FGI San Diego Newsletter - December 2012

_xààxÜ yÜÉÅ exz|ÉÇtÄ W|ÜxvàÉÜ Hello FGI San Diego! December is here. That should mean it’s every fashionista’s favorite time of year… Shopping for those perfect gifts, searching for truly fabulous holiday finds, and unearthing the most glorious wrapping paper imaginable. As a devout holiday shopper, I take my job very serious, trying to have all my shopping done by December 1st, all gifts wrapped under the tree by the following week and holiday décor in impeccable shape for all the holiday guests. This year however, is proving to be a bit more challenging than in years past… This year has never seemed to stop flying by. I seem to be working around the clock (a good thing for a consultant!), I’m busy as ever, and I never seem to have the time to accomplish everything I have before. As I sit here writing this, my house holds no Christmas Tree, no holiday décor, and my holiday shopping is far from done (let’s not even think about the wrapping). My typically organized life is going up in flames. I keep telling myself I’m going to hire a full-time assistant to help keep me sane, and yet I can’t even find the time to interview! What is a fashionable girl to do!? ANSWER: Go online. My new loves are Gifts.com and Pinterest. Who knew so many unique gifts and ideas were at my fingertips? These websites are saving my holiday crisis! Gifts ordered, décor decided, holiday décor boxes out, Christmas Tree is coming soon… Chill Pill taken! Sometimes being a fashionista can be quite stressful. Wishing each of you fellow fashionistas, a wonderful, stress-free Holiday Season...

_xààxÜ yÜÉÅ Xw|àÉÜ IT’S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am in complete agreement with our fashionabulous RD Julie...time has been flying by! It’s seems like just yesterday I agreed to take on editing our newsletter and here I am putting the finishing touches on the 5th issue already! Half a year! Goodness! I’ve been getting a lot of feedback on the newsletter and would love to get even more. This is most importantly OUR publication. It’s designed to be a perk for members, a tool to entice new members and an outlet to share all of the great things that San Diego has to offer in the fashion world. If there’s something you’d like to see in the newsletter, please email us! Send messages directly to the newsletter at FGIsandiegoNewlsetter@gmail.com In the meantime, here’s hoping that your holiday season goes as smoothly as you want it to be and may whatever gifts you receive for whatever holiday you do or don’t celebrate be the MOST fashionable (and the word ‘couture’ in there can’t hurt either) Happy Holidays and see you again in the New Year! Have a fashionabulous month!!! Until next time...

ax|ÅtÇ `tÜvâá@`xÅuxÜá bÇÄç exvtÑ FGI San Diego Members and the utmost fashionable ladies of San Diego were invited to attend the resort trend presentation by AnaMaria Pimental, former Accessories Director of Harpers Bazaar and now Fashion Director of Women’s Accessories of Neiman Marcus in New York. Amidst delectable cocktails and scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, the presentation brought all the best that women’s wear, accessories, hand bags and shoes had to offer this resort season. Two of the biggest trends were the cobalt and black combination with the richness of the blue almost glowing compared to the inkiness of the black. And citrus hues still played a huge role in fashion bringing out not only orange, but bright red/orange and even day-glo green. It was a fashion event not-to-be-missed as it ended with an exclusive meet-and-greet with AnaMaria herself!

jxáày|xÄw hgV@ ZÜtÇw ex@bÑxÇ|Çz When the Who’s Who of fashion are invited out to a fashionable party, you just know that the place is going to be full of FGI San Diego members (we are the most fashionable after all!). The same was true for Westfield UTC’s Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Thursday, November 15th. After going through its extensive renovations, UTC opened up its airy doors to welcome shoppers to experience the resort that it has become. From gorgeous local plant life in their desert garden to high end stores now taking residence (Hello Tiffany’s!) to a cinematic experience on par with the elegance of UTC (ArcLight Cinemas), UTC has become the most beautiful shopping center in all of San Diego! And FGI members were there to support! Adding to the extravaganza, a fashion show MC’d by the one and only Guiliana Rancic and an out-of-this-world live performance by Natasha Bedingfield made it a night to remember!
