delivered 23 mpg. The fine materials such as genuine leather, woods, and metals impart a sense of true luxury. Not only can the front seats be heated, but the armrests and center-console lid can too, quickly taking the chill out of a frigid winter morning. The spacious interior can now be outfitted with an optional third row of seats and features modern Mercedes technology, carries at least 11 carry-on suitcases in the cargo hold. With all seats folded to their flat positions, the GLE-class offers room for up to 26 carry-ons. Dual 12.3-inch infotainment displays offer several ways to interact with the system, including the MBUX voice-recognition system. Like Apple's Siri or Google's virtual assistant, MBUX can respond to many commands, thus enabling the driver to keep his or her hands on the wheel but still turn up the heat, switch on the ventilated-seat function, or tune to a specific radio station. A touchpad on the center console allows for tactile interaction with the infotainment system, and the screen is also touch-sensitive. Navigating is better done when the GLE-class is parked. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are all standard, which makes keeping up with calls, texts, and other communications while on the go a little easier.

NEW 2024 HUMMER EV SUV - $79,995. - $105.995.

T

he 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is an all-electric reimagining of one of the most iconic, bad-ass off-road machines of the last century. While the Hummer brand now lives under the GMC umbrella, its unmistakable design and remarkable off-road capabilities are faithfully upheld in EV form. It is arguably more impressive thanks to the SUV's advanced technology, incredible power output, and innovative features, including four-wheel steering. The reinvented Hummer is its Ultium battery tech, which provides quick charging times and a massive battery pack that provides an estimated range of 300-plus miles. Inside the cabin, is a mix of hightech content and removable roof panels that create an open-air experience. Unfortunately, the 2024 Hummer EV SUV won't go on sale for another couple of years, but GMC has released pricing and is currently accepting reservations. Based on the Hummer EV pickup truck–and hinted at by the superscript in their model names–the SUV version will be powered by two or three electric motors. The EV2 and EV2X have the dual-motor setup that generates an estimated 625 horsepower and what GM is claiming to be 7400 pound-feet of torque. The EV3X and the Edition 1 have a trio of motors (one up front and two out back) with a claimed 830 ponies and 11,500 pound-feet. We expect maximum torque ratings to range between 1000 and 1100 pound-feet. The most powerful Hummer EV SUV also has a claimed zero-to-60-mph time of approximately 3.5 seconds, which is seriously quick for a machine this big and heavy. It'll also inherit our favorite off-road goodies from the truck version, including four-wheel steering with CrabWalk and an adjustable air suspension with Extract mode that can raise it 6 inches. There’s a full-size spare tire mounted on the rear gate. There’s also an optional Extreme Off-Road package that brings special hardware that includes 18-inch wheels on 35-inch all-terrain tires, extra underbody protection, low-mounted cameras for improved visibility while maneuvering, enhanced axles with heavy-duty components, a locking front differential, and rear motors that can electronically mimic a locked diff. Every Hummer is equipped with a eco-friendly Ultium battery. The new model features a standard 400-volt electrical system, it's also offered with the 800-volt system that comes standard on every other trim. The Hummer EV will have a huge 200.0-kWh battery pack. Along with fast charging speeds of up to 300 kW, the electrified SUV has a claimed driving range of over 300 miles. The interior of the Hummer EV SUV is part rugged and part Sci-Fi. Its three-dimensional dashboard boasts vertical and horizontal air vents and a pair of large displays that include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The materials in the top-of-the-line Edition 1 are upscale, with leather-stitched surfaces and bronze accents. The Hummer's cabin is its removable roof panels. Called the Infinity Roof, the system allows users to lift off the four transparent Sky Panels and the I-bar above the front-seat passengers. The storage under the load floor and the SUV Hummer has expansive 82 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded. The Hummer's cutting-edge electric technology will be complemented by a large 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and extensive connectivity options. Content such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot is expected to come standard. We'd also expect available upgrades to include a powerful Bose stereo, built-in navigation, a rear-seat infotainment system, and wireless charging. The SUV Hummer is also available with a 6.0-kW onboard generator that can be used to power all sorts of equipment and even charge other EVs.

1000 Miglia 2021 – Stage 2

Rome, June 18th, 2021 Statement by Stellantis Chairman John Elkann and his wife Lavinia Borromeo “The pleasure of driving the Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint and the beauty of this country stop this very long stage from tiring us out too much. We’ll remember passing by Bolgheri and the magic of the twinkling lights of the Italian capital. We were moved most of all by the warmth of Rome’s welcome, the same welcome we were given throughout the day in every village, in every town and on every road, at all times of the day: a sign of the passion beautiful cars stir up in us Italians.” At dawn from Viareggio It was a short stint on the Versilia Riviera and the convoy took back to the road at first light, saying goodbye to Viareggio with an image representing its local flavor: passing by the “Carnival Citadel” constituted a truly picturesque start to the day. The race then veered toward Pisa along the River Arno before it returned to the seaside, although every kilometer in the 1000 Miglia is full of surprises. What other race, what other country in the world can produce the spectacle of a museum on four wheels, running along the cypress-lined Viale dei Cipressi? Along the Aurelia highway, from the Oratory of San Guido to the picturesque historic center of Bolgheri, with the sunlight meandering through the ancient cypresses and caressing the sculptural forms of the Giulia GTA. A design intermingling aesthetics and function The specificities that have always marked out an Alfa Romeo creation definitely include design unique in the world for its basis in the skillful combination of form and function. The car’s style must correspond to an overarching tenet of beauty, to transcend the passing of time, while maintaining functionality to the advantage of aerodynamic and mechanical efficiency. This maxim is epitomized in the Giulia GTA, where specific processes on both the bodywork and interior are aimed at magnifying the bold spirit of the Quadrifoglio version, on which it is based. The shafts of light along the route brought out the bold front, the iconic “trilobo” with its slots edging the badge, and on the sides, the carbon fiber side skirts, broadened front fender and the clearly visible carbon fiber on the rear wheel arches that accentuate the car’s “size impression”, with an image of power and dynamism. Lightness, aerodynamics and handling on every road The salutation made to Tuscany was worthy of such a journey: perched on a tufa sandstone cliff, Pitigliano bode farewell to the convoy that then made its way into Lazio, onto the roads of the Etruscan heartlands. The route included the usual hourly checks on the western shores of Lake Bolsena and arrival in Viterbo, with the punching taking place in its Piazza del Comune. From Lake Bolsena to Lake Vico, the highest of the great lakes of Italy at more than 500 m above sea level. The horsepower of the Giulia GTA is likewise more than 500, 540 indeed: power and total control on the roads as they pass ancient towns and rolling green hills. The constantly striking panoramic views seen on the 1000 Miglia change from one moment to the next. But an arrival in Rome can very rarely be equaled, rewarding the crews for all their toils. Alfa Romeo: beauty and timeless appeal As always, busy roads and more excitement, but the traffic and city police were patient and kind as they escorted and directed the convoy through the city streets. The 1000 Miglia is a celebration open to all, and all the extra work is done with a smile, in the knowledge those doing so are bearing witness to a rare event. After all, it isn’t every day you can see parading before the Villa Borghese the 6C 1500 Super Sport (1928), the 1900 Sport Spider (1954), the 2000 Sportiva (1954) and the 1900 Sport Spider (1956), driven by exceptional crews, with the very best of Alfa Romeo’s current models alongside. Another magic moment in the 1000 Miglia, immortalized in an instant on the smartphones of the fans waiting for the convoy to pass by. Almost like another go at the flashbulbs of Fellini’s paparazzi, it is no coincidence that Alfa Romeo models of every era are at their ease, like the timeless stars they are.

In our 1st Edition The Alfa Romeo Giulia review and photo was recognized from Car & Driver magazine but they are not given credit. https://www.caranddriver.com/alfa-romeo/giulia-quadrifoglio I'm sure this is just an oversight by one of our team members, but we wanted to let you know about it. We apologize and it will never happen again. Thank you for your support.

ExxonMobil and Porsche Test LowerCarbon Fuel in Race Conditions Media: Exxon Mobil Newsroom

IRVING, Texas / STUTTGART, Germany – ExxonMobil and Porsche are testing advanced biofuels and renewable, lowercarbon eFuels, as part of a new agreement to find pathways toward potential future consumer adoption. • Esso Renewable Racing Fuel to be tested in Porsche’s high-performance motorsports engines in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2021 • Companies to advance eFuel development with potential for greenhouse gas reduction • eFuels to be produced using hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide • New agreement builds on 25-year relationship of developing and testing high-performance products The first iteration of Esso Renewable Racing Fuel is a blend of primarily advanced biofuels and is specially formulated by ExxonMobil’s in-house team of scientists and engineers. Analysis indicates the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions with a liquid fuel. The fuel will be tested in race conditions with Porsche’s high-performance motorsports engines during the 2021 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race series. Porsche and ExxonMobil’s collaboration will also focus on eFuels, which are synthetic fuels made from hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide. As early as 2022, the companies plan to test the second iteration of Esso Renewable Racing Fuel, which will contain eFuel components. The eFuel is anticipated to achieve a greenhouse gas emissions reduction of up to 85 percent, when blended to current market fuel standards for today’s passenger vehicles. “The electrification of our vehicles is of highest priority to us,” said Michael Steiner, Member of the Executive Board, Research and Development of Porsche. “eFuels are a good complement to our powertrain strategy. They allow our customers to drive cars with conventional combustion engines as well as plug-in hybrids with significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions. The collaboration with ExxonMobil enables us to test the eFuels under demanding conditions on the racing track. This is a further step towards making eFuels an affordable and lower greenhouse gas emission substitute to conventional fuels.” The eFuel will be sourced from the Haru Oni pilot plant based in Chile that generates hydrogen, which is then combined with captured carbon dioxide drawn from the atmosphere to produce methanol. ExxonMobil is providing a license and support for the proprietary technology to convert the methanol to gasoline, which will result in a lower-carbon fuel. In the pilot phase, around 35,000 gallons of eFuels will be produced in 2022. As the fuel’s primary user, Porsche will use the eFuels from Chile among others in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup starting in the season of 2022. “Over the past quarter century, we have worked together with Porsche to develop high-performance products that support Porsche’s vehicle performance on the racetrack and on the road,” said Andy Madden, vice president of strategy and planning for ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants. “Our continued collaboration on renewable and eFuels is a critical step in assessing the technical capability and commercial viability of fuels that can significantly reduce emissions.” The collaboration with Porsche builds on ExxonMobil’s continuing efforts to develop and deploy lower-emission energy solutions, including high-efficiency fuels and lubricants, advanced plastics and other products that can enable cars and trucks to use less fuel. For example, the two companies have collaborated on a line of specially formulated lubricants for the electric vehicles market, Mobil EVTM range. ## (Continued on page 75)

Do You Crave A Texas Road Trip! Picturesque Road Trips That Are An Absolute Must-Take With summer fast approaching, that means it’s time to start planning some epic road trips with your friends and family! Luckily, Texas offers many fun-filled road trips, whether you want to go hiking, tubing, sight-seeing, or just drive through the beautiful countryside. If you’re short on ideas for road trips, put these 12 Texas road trips on your to-do list!

Dinosaur Valley State Park Walk in the tracks of dinosaurs along the Paluxy River in Glen Rose, just outside of Fort Worth. You can actually see old dinosaur tracks in the riverbed, and track sites are clearly marked on a map so you can easily locate the footprints of these ancient creatures. Probably one of the coolest road trips you will ever take.

Enchanted Rock This giant mount of molten magma is an absolute mustsee for every Texan; while you're in Fredericksburg, you can also explore this charming small town full of bakeries with a German flair, mainstreet boutiques, and familyowned peach orchards.

Cascade Caverns Take a tour of this cave system just north of San Antonio; if you want to beat the Texas summer heat, this is a perfect way to do it, since the cave doesn't get about 64 degrees all year round.

West Texas You'll have to drive pretty far to get here, but it's well-worth it to see the Guadalupe Mountains, Big Bend National Park, and the Franklin Mountains in El Paso. You can also go down into Marfa and check out the famous Marfa lights.

East Texas East Texas has its own smalltown country charm, with hundreds of miles of thick forests, towering pine trees, and little towns to stop in for some serious southern comfort food done right. From Beaumont it takes about 4 hours to reach Texarkana, so this makes for a perfect family road trip, and you can stay at a bed and breakfast somewhere along the way to get the full East Texas experience.

Corpus Christi Take a drive into South Texas and relax on some of the best beaches in the state, see aquatic life up-close-andpersonal at the Texas State Aquarium, or take a tour of the famous USS Lexington battle ship, now transformed into a museum.

Texas Hill Country With so much to see in this part of a state, a road trip to the hill country is definitely in order. Drive through the cascading hills of Marble Falls, tube the Guadalupe, Comal and San Marcos Rivers, explore the many state parks in the area such as Pedernales Falls, or spend the day splashing and sliding at Schlitterbahn. The beauty of the hill country is just something everyone should experience, especially in the summertime.

Austin, Texas Arguably the best city in Texas, you will never get bored in the capital city. Eat at some of the most unique restaurants in the state, see the bats fly out from under the Congress Ave Bridge in the summer, take a tour of the Texas Capitol Building, visit one of the many music festivals held in the city, or go paddle-boarding on Lady Bird Lake. Oh, and if you really can't find anything to do, you could always get a tattoo (there's a shop on almost every street in Austin).

Houston Texas You can eat almost every single kind of cuisine in the world and never even leave this city. Aside from the wide variety of food, Houston also has one of the largest gallerias in the country for the shopaholics out there, plus plenty of museums and theaters for art and science lovers

Paris, Texas You don't have to go to France to see the Eiffel Tower..we have our own little replica right here in Paris, Texas! In addition to this widely popular landmark, you can also tour the historic district with beautiful old homes, art galleries, museums, and shopping at the Town Square.

Amarillo, Texas Drive along the legendary Route 66 in the Texas Panhandle, which will take you 178 miles through old ghost towns and historic relics and attractions, such as the Devil's Rope Museum and Phillip's 66 Service Station in McLean, Bugg Ranch in Conway, and the highlyvisited Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. While I-40 has replaced much of the original route, some remnants of 66 parallel the interstate as a frontage road.

San Antonio, TX. This city is overflowing with a mix of the Spanish culture, lively nightlife, fun family attractions, and historic sites like The Alamo. Top things to do include taking a stroll down the River Walk, trying the delicious authentic Mexican food, visiting SeaWorld and Six Flags, and sight-seeing in the historic districts of the city.

ATLAS MOUNTAIN ROAD, MOROCCO

ATLAS MOUNTAIND ROAD, MOROCCO The Dades Gorge in Morocco is beautiful to look at, but not while you’re driving this twisty-turvy road. You could end up being a part of the Gorge. You can also explore the High Atlas and its scenic appeal by driving through a switchback of hairpin curves that connect Marrakech to the pre-Sahara through the mountain range. The most spectacular drive is the Tizi n Test ROAD, weaving its way through the Atlas, over the Tizi , Test pass at 2092 meters (6,870 ft.) then down onto the Souss plains. Along the way you can explore the superb crumbling Kasbah of Telout – the most spectacular sight in the High Atlas.

6 Tasty Road Trip Foods POPCORN Popcorn is a great choice for the car: You can take a handful and concentrate on the road without much fuss. This recipe with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and aromatic extra-virgin olive oil with freshly ground black pepper is way more delicious than the standard stale bagged version you’ll find at the gas station. Photo and recipe from Food Republic

MINI ROASTED VEGGIE BURRITI Pack a burrito for the road! Easy to hold with one hand and full of tasty roasted vegetables. This recipe has red and green roasted peppers, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and cumin, for extra flavor. Use small six-inch flour tortillas to make mini burritos that you can easily pack in a Ziploc, plastic container or some tinfoil. Photo and recipe from Food Republic

CHEESE CRACKERS These homemade cheese crackers are so good you’ll wonder why you never tried them before. They are great for on the road snacks. You can substitute whole grain or spelt flour to make them even more nutritious, and onion powder adds some nice seasoning alongside the grated sharp cheddar. Photo and recipe from Leite’s Culinaria

SUGAR COOKIES Everyone loves a good cookie. My favorite cookie for my on the road trips are plain ole butter cookies. Sometimes you want to snack on something sweet while you’re on the road. These are a lot better for you than any packaged cookies (no preservatives, less salt, no artificial flavorings) so you don’t have to feel guilty if you pack a few and stow them in the glove box. Photo and recipe from Food Republic

TASY PRETZELS You won’t reach for the bag of Rold Gold after you try these amazing soft pretzels (though dipping sauces aren’t recommended while driving). Pretzels are a lot easier to make than most people think and have very few ingredients, things that you probably already have on hand: flour, water, yeast, salt, butter, and sugar. You can make the traditional pretzel shape or get creative and make any shape that suits your fancy. Photo and recipe from Catch My Party

POWER BARS What is easy to hold in your hand, stuffed with nuts and fruit and other healthy goodies? I suggest you pack some delicious granola bars! Check out the nature valley selections. They are the best. I even add tiny bite size pieces of chopped chocolate chunks to make it even more delicious. Photo and recipe from Food Republic

LOS CARACOLES PASS, CHILE, ARGENTINA

LOS CARACOLES PASS, CHILE, ARGENTINA This road passes through Andes between Chile and Argentina. Los Caracoles is a series of ascends with an extremely steep slope. This road has many slopes and sharp turns without fences security. This road is snow covered almost all year. Snow together with the natural landscape requires extreme patience and driving skill to drive in emergency situations. However, this road is maintained in working condition, which significantly reduces the number of accidents on it. Trucks and even double-decker tourist buses travel daily on this road.
