What is the KISPLATFORM? KISPLATFORM is a horizontal support measure of the European Knowledge Intensive Services Innovation Platform (KIS-IP) intended to guarantee the effective promotion of the results of the KIS-IP sectoral partnerships. Its aim is to facilitate collaboration and coordination among all sectoral partnerships in the platform, both those launched in 2008 and those that kicked off their activities at the end of 2009. The overall objective of the KISPLATFORM is to become the key reference point for innovation in Knowledge Intensive Services at the European level, to help identify key successful companies in Europe in this area and to provide them with an opportunity to network and learn from each other and to share best practices through the KIS100 Club. It will also identify the key issues and barriers to innovation in the service sector and distil better practices for innovation support in this area as well as identify issues and approaches emerging from the sectoral partnerships of the KIS-IP, disseminate them and put them at the centre of the innovation support policy debate in the Knowledge Intensive Services area.

The Repository of Better Practices One of the objectives of the KISPLATFORM project is to compile knowledge and better practices on technological and organisational or business model innovations in services. This is being done by aggregating results, insights and material generated through the work of the KIS-IP as a whole.

Ensuring promotion of KIS-IP results and networking the European KIS Community

This material will become useful instruments not only for SMEs active in Knowledge Intensive Services, but also for the entire business community, innovation practitioners, academics, researchers and policy makers. This activity will generate two key outputs:  A repository of videos that will be accessible via the Europe INNOVA website. This repository will be populated with company presentations coming from the KIS100 Club regional events .  A booklet with analyses of the experiences of some 20 successful KIS SMEs in Europe focusing on the type of services innovation they performed and the resulting impact on the companies. This project is financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which aims to encourage the competitiveness of European enterprises.

The four events which will take place throughout 2010 reflect a new approach for the Club geared at identifying members by actively involving innovation support providers at local level.

The HSG is responsible for assessing and commenting on the methodologies and processes employed by the KIS-IP, analysing and validating the main results that are being obtained and identifying areas where further work should be undertaken. It will also encourage active communication of the partnerships’ results to a wide group of stakeholders with the aim to increase the overall impact of the initiative.
