Ten of the BEST: With another year fast drawing to a close, it is exciting to realise that the Simbithi Eco Estate will be 10 years old next year. And what a 10 years it has been! The success stories continue to flow in and, at the time of writing, there are only 14 freehold sites left for sale, excluding the P.U.D sites currently under construction. I am sure that you will all agree that it is amazing to see how new homes are simply mushrooming all over our beautiful estate. With the past 10 years in mind, I would like to challenge all our owners and residents to try and experience my Ãĸ€œTen things to do in 2014Ãĸ€? on the estate. It will be liberating, fun, and help you to experience the lifestyle that makes Simbithi so truly different from any other development out there. 1. 2. 3.
Learn to fish in one of the dams. Pick up a nature trail map from the SEEHOA office and walk these beauties one by one. Invite your neighbour/ new resident for a braai at one of the community centres.
4.
Score a hole-in-one at the miniature golf course with your child/ grandchild and reward him/her. 5. Join an interest group on the estate: wine tasting club/ painting class/ walking/ running group/ birding group/ photography group. 6. Try out the exciting new menu at the Fig Tree restaurant. 7. Have a picnic down at the idyllic Fish Eagle Dam. 8. Book a golf lesson with the pro at the club. 9. Enjoy sundowners-with-a-view on the deck at the club. 10. Send a constructive suggestion to SEEHOA and tell us what you would like to see added to the estate. Enjoy your special time with family and friends this festive season and remember to be thankful that you are so blessed as to live in such a beautiful, safe and privileged environment. Kind regards

Words cannot explain Lucilleâs (sales) and my excitement when we decided to set ourselves a huge milestone to reach for this December edition ... and by October we saw that it is achievable, our 60 pager magazine for December plan, would be a reality!! Along with that came the realisation that we then had to fill more content and especially daunting had to design the magazine in the same short space of time as the smaller mag takes ... But we donât shy away from challenges and so we hope you LOVE Your whopper of a December edition! This edition we inadvertently ended up with quite an interesting array of recycling ideas .. a lot focused around Christmas but it is all really interesting! Wow who knew recycling Christmas goodies could be so easy and seems like fun too, another thing to do as a family maybe. Our front page I found particularly interesting as it is a recycled old wood and then you make the tree â how clever and eco friendly is that â LOVE IT ! I also particularly love the âget your garden Christmas readyâ article, we always focus on the people, the food and the table decor!! What about that poor garden! Enjoy the very interesting read on the Magomolaâs family, who have such an interesting story and a real passion for Simbithi Estate. The estate is also alive with nature and all the photoâs we receive we really do love!! Focus on the Golf swings, that is what Elbert suggests and we hope you enjoy an improved round of golf because of it. And as another year draws to an end we hope you have been blessed with the sun at your back and the wind in your hair, good friends, fabulous family time and a dinner table always filled with food and laughter. The best thing about living in South Africa is our amazing climate, where we can take total advantage of the long sunny days, which in my book is living! .. There is no doubt that Simbithi Eco Estate is set up for the whole family to enjoy! To you, our readers ... Sit back, relax, put your feet up with your favourite magazine (yes, this one) and your favourite cuppa ... May the festive season ahead bring you JOY, LOVE, PEACE and HEALTH !

From the Kitchen Itâs hard to believe that itâs almost the end of the year 2013. December is here and this means itâs Christmas time again. I decided to give Simbithi residents a recipe that we can use for all the leftovers that will be there from our Christmas tables. I thought it would be a good idea to make a Lancashire Hot pot. You could tailor make this with roast turkey, roast beef, roast lamb or roast chicken.

The festive season is upon us and 2013 will soon be history. This is therefore the perfect time to sit down and reflect on the year gone by and to set your agendas and goals for the year ahead â if you donât, someone else will. What a superb year it has been for development in Simbithi and the demand for property remains outstanding. Building activity on the estate has never looked better and the following statistics are proof of this: SEEHOA Building Control Statistics for November 2013 âĸ Total number of houses under construction: 88 âĸ Total number of houses completed: 342 âĸ Total number of planned unit developments under construction: 4 âĸ Total number of planned unit developments completed: 10
âĸ Total number of units completed at P.U.D sites: 581 One could argue that people are attracted to Simbithi for its remarkable security arrangements and for the boundless extent of natural splendour on offer, or it could even very well be for the simple, fresh approach of the estateâs building design guidelines. Contemporary homes are rising from the ground and these masterpieces are helping Simbithi to evolve into an estate with the architectural ethos of choice. Simbithiâs eco-architecture principles respond extremely well to modern-day South African lifestyles, with a huge emphasis being placed on living in harmony with nature. Sustainability is top of the agenda when it comes to building design codes, which are perfectly suited to limiting wastage of energy and reducing the negative impact on the environment.
SEEHOA encourages all property-owners to incorporate the principles of sustainable âgreenâ building into the architectural design of all new homes right from the concept stage and, when retrofitting, although it is a little more expensive, this should be explored as well. After all, sustainable living is a commitment to an abundant future. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families well over the festive period and I trust that youâll have a prosperous 2014. Take good care and stay safe. All the best Shiven Singh SEEHOA â Building Control Manager

Meet the Neighbours
The Magomola Family Nana and Gaby Magomola are a professional couple who have made Simbithi their semipermanent home since 2008. Gaby is a wellknown ex-banker, businessman and author who does not know what retirement means. He also describes himself as a Robben Island graduate because of the six-year term he served there in the mid-sixties because of his involvement in the struggle against apartheid. âI entered prison at the end of my teens, being nabbed at high school, and that is where I first met President Nelson Mandela,â says this man of his colourful history. By a twist of fate, Nana, a lawyerturned-businesswoman, has served as a trustee of the Nelson Mandela Childrenâs Fund for well over 12 years.
The Magomolas have been residents of Ballito since the late nineties and moved to Simbithi in 2008. âWe love the North Coast in general and the Simbithi eco-estate in particular for its serenity, picturesque landscape and the peaceof-mind it brings us,â says Nana. Our youngest, Naledi, will seize any opportunity to be here and get away from the hustle and bustle of Sandton. Like her mother, Naledi is an aspiring attorney and will start her clerkship at one of the top law firms in the country early in 2014. Their eldest, Thabo, is a director of a listed entity and his three girls, Tumi, Botshelo and Gomolemo, are regulars in Simbithi. Thabo and their middle daughter, Amara, were brought up in the Midwest of the USA
while their father was a Fulbright Scholar in Indiana, where he completed his MBA after his release from Robben Island. Amara has many of her motherâs attribute â she enjoys her own company and is a prolific writer and poet who still needs to discover Simbithi. At the end of the seventies, the family moved to New York City when Gaby accepted a position as a manager at Citibank in Manhattan. Later, he moved to Wall Street, which he describes as the highlight of his banking career. At that time, Nana was completing her B.Sc. at the City University of New York (Hunter College) whilst also tending to the kids, who were at kindergarten on Roosevelt Island, just outside Manhattan. âBringing up children in a foreign country was a huge challenge as I had to keep my job as a nursing

sister while also studying,â quips Nana, who received her initial nursing training at the Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital. Gaby met Nana around that time and their romantic story is well captured in his award-winning book, Robben Island to Wall Street. The Magomolas returned to South Africa in the early eighties when Gaby took up a managerial position at First National Bank and was subsequently made Managing Director of African Bank. In 1986 they defied the countryâs segregation laws and acquired a house in Sandton. This widely-reported move was hailed as a landmark development in the country, which led to more Black families following suit. This celebrated Simbithi couple continue to travel the world. U.S.A, with Nana visiting a number of European capitals before returning home. She is also a gambling regulator and serves as Executive Director of the National Responsible Gambling Foundation. âOur function is to provide education and public awareness to reduce the incidence of problem gambling and minimise the risks and harm of irresponsible gambling,â this charismatic woman, who has clearly mastered the art of multi-tasking, explains. In 2012, Nana received, the A Woman Who Makes a Difference-award from the International Womenâs Forum (IWF), a global women leadersâ organisation operating in more than 50 countries. She joined several other leaders in San Francisco, California, including the Hon Paula A Cox, Premier of Bermuda; the Swedish Minister of Gender Equality, the Hon N. Sabuni, as well as Denise Morris, President /CEO of Campbell Soup (USA).
âWe are truly privileged to be part of the lovely community of Simbithi,â says Nana. As a lover of nature and also Chairperson of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), the Simbithi eco-estate environment and intriguing landscape complements her conservation activities. This unique couple, who met on a train and married some 40 odd years ago, continue to be sought-after speakers both here and abroad. Early in the new year, Gaby is to travel to Washington DC where he has been invited to lecture at Howard University, while Nana will do her own stint, delivering her second consecutive lecture at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California. âThen itâs back to Simbithi,â says Nana with her infectious laugh.

Exciting Times for Seeff & Simbithi GROWTH AND SUCCESS Itâs been a superb 2013 for Seeff Dolphin Coast, and in particular for our team of Simbithi specialists. We have seen our market share grow from 8.5% in 2011, to 16% in 2012 and weâre sitting on 25% thus far in 2013. With transferred sales totalling over R 85 million as at the end of November, this has been a year of much success and growth. A big thank you must go out to all our valued clients for being part of this achievement.
A FOND FAREWELL A huge part of the success of the team has been our much loved, Kim Bailey. Her passion, work ethic and focus on Simbithi has lead her to become the top agent for Seeff in KZN in 2012 and consistently among the top 5 in the country which is an amazing achievement. Kim will be relocating with the family to Cape Town and will take up another opportunity with Seeffâs flagship Atlantic Seaboard branch selling on the V&A Waterfront. Weâre very sad to see her go but wish her, Grant, Tyler and Keagan all the best in their new life in the Cape.
A NEW BEGINNING As one chapter closes so another opens, and we are pleased to be able to announce that George Baxter and Mandy Clark have joined Darrell Abel as additional members of the Seeff team specialising in Simbithi.
GEORGE BAXTER George and his Wife, Terri, are well known to many on the Estate as they have been with Elan for a number of years both working from the on-site office. George who is the proud Dad to Isabella (5) and Alex (3) has spent 2 years as a Simbithi specialist and will continue to offer the professional service to Simbithi residents that he has a reputation for.
âI made the smart move in November 2013. I feel that the experience, integrity, passion and creativity that the team offers will give me the platform to deliver an even better service. The Seeff brand as whole is incredibly innovative and exciting, so I have full confidence in their goal to be the real estate brand of choice by 2015. I am extremely excited to be part of such a dynamic and supportive team. Frank, Savvy and Fresh, what more could you ask for!â
MANDY CLARK Mandy has lived with her husband, Brett, and children Callum (7) and Kara (6) in Simbithi for the last 6 years and has been involved in property development both here in Simbithi and in the UK and USA. She has also got 10 yearsâ experience in Asset Management which will certainly hold her in good stead for this new career. Mandy is new to the sales side of the real estate industry, but with her infectious personality and passion for property, in particular, Simbithi, we know she will fit right in to the dynamic team. âWhen I was asked by Tim Johnson to consider a career in Real Estate sales, I wasnât sure to be honest. But to be offered a coveted position in Simbithi by such a quality brand was a big compliment. I thought it would be an incredible opportunity to develop as a businesswoman and be part of an exciting brand on the North Coast. The team members have a good mix of experience, skill and fresh, vibrant personalities. That, coupled with the brilliant training and innovative technology that Seeff offers itâs staff, means success should follow. This next chapter will be an exciting one and I hope to add real value to Seeff and those who wish to become fellow homeowners in Simbithi.â

Hold
That Finish!!! As we approach the end of the year, I thought that it would be appropriate to discuss âThe Finishâ. The finish of every shot in golf will give you a very good idea of what was right or what was wrong during the shot. If you battle to hold your finish, you will find yourself on the back foot 90 percent of the time, which means that you have to hit the ball with your weight on your back foot â not the most ideal situation. I have used the short game to show a couple of the common mistakes that we see on the course every day and I feel that this should help us play more consistent golf and enjoy the game a little more.
Putting Many golfers make critical errors when trying to hit a longer putt rather than shorter putts. We have all had those 30-foot putts go 15-foot past or 10-foot short. This is because we feel that we have to hit the putt instead of focusing on the principal of putting that we have been told by our fellow golfers so many timesâĻ stroke the putt!
This is an example of a good finish after stroking a putt.
22 | Simbithi Scene
This is a perfect example of the finish of a putt that was hit instead of stroked.
golfing
Chipping Playing golf at Simbithi, we have all had our fair share of tough chips ending up close to the hole and also made a dogÃĸ€™s breakfast of a regulation up and down. One of the major mistakes that golfers make when they are chipping is that they try to loft the ball with their hands instead of using the loft of the club-head.
In the above picture you can see that the wrist has held its position. The loft of the club-head will send the ball up into the air.
In the above picture you can see that an attempt to flick the ball up into the air has caused a collapse in the left wrist. When this happens, you will find that the ball has not gone up in the air, but rather stayed close to the ground at high speed.

To Finish The best way to fix the above problems in your short game is to pre-set your weight to 60 percent on your front foot and forty percent on your back foot. This will help you to get your weight through the ball and make a better connection with the ball more often. A good test is to see how long you can hold your balance after you have made contact with the ball. So, for the best results, stay on the back foot and finish the year strong!

Iâd like to say that it was because I was a naturally gifted floral designer, but it had more to do with the hours of training I received from my incredibly talented gran and mom prior to the shows. In a robotic display of speed and purpose, I would construct a world class arrangement almost with my eyes closed in half the time of my nearest competitor.
When time was up Iâd scarcely remember what had happened or how Iâd completed my masterpiece. An unfair advantage to say the least, but not many people can count a former Chairwoman of WAFA (World Association of Floral Artists) as their gran, and a 2-time World Flower Show champion as their mom. To have a little fun this Festive season, I called on this dynamic duo to come up with some creative and easy to do ideas to turn everyday objects and plant material into stunning Christmas decorations to brighten up your Simbithi home and impress your friends.
Christmas Tree We often get caught up in having a traditional fir tree, or even worse, a plastic store bought one. For something very different and re usable, why not look at making your very own driftwood tree. With a steel rod, some nuts and bolts, a drill, and the right size sticks, youâll have a beautiful eco-friendly tree that looks great but is practical and completely unique. To add the Christmas touch, you can tie different coloured ribbons onto the branches, and place a bunch of indigenous Asparagus Falcatus which is found throughout Simbithi, at the base.

Side Server The perfect arrangement for either your entrance hall or side server is this wonderful collection of cleverly re-purposed plants and easily found items. So what do you need? 1. Restio Grass Wreaths- To create the perfect wreath is as simple as collecting a bunch of the indigenous Restio grass found throughout Simbithi. The grass can be tightly wrapped around a wire frame which is purchased from the local florist or handmade. For added festive effect, a light coating of Silver or Gold spray paint will do the trick. 2. Logs- To add height and texture to the arrangement, spray painting a few logs is an easy solution and a reference to those cosy fires we donât tend to have on the North
Coast during the season. 3. Aloes Arborescence- The beautiful aloes which are also found all over Simbithi, make superb additions to the feature. Sprayed with a light metallic colour, these plants will last for up to 2 months out of water so require very little maintenance. 4. Sticks- These dry sticks are great to add height and colour. They can be bought at Mr. Price and are easy to spray any colour you want. 5. Anthuriums- The beautiful and versatile plants can be bought at Inhle Orchards in Ballito Bay Mall or Cindyâs in Umhlali and last weeks placed in a little water. They can also be sprayed, but many of the natural colours are beautiful enough.
6. Candles- Placing a few large candles on the table or on top of the logs add that Christmas flair and looks great in the evening when lit. 7. Oasis Balls- As opposed to polystyrene, Oasis balls which can be ordered from a florist or Vegmoflora wholesaler in Springfield Park, are a great option to use as a âpin cushionâ to create these wonderful Christmas balls. Bound with wire and pinned into place, left over ribbon and strips of wrapping paper make for the perfect exterior. 8. Glitter Balls- These can be found at any party/dÊcor shop and are easy fillers that look great.
Table DÊcor
This table arrangement is very simple to put together and uses some of the same elements as the side server. With a few extra items this will look great and last for a few weeks over the festive period. Added to the other decoration ideas are the following items:
1. Kalanchoe- This indigenous succulent is also found locally and can last up to 3 weeks if the centre is sprayed with water daily. Glitter balls are placed in the centre for added effect. 2. âWild Bananaâ Runner- Acting as a beautiful base to the arrangement are Strelitzia Nicolai leaves which will also last for a few weeks.

Is Christmas at your place this year? Get your garden and outdoor living areas looking their absolute best for you and your family to enjoy. Here are some practical tips so that you and your garden are Christmas-ready. Love your lawn Your lawn provides a tranquil green backdrop to a beautiful garden. Give it a good mow and neaten up the edges. We are having enough rain at the moment, so your lawn should be looking great. Keep an eye out for any dry patches and water these areas well to ensure that your lawn stays gloriously green. De-clutter You might have old pots and old tree stakes that youâre saving for a rainy day. If they have not been used in years, throw them out now! If your children havenât used the swing for a very long
time, then now is the perfect time to pass it on to someone who will appreciate and use it. Clean up Clean up paving, peeling paint or faded woodwork, maintain the deck and clean the braai area. Check the outdoor furniture. For an instant lift, buy some new outdoor cushions or a festive tablecloth. Maintain your plants Take a trip around your garden armed with secateurs and snip off every dead leaf and flower that you see and anything thatâs looking poorly

might need to be pulled out. Cut back annuals or perennials that have finished flowering, as they may have time to flower again. Be colourful Thereâs no time for seedlings, so for any dull spots go for a riot of colour with plants about to bloom. Daisies, Gerbera jamesonii, Agapanthus and Bulbines are great choices for sunny spots, while Plectranthus varieties and Crassula varieties are great choices for shady garden beds. Mulch Mulch your garden beds. This not only covers

a multitude of sins, but the good news is that thereâs no need to weed as regularly! I always think of it as the finishing touch, just like putting on heels to finish off an outfit. Grow presents Gardeners and plant-lovers love presents that they can plant, decorate or use in their gardens and, for many gardeners, the more practical the better. If you donât have any cuttings from your garden that you can share, take a visit to the nursery this week â youâre sure to get lots of ideas for every member of your family. Buy a six-pack of seedlings or a small potted perennial and then plant it up into a beautifully-decorated container as the perfect Christmas present. Involve the kids too; they love to be part of the festivities. For those who love cooking, make up herb pots â you can even style them to their favourite cuisine flavours. Edible greens Keep planting seedlings of salad such as lettuce, rocket and spinach every couple of weeks to ensure that, no matter how many guests drop
in unexpectedly, youâll always be able to serve freshly-grown salad. Make a statement You can buy ready-planted hanging baskets or pots that are overflowing with flowers. Itâs worth spending that little bit extra and buying a couple. Position them on either side of your front door to make a statement. Last minute preparations A day or two before Christmas, do a last minute clean-up; trim edges, mow and sweep everything, including all paths and paving. Tip out any containers where water has collected, creating a breeding ground for mozzies. And, donât forget to fill the gas bottle if youâre braaiing. Thereâs nothing worse than the gas running out when the turkeyâs only half-cooked. Take time to enjoy your garden, friends and family this festive season. Hereâs wishing you all the best for a fabulous Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year, with love from Tracey and the Eco Balance team.

If you are thinking of buying or selling contact one of Wakefields accredited Agents who will give you efficient, enthusiastic and professional service. I have just had an unbelievable sighting on Ladlau drive of a White tailed mongoose and her 3 babies. This is an extremely rare sighting of this nocturnal animal, especially with the babies. They were feeding on flying ants and as can be seen in the one photo the one baby came within a meter of me. Unfortunately due to excitement I did not get the picture. I spent 30 minutes watching and trying to get the right shot.

Health
We train Durban
Tell us about the boot camp? We Train is a unique style of training, our Bootcamps are very creative and no two sessions are the same. We use explosive training methods and include cardio, a mix of military, MMA, and insanity cardio. Our boot camp is inclusive and no matter what your fitness levels are you will be able to participate at your own pace - we will start you off slowly and build your fitness and strength. One of the most important factors in bootcamp training is ensuring that movements are done correctly to eliminate injuries, we place a massive emphasis on the safely of our clients.
Tell us a little about how you got started in the fitness industry, bootcamp specifically? I come from a Professional Netball background, playing for the South African ladies team in indoor and outdoor netball, I have always been passionate about sports and I enjoy trail running and surfing now. All of these are explosive sports, I realized that I could perform better, be faster and stronger by using the training methods that we use in our Bootcamps. I have seen a 200% improvement in my performance from using this type of training and strengthening my core muscles. I decided that I could help other people to condition their bodies
and push them to their limits. I am passionate about getting the average person who doesnât believe they are capable of much to enjoy training and to teach them to push themselves to get stronger, fitter and faster. Our Training team is highly motivational and we have seen some incredible results with our clients, itâs a very rewarding profession! Where will you be opening and why there? We will be hosting our Bootcamp at the Litchi Orchard, the venue offers incredible grounds for training, it has a rugged bush feel, loads of space and makes training exciting - true boot camp style. The relaxed atmosphere at Litchi Orchard will hopefully encourage clients to linger after training for a good cup of coffee, getting to know each other and building community â I encourage community as it builds a sense of accountability with group members and encourages fitness as a lifestyle rather than a quick fix weight loss. What days and times will you be running your classes? Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:30 â 6:30am Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 17:30 â 18:30pm
What are the benefits of boot camp workouts to going to gym or hiring a personal trainer? The gym layout can be intimidating for many people. There are lots of great exercise machines at your disposal but if you are not sure on how to lift, move or which weight to adjust, you can easily injure yourself. We Train Bootcamps offer a safe and comfortable environment for people to have fun whilst getting the right guidance on form. The group sessions are run outdoors which adds to the overall appeal.
On those days when people lack motivation what advice would you give them? The purpose of We Train is to partner with clients, encouraging and enabling them to take control of their lives, develop a healthy mind and body and push past their personal limitations. âDoing less, whether it be a 20 minute workout, is better than doing nothingâ How many days on average should you attend bootcamp? The We Train recommendation is a minimum of 2 training sessions a week for maximum results.
Contact We Train to find out more information regarding session times and venues. SMS Mariska on 0825684873 or email admin@wetraindurban.co.za. For a glimpse of what we do, join our We Train Facebook group. 36 | Simbithi Scene

TOP TIPS FOR THIS SEASONâS WORKING
As you page through our gorgeous Simbithi Scene mag, take a moment to think about your wardrobe, filled with clothes, shoes and accessories. What adjectives would you use to describe this all-important space? Is it organised, tidy, inspirational, colourful, neat, perhaps colour-coded? Or is it a space that is crowded and in a state of disarray? How often do you walk to your wardrobe, open the doors (your wardrobe is so full that you canât possibly squeeze in another coat-hanger) and yet say, ââĻI have nothing to wear?â Now, ask yourself this question: what percentage of my existing wardrobe do I wear on a regular basis? If you are only wearing 10-20 percent of your clothes and accessories, then it is time to take action!
1.
2. 3. 4.
Hello, Summertime! A stunning new season is upon us and with this comes an injection of new colours, fabrics and styles. This is the perfect time to take stock of what in your wardrobe is not being worn and what is needed (those wardrobe must-haves) to create a working wardrobe that will suit your lifestyle, personality and budget. Simbithi resident Wendy Hind shares 10 fundamentals of wardrobe planning so that you will never again have to say to yourself, âI have nothing to wearâ. I would also like to encourage you to create a wardrobe of clothes and accessories that match up to the image that you want to project. 38 | Simbithi Scene

9.
Make sure that your wardrobe reflects your current lifestyle (be that smart, smartcasual, casual-smart, or casual) and that the garments and outfits that you creatively put together match the overall image that you want to project. As a guide, oneâs wardrobe should be at least 70-80 percent functional, but there should be an element (20-30 percent) of fashion, regardless of your occupation, your age, or your personality. Be authentic and be consistent in the clothes that you wear and the image that you project. Include the elements of fashion that will suit you best in your overall image. Donât duplicate (you donât need more than five pairs of jeans!). More tops, fewer bottoms (70 percent tops / 30 percent bottoms). More plains, fewer prints (70 percent plain / 30 percent prints â no bigger than the size of your fist). Chataâs X3 Principle (make sure that every garment matches another three garments in your wardrobe). No wire coat-hangers! Wooden or plastic are best for garments that need to be hung up. All knits should be folded. Group items together â hang all tops together, all bottoms together, etc. Get rid of garments and accessories in the incorrect colour, incorrect style, that are a mismatch
Florals â lots of! Be it in a print or applique, whack oversized posies onto your dresses, tops and skirts for the edgy look that is so on trend. This is one of the prettiest trends for the new season.
to your current lifestyle, or just plain wornout (the white shirt that is now grey, the jersey full of fluffy balls, the jacket that is three sizes too small or too big, etc). 10. Fall in love with your wardrobe all over again and never compromise on quality, fabric, fit or length. Be ahead of the game with this seasons fashion trends! If you donât know what the hottest trends are for Summer 2013, then youâre in the right place. Weâve scouted the shops and rounded up the runways to bring you this seasonâs top trends. Summer 2013âs fashions reflect on the past, borrowing from it, but living in the future. We are wearing anything that looks as if it has a history but has been re-invented to make it look modern and contemporary. From bold graphic prints to oriental styling and monochrome colour-play, this is set to be a vintage season for must-try trends. If youâre craving spotty-dotties and full-on florals, read on to discover your fave new trend for this Summer.

Christmas Probably the best way to get inspired for the holidays is to decorate your house and a Christmas tree. And if you take it one step further and decide to make the decorations and ornaments yourself, then Christmas will be all the more special! There are many easy ways to save, salvage and recycle this festive season and you will enjoy the spirit of giving much more than usual. Here are some great ideaâs to get your festive recycling spirit going!
I heart recycling
Recycled Christmas balls These are lovely for Christmas balls and just general vintage decor around the house. Made with polystyrene balls, cover most of the ball with Mod Podge and layer the strips of paper on the ball. Once the ball is covered, put a coat of Mod Podge over the paper and smooth with your hand so the strips lay flat. Add another layer of Mod Podge over it and cover with glitter. As simple as that!
These nifty hanging ornaments are great to add some festive red to your tree. Made from recycled coke cans, cardboard and hemp cord you can create various different shapes and sizes and add beads or glitter to make it extra special.
Rudolph the recycled reindeer This is just too cute for words! All it involves is 5 old puzzle pieces, because letâs face it, over the years there are many puzzles missing that one last piece! Paint them white and then brown, glue them in this order add eyes, a red nose and a red ribbon and youâve got a gorgeous recycled reindeer â what a great activity to do with the kids.
Recycled Bling Now CDâs that have been scratched can be put to good use! Cut shapes out of used CDâs and string them for some great recycled bling!
This DOUBLE-sided piece can dangle on your tree and never show a wrong side. It is topped with a ribbon bow and a metal ring for hanging. It is LIGHTWEIGHT and a beautiful guilt free addition to your holiday tree.

Merry Metal These are awesome pieces that you can create numerous different shapes and patterns on. Hammer designs into old can lids and add a bottle cap with inspiration sayings for a warm, homey feeling.
Merry âCork-massâ These cork ornaments are made with used corks cut in half, embellished with burgundy and olive ribbon and a rhinestone push pin tree topper. It has a ribbon ring to use for hanging as a Christmas tree decoration.
Oâ Natural These awesome little pieces will truly add a zest of nature and recycling into your home! Use fallen branches in your yard to create mini Christmas treeâs add buttons or paint them to add some flare.
