The Consortium Sectoral Innovation Watch is implemented by a consortium comprising 11 leading innovation organisations from 8 different Member States. It is coordinated by TNO, the Dutch organisation for applied scientific research.
How to contribute You are warmly invited to contribute to SIW. Five thematic workshops are being organised, addressing different horizontal, cross-sectoral innovation themes. The workshops will be geared towards generating insights that could benefit the European Commission in its processes of policy formulation and, in particular, improving innovation policy. The thematic workshops will be attended by sectoral and thematic experts from throughout Europe upon invitation, so if you feel that you have such expertise, this is where you might make a contribution. The topics and dates of the workshops are announced on the Europe INNOVA website.
Sectoral Innovation Watch
Understanding sectoral innovation dynamics across Europe Sectoral Innovation Watch aims to provide policy-makers and innovation professionals with a better understanding of sectoral innovation dynamics across Europe. Detailed insights into sectoral innovation dynamics are essential for the development of effective innovation policy. Current innovation dynamics and future innovation challenges in nine sectors are studied. The sectoral approach is complemented by a horizontal focus on five cross-sectoral themes that are the object of current innovation policy debates. Innovation specialists from industry, academia and government play a major role in Sectoral Innovation Watch, for instance as participants in the various workshops.
If you feel that you have relevant knowledge and experience to offer to SIW, please send your expression of interest in participating to: Dr. Carlos Montalvo, TNO Carlos.montalvo@tno.nl

The horizontal themes and the sectors are analysed in close concert, using a ‘matrix approach’ that enables taking into account important linkages between sectors. The results of SIW are published in nine sectoral reports, five horizontal reports and summarised in a final synthesis report.
