_xààxÜ yÜÉÅ exz|ÉÇtÄ W|ÜxvàÉÜ “Parisian Heartache” Last month my letter was about not getting lost in the busy day to day; about taking time “between flights” to chill and have a moment for yourself…… This month, I want to focus on flying again. Later this month, I will be flying to the City of Lights. I know I have talked about Paris before, but only because this marvelous city means so much to me. I anxiously await stepping into the heart of this city again, where I left a piece of my soul years ago. 24 days now, and counting… While studying trend forecasting and color theory in college, I discovered this amazing city in only the way a “resident” can. I found off-beat cafes, hole in the wall shops, un-touristy parks, and savored the best café au lait the city had to offer. Since my time there (almost 8 years ago), I have literally hurt for this city I miss so much… sometimes my heart literally begging me to jump a flight and reacquaint myself with this magical place. I have since gone back on little weekenders while traveling through Europe, but have never had the opportunity to really LIVE like the Parisians (and I did) since. Sadly, I never probably will again. Although a piece of me will always reside in this fabulous city, I really do love the life I have created here. Sunny California weather, lazy days at the beach, and the calm lifestyle San Diego offers. Sometimes I wish our city would have more of an emphasis on fashion like my beloved Paris does. How fabulous would it be to have couture the way they do!? Chanel, Lanvin, Gautier, Valentino… A multitude of icons come from this amazing city. Is it to much to ask that we have at least one?? A girl can dream… I’m sure as our city grows and as we fashionistas band together, we will create fabulousness here too. Ok, maybe not ever achieving greatness the way the City of Lights has, but in our own unique way. Until then we will keep working hard, and visiting (as often as possible) this inspirational city which means so much to me and many others… Paris, I will see you soon. Bon Voyage!
