his issue marks our two year anniversary in Second Life®. I think that we have grown and become a fashion organization that has set the bar for the best in any virtual world, and I am so proud. I’m proud of our elite team of artists, photographers, stylists, and bloggers. I am honored to work with our models and supermodels. It thrills me to work closely with designers and music productions for our virtually acclaimed fashion weekends. Ferosh started as a dream – a whisper of thought, hope, and love. Now, Ferosh is a lion – a roar. I am so proud of everything Ferosh has been able to achieve and of the people who hold it together. I would like to thank all our supporters from those who have outwardly shared their loyalty, to those who clap silently with their hearts. Fashion in Second Life® is continuously evolving. I will admit that there are times when I miss the flexy materials which provided movement and flow to gowns and skirts. I miss the avant garde designs of full collections which designers released in their main stores. The addition

of mesh, along with monthly events, has seemed to flatten the artistry of many products that consumers used to create their fashion dreams. However, if a person knows where to look and what to buy, anything is possible. Anything. Thus, our trend issue is a guide to the hottest real life Fashion Trends for each corresponding season. It should be used as a reference on where to buy the items needed to stay current and in style. For those who are more artistically inclined, we have some of the best artists contained within the pages of this beast of a compendium.

I love fashion. More specifically, I love Second Life速 fashion. I feel so blessed to be able to participate in something this consuming and creative. Ferosh will always remain Ferosh. And, as a part of our duty, we will continue to dream of our new projects, our new goals, and our new inspirations. I would much prefer Ferosh fail terribly at a new project that has not been done, than to excel in one that another organization is producing. I consider Ferosh its own fashion island. When you come to us for your fashion experiences, you will enter into a new world where fashion, love, and friendship are our pillars of strength. I think that with these intentions in mind, we have become an unstoppable force. Come visit our island. Have fun with us. And, you too may find how to be Ferosh.

Spring/Summer

TRENDS

Spring/Summer has come again,

and real life fashion weekends from our previous winter gave

us insight on what’s hot and

what’s not for this season. Our talented and unique Ferosh

photographers and stylist seem to outdo themselves with each

progressing issue. This spring we dip our toes in the dark shadows of mystery and then the bright side of Miami beaches.

This season is packed full of

versatile styles! We hope you find something that captures

your interests and inspires you to dress your best.

ach issue of Ferosh gets stronger and stronger as our team grows and our talents progress. I came into this issue excited for several reasons, mostly because I was sick of seeing the same coat in black being created, photographed, and blogged over and over again but also because spring is a time of new beginnings. The world of fashion gives the autumn seasons an incredible level of hype but dumbs down the season of spring. Spring brings a whole new array of color, prints, patterns, and silhouettes not just to the runways but to the universe. This is why I love being part of the spring issue year after year!

We have exceptional new talent that has joined us for this issue along with our returning photographers and stylists who never fail to disappoint! Issue after issue we repeat the same thing, “this is the best issue to date”, but it’s true. Our team has pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones to create brand new looks and concepts for what I consider the strongest issue of Ferosh to date. For my ‘Vision’ this season I wanted to share with you, our readers, ways of pairing together the trends we have chosen for this issue. Whether it’s how to wear your favorite white shirt with stripes or channeling a balance between hard and soft with the color pink, Ferosh has you covered.

Photographer: Magissa Denver

Thank you to the Ferosh team for making this yet another fantastic issue and for putting your hearts and souls into creating a masterpiece. But most importantly, thank you to our readers and occasional skimmers who keep Ferosh alive and well for the past two years. We hope this issue inspires you as you spring forward into the upcoming months of vibrant colors and new beginnings!

The Reinvented Classic + Super Stripes Combining stripes with a white shirt is

such an easy thing to do but the key to

successfully combining these trends for

spring is adding color and keeping your look streamline. You can do this with pieces

like this tucked in white shirt by Le Primitif, vertical striped skinnies by Ricielli, and

an over the shoulder striped jacket by Coco.

The

Combining the Americana and exposed shoulder trends seems like a natural fit in the land of red, white, and blue where people are free to bare their arms, pun intended. Embrace the American spirit in an empire waist, shoulder baring top

Victorian

Pairing the Latin and Victorian trends together seems like an unlikely fit but, when done properly, it can be a successful look from head to toe!

Try this look by pairing an intricate Victorian-

inspired top like this one from Ison with a Latin

detailed skirt like this one from Zafair and complete the look with over the top jewels by Mandala.

add a bright colored bag like this one by Mowie.

Hard Vs. Soft + Prett y In Pink Hard vs. Soft was my favorite

trend for this issue because it’s

such a juxtaposition of two conflicting styles and when adding pink into the mix it takes it

to the next level! Combine these trends for a high fashion look by pairing this Seul mini dress with a biker jacket by Coco and

over the knee boots by Maitreya.

Princess

In The 2000’s + Vibrant Orange Fashion should be fun and what’s more

fun than the ridiculous fashions of the

early 2000’s and vibrant tones of orange?! These trends go hand in hand for

an explosive combination of over the top, so-tacky-its-chic style moments. Look the part in some low rise cargo trousers

by Pixicat and a neon orange barely-

there crop by 1992, take your look to the

next level in a fur stole by Vive Nine.

ummer is the official season of baring skin. As soon as the temperature climbs up, we find ourselves boxing our chunky sweaters and dusting off our crop tops, tanks, minis, and shorts. Giambattista Valli, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, and Stella McCartney give sexy a whole new definition: proving that you don't need to show a whole lot of skin with pieces that glorify the shoulders. You can tell that this trend is becoming a huge hit since makeup tutorials that show how to enhance and contour your shoulders and collarbones are popping all over social media. Second Life速 designers such as Pixicat, The Secret Store, Tee*fy, and Lazybones sure are taking notes as they join in on this latest fashion craze. And, we think that this is a trend that is simple for anyone to join in!

one are the days of hardcore rock 'n' roll as it evokes a softer approach. This edg y style once used predominantly black and deeper colors. Now our fashion rock stars are being invaded by p astels, he avily studded moto jackets, and deconstructed le ather. These items are worn on top of frilly dresses or p aired with sheer fabrics to provide a softer touch to the rough edges. The contradictory mix of le ather and lace, ruffles and studs makes its intriguing appe arance at the Spring/Summer 2016 runway from designers like Louis Vuitton, Tods, Emilio P ucci, and Philipp Plein. You too can be a walking visual and tactile masterpiece with pieces from GizzA, Spirit, and Ladies Who Lunch. E voke your in ner Ferosh! Use our virtually acclaimed stylists to get hints on where to shop to achieve the right balance of hard and soft.

le! The Latin Influence has become a fashion staple for several fashion weekends; however, we found its influence most prominent for Spring/Summer 2016 fashion. This fun and flirty trend seduced us with ruffles, tassels, flamenco skirts, flowers, and toreador jackets. Oscar De La Renta, Dolce & Gabbana and Diane Von Furstenburg teleported enthusiasts far away to sunny Seville with their Spanish inspired designs. This look is easy to achieve with a few ruffles on a shirt, a bold floral print, just a simple flower in the hair, and perhaps a dash of blood red! Embrace the sultry, romantic, and ornate style with key pieces from Zafair, Lode, or Mai Bilavio.

ccording to designers like Kenzo, Dries Van Noten, Missoni, and DSquared2, color is the new black and this year's spring is looking bright! This season, we will see an abundance of bright hues, bold prints, and shimmery sequins making it the perfect opportunity to try out that blinding yellow dress and neon pink blazer! Do not be afraid of mixing and matching outrageous colors since that is what this trend is all about. Think beach. Think tropical getaway. Think Miami. If you are ready to dive in and have fun with this psychedelic fashion fad in-world, you can visit stores such as Fashionably Dead, Loovus Dzevavor, Lush by Coco, and Amarelo Manga. This trend is similar to previous trends that dealt with Pop Art and Tropics with a modern Miami twist.

T

he use of unconventional materials is, in often times, the highlight of fashion weeks across the world. Netting and mesh cloth combined with solid textures, such as cotton and leather, stole the show in many runway collections. In a way, the use of netting allows for the showing of flesh without leaving a person completely exposed. Netting caught the imagination of designers such as Balmain, Valentino, Alexander Wang and Victoria Beckham for Spring/Summer 2016. Designers used fishnets as extensions of material, while also keeping it classy with mid to long length skirts. Knitwear for Spring was updated creating an enmeshed look, while sculpted, form fittingdresses also made an appearance. We can flirt with netting in Second Life® by trying such stores as Pumpkin, Erratic & Zenith. Ferosh is excited that designers’ skills in mesh have started to allow for the creation of netting fabrics that provide the average Second Life® resident the ability to walk on the dangerous side.

ot for the wallflower, this bold statement color was seen in every hue this se ason. This previous winter, yellow was the statement color that most designers gravitated towards. These hues of orange are sometimes color-blocked with contrasting pinks, blues and even beiges but often worn boldly on its ow n. This color scre ams summertime and reminds us all of warm sunsets, golden be aches and tequila sunrises, and is definitely the color to be seen in according to Prabal Gurung, Balmain and Altuzarra. tripes were THE print of the season. They were featured by a majority of designers, including: Max Mara, DKNY, Ellie Saab, Christian Dior, Alexander Wang, Missoni, Roksana and Prada to name but a few! There was no limit to the way in which the stripe was presented - wide, narrow, vertical, horizontal, plaids and even chopped, curled or scattered. From full length dresses to handbags - the stripe knows no limits! This was one of our favourite fashion trends for Ferosh. The elite stylist can use stripes in a pattern-blocked fashion and create a unique, eye catching look. The same can be said in world where we can pick up gorgeous virtual creations at Coco, Bender and Tee*fy. Get yourself locked up in fashion and experience the couture trend of being behind bars!

N K

P

ink was a key color for Spring Summer 2016 as exhibited by Herve Leger, Temperley London, Simone Rocha and Burberry. However, it was the combination of its delicate hues with feminine details, such as ruffles and classic necklines, which lead them to really shine on the runway. The deal was sealed when Pantone named Rose Quartz as one of its colors of the season. In order to make Pink a key piece for your Second Life速 wardrobe, we have plenty of designers to choose from for both the guys and the girls. Try on a pink Blazer at Hoorenbeek, or the gorgeous feminine dresses at Zenith. Or, keep it upbeat and modern at Seul. Remember, real men wear pink! So despite the feminine reputation of this trend, we encourage men to create wonderful stylized looks, too!

lexander McQueen, Erdem, and Simone Rocha all featured the delicate, pretty and demure features of the romantic Victorian Era. This trend is similar to the gothic trend of Autumn/Winter 2015 but with a softer feel. Pastels and soft materials like cotton and lace featured heavily as did ribbons, trimmings, high necks and flowing skirts. This is an easy look to incorporate into everyday wear: a high neck blouse with jeans, a bow tied jauntily at your neck. Inspiration can be captured through literary tales. In world it is easy to find the perfect pieces to recreate your favourite Victorian hero or heroine by visiting such stores as Junbug, Zenith and Bare Rose.

REDEFIN WHITE

he classic white shirt finds itself revived this Spring/Summer 2016 season as real life designers like Anthony Vaccarello, Zac Posen, Vera Wang, Rosie Assoulin, and many others give it a refreshing take. The styling possibilities are seemingly endless as this closet staple steers far from being basic and becomes one of our must have pieces. We saw it on the catwalk slashed, torn, asymmetrical, oversized, knotted, buttoned up, ruffled, tucked in, and layered. The question is, how will you choose to wear yours? You can give this trend a try in-world by visiting stores like RAMA, TETRA, and Vive nine/ Ryvolter. This trend is fun and unisex making the average outfit trendy for more than one occasion.

SUP M OD Generation X

Photographer: Grant Valeska

his 2016 sees the revival of the early 2000s. The runways pointed to the resurrection of the "so bad it's actually quite stylish" trends of the early 90’s. Remember a time when girl bands in crop tops and low slung combat pants were cool, or that time when you were nobody unless you had a Juicy Couture tracksuit? However, this is 2016, and Paco Rabanne, Versace, Baja East and Louis Vuitton dragged the past back to the future and reinvented this decade with just a little more finesse and style. To recreate this updated look in Second LifeŽ look no further than Blueberry, Ryvolter and Villena.
