hose eyes, that hair, those cheeks, that smile, our cover face is Sandy Leddin. Hers is a face born to be in the spotlight. Her first cover at the age of four and now her first lead role in the movie On the Horizon. Ms. Leddin talked with MOST’s Denise Smith about the course of her career including the wonderful destinations her career has allowed her to admire and enjoy. We are honored to have Ms. Leddin’s beautiful face photographed by the incomparable Viktorija Pashuta. Ms. Pashuta is an award-winning photographer who also directs and writes movies. She co-directed and co-wrote Kiss of a Siren, an award-winning short film. The photography in this issue of MOST Fashion is nothing short of stunning, making Ms. Leddin the perfect match for the images. We are thrilled to share the work of all the photographers, stylists, models, make up artists and designers. The photographers bring absolute boldness this issue, with colors and artistry. Stylist Lisa Schuil has created art in the “Rapunzel” spread. Zoe Christou Welsh captures Ms. Schuil’s creativity, imagination and bold, unique designs in such a way that cause you to pause, look closer and wonder, “How?”. Pages of boldness continue with color that Aleé Hassan brings with men’s fashions, and model Arsalan Mughal’s “most” sexy beard. “Vogue Mist’s” bold colors somehow fade into the background with the shapes, designs and flow of the hair artistry of Yeliz Kaya. And then there is red. Rebecca Marie’s boldness in “Madden Rouge” feels like “I’ll I put on this color, this stunning dress and I will dare, dare to do it all!” And to you MOST readers, will you dare too? Maybe dare to travel to new destinations. You can take off in perfect fashion that would bring the glamor back to flying. “Escale Metropolitan” presents smart classic designs. Michael Zoster’s “Strike a Pose” matches horizontal with vertical lines creating natural daring looks for travel.

If you are in the south of France, visiting the Chapel of Roses, your fashionable nature may not match the boldness captured by Patrice Berchery. But you will remember these pictures and if you visit, remember the light in the garden hopefully it will inspire you to dare with your fashion. If Northern France is more your style, shop the boutiques at Montaigne Market, fill your carryall with perfect travel wear inspired by Simon Soong’s shoot, “Obsession”. And if you dare, Mohsin Khawar will bring out the princess in you or yours. “The Rise of a Princess” showcases a dress that the angelic faced model, Uzma Khan dons with princess glamor. And for the more relaxed requirements sometimes necessary while in the air or on the road, J. Tulinemi’s “Bohéme Naturale” can be worn for the times when you have gone from tourist to adventurist. “The Way to the River” may capture designs too bold for a river visit, but the looks Eric Ouakine captures are just right for many other elegant destinations. I have to take the opportunity to recognize one of our own. The beautiful Darcy Tharp pushes her keyboard aside, taking a break from writing duties, and gets in front of the camera. She is modeling in the “Escale Metropolitan” spread. The many talents of the staff here at MOST are always amazing to explore and discover. If you have the opportunity to travel this summer, I hope that inspiration of the fashion in these incredible photographs here will inspire your fashion. Recalling her parents single-minded dedication, she states, “Hey mom and dad if you are reading this; thank you so much, you are awesome.” Aww, MOST Fashion readers around the world have all just fallen in love. When we talked to the model about getting discovered, she remembers the skeptical encounter. “I thought the guy was making a joke.” Luckily for Sandy, her father took the chance meeting seriously and drove her to the interview. She was signed with M4 Models a few years later. Based in Berlin and Hamburg, the international agency represents men and women for advertising and commercial campaigns. An extension of her family, they have become a huge source of support and have pushed the models career to greater heights.
Born and raised in Hamburg Germany to supportive and encouraging parents, she remembers the city of her birth fondly. With most of her family still living there, she maintains an apartment close to the picturesque 160-acre lake in the heart of the city, the Alster. “This city always takes you back, like you’ve never been gone,” the model affectionately remarks. Hamburg, boasting its famed Chilehaus office building and the Old Elbe Tunnel, the “Gateway to the World” is hard to forget. We discussed the impact her parents have had on her career. Her mother works for an event company and her father a photographer/selfemployed promotion game inventor, always found time to drive her to casting calls. They helped the young ingénue book her first gig at the age

As is the case with most models, Sandy needed a few years to escape the awkward teenage phase. Typical rite of passage, wearing braces as a teenager, she was not the coolest kid. Instead of showing interest in boy bands, clothes and hanging out, she was into country music, gymnastics, horseback riding, and art. The model would express an interest in Joan Miro inspired paintings, described as a celebration of life and color. A concept that describes the German beauty completely. Looking back, she recognizes that she may never have surpassed the awkward phase rather embraced it “Today I am just more comfortable with it.” Aptly put for today’s generation that is struggling to find themselves through the polarizing world of social media. Reaching a certain level of success on the covers of Vogue, Elle and Ajoure, Sandy has also landed several commercials with some big

name companies, Kohler, Lexus, Crema (Israel) and Nivea (Germany). The advertisement for Kohler faucets, titled Dancing through Time, is a sophisticated and fashionable look at falling in love in front of the timeless faucets. From the casting call to the audition the German beauty was delighted to land the role. Outfitted with a dazzling wardrobe that spaned from the classic 1800’s to the roaring 1920’s to the modern fashions of today, Sandy finds herself on set. While working with a motion control camera, the model found the process slightly intimidating. “It was fast and loud, and I was twirling through the set on heels, trying to keep the right distance without being run over.” Directed by the great Anders Hallman, he flawlessly guided the jade eyed model through every step and era.

When discussing the dynamics between posing with other models and the relationship between the photographer and the model she exhibits the utmost professionalism. Everyone gets along, at least for the day, the model quips. “There are exceptions to the rule, but I have never had to work with anyone unbearable, toi toi toi.” If you find yourself rapidly searching “the Google” for the definition of toi, toi, toi, it simply means, yeah good luck with that. In terms of getting along with your photographer “Either way you need to make it happen.” The auditioning however daunting is a necessary process. The model recalls going to casting calls and “thinking it went great” only to later find out she was not selected. Likewise for a casting call that, “didn’t go so well” only to learn >>>

With her newfound success, traveling the world on assignment has become a complete joy for the international model. She has admired the scenic destinations of India, the Caribbean, and Peru. If time permits, she likes to bring something back from each local. While in Tel Aviv, she was able to take a day off and visit Jerusalem. She has a beautifully handmade leather bag to commemorate the spiritual trip. Having spent a brief amount of time living in the fast pace, loud and exciting New York City, she is currently living in Los Angeles California. Preferring the warmer weather, she has two dogs and finds that the three of them are having much more fun on the west coast. Securing her SAG-AFTRA card, the budding actress is a student of the Joanne Baron and D.W. Browns acting school. Learning to be openminded and empathic is key to being a good actor. “Each time I am in class, I learn something new either from D.W. Browns or from the other students.” Learning to act has made Sandy a better listener and has helped the German beauty with her overall growth.
via phone call or email that she, in fact, landed the part. “It’s like playing lotto with a great booker.” When the conversation turns to rejection, the model is reflective. “I am aware that tastes are different and also that it’s about types, the right time and being in the right place.” The German beauty says, “Sometimes the client knows beforehand that they probably want a blonde girl with curly hair for the part but invite many other types to audition.” Having said that, she suggest you don’t ever take the rejection too seriously, there will always be other opportunities.
Having just wrapped her first movie, On the Horizon, playing a lead role and her modeling work on national commercials, Sandy is a rising star whose talents are limitless. Taking each new opportunity in stride with elegance and quiet determination this exotic, green eyed, brunette is grateful for the way things have turned out. “It feels nice not to be asked, “When are you going to start your real job.”
