Jesus is our hope and comes to us through Mary Dear Carmelites, in this Advent that we have begun, we have the mission to be prepared to announce to the world that the Kingdom of God is present because whoever born is Jesus, our King, and that, in the face of acts of violence, corruption and individual interests who overwhelm our people, the interest of service, justice, charity, LOVE, respect, dignity and our rights must prevail. In this stage of pandemic, economic, health and political crisis, we recognize that life is a constant beginning and over again. Maybe every day, every hour and every minute has to become a decisive time. But always keeping in mind that we are invited to live with hope. Sisters and brothers, it is time to prepare ourselves so that our life is a permanent CHRISTMAS, may Jesus be born every day in our hearts and in our homes; and that this is the best way to be“attentiveandvigilant”sothatnoonestealsourHOPE,andmaytheLordfindusawakein prayer, united in the great love that He has for us. May God bless us and may our Mother, the Virgin of Carmen, join us. Fray Miguel Bacigalupo del Corral, O. Carm. President

Living Christmas as a family is having Jesus in our home

ChristmasforallCatholicsreflectsmuchhope, joyandenthusiasmtocompleteaperiodo life or work with great achievements. It evokes the bonds of affection and tenderness in the family atmosphere and friendship with everyone around us.

However, this culminating year has made us understand the important role that the family fulfills in the support, guidance and strengthening of its members in situations of extre hardship and care. We have put aside the individual educational and work activity and we have shared and organized times in the same space to be able to specify the responsibilities of each one. Appreciate moments that were so common and perhaps routine before; talk on the way to the school as children, fellow students, work colleagues or parents; participate in a game or read in a recess space, the warmth of the classroom with the hubbub of their colleagues, seek advice and guidance from our teachers, seek a moment of prayer in the chapel. Undoubtedly, this stage of remote work has provided us with great learnings not only technological but personal, it has allowed us to grow in will and patience, respecting others by protecting and caring for them, understanding the fragility of life and valuing what is essential. These dates should focus on four moments to live Christmas, four tips Pope Francis mentions to take into account: • As a Christian family, as well as Mary and Joseph; let’s get ready to receive, listen and speak with Jesus. Let us be ready to be with Him, protect Him and grow with Him and thus improve the world. • Share the joy of these holidays, the rest is not the most important. • Jesus from the humility of a manger came to protect us. • Let Christmas be a party to open our hearts and welcome Jesus who is born in a manger. Let this be a date in which we can live the true sense of Christmas as a family, that unites us with much strength of spirit and will to come out in front of all vicissitude and that we can, with our actions, improve our reality. Merry Christmas Carmelite Family and a Happy New Year. Miss Norma Soberón Calero Principal

To the teacher Miguel Sierra Rivera with affection This year we fondly said goodbye to our teacher Miguel Sierra Rivera, who became part of the Carmelite family in March 2000. Miguel accompanied us for 20 years and we will always remember his singular phrase: “May the force accompany you”, when starting an activity or when saying goodbye after a meeting. In his years as a teacher he received many new students and saw promotions leave, whom he had trained with discipline, but also with a lot of love. His students and friends will never forget seeing him walking with his black backpack in the back, a backpack that today must keep the best anecdotes of him as a Carmelite teacher. As a sign of the affection we have for him, the school directors, teachers and others companions share with Miguel, a fraternal farewell remembering the pleasant moments that he gave us. Goodbye Master Miguel!

Responsible digital citizenship At the Elementary level, the Project was carried out: “We Leave Our Digital Footprint with Responsibility, which consisted of an awareness campaign for our children to understand and agree to use the internet responsibly.

This commitment had the enthusiastic support of the parents who are the first responsi taking care of the content and activities of their children when they are in front of a computer.

The teachers explained to the children about the benefits and dangers of the internet, an to act in dangerous situations. Our students appreciated the importance of being courteous and respectful to others when they are online, because at all times we have to behave as good digital citizens.

Christmas is peace, happiness and joy in Jesus “The people who walked in darkness saw a great light; those who inhabited dark lands, a light shone on them” (Is, 9,1). Christmas is a time of grace to live and share the faith as a family. God in his infinite love, decides to become a man to illuminate us with the light of a child that is born, and prostrated fromamanger, enlightensourheartsthusrippingdarknessandfeartofloodthemwithpeace and joy. A child, yes, just a child, is capable of increasing our happiness and make the joy to increase in us by knowing that God has visited us, and that despite the challenges that we had to live during this pandemic, as a family and as a society, we began to see the light and the signs of hope that this child brings to each of our homes. We are a family, and our hearts and desires are revealed in the light of this child, who invites us to live the faith by sharing the great things that God has done in us and valuing the details of life because in the city of Bethlehem a light shines that announces that has born the Savior. Yes, He, the Savior. In the face of the pain and grief that the world suffers from the pandemic, this child who “rests in a manger” becomes our only joy and hope to continue our educational mission, recognizing that He is our true food, ourtruelifeandthereasonforourexistence. Therefore, the peace that he brings us transforms our life provoking in us the desire to build a new world where there is room for all. The joy and happiness that this child provokes in us makes our hearts to cry out Come Lord Jesus, don’t be late! Merry Christmas everyone! Father Floristan Guerrero, O. Carm. Deputy Director of Training
