Success to Significance The ECU College of Education has boasted a history of success for more than a century. That success spans a variety of fields across an impressive number of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs. From an award-winning faculty and nationally and internationally recognized programs to our leadership in innovation in the UNC System, we have built a culture of success that positions us as a leader in education. Yet, we are not content with success, for we believe that the significance of our work transcends our success. The ECU College of Education provides access to a high-quality research and learning experience that prepares individuals to TEACH, LEAD and INSPIRE. We position our graduates to positively transform the environments in which they live and work. Our faculty and alumni transform education, practice, organizations, communities and even the world. In short, we are committed to the idea that our work is significant because we not only OPEN DOORS, we TRANSFORM LIVES. B. Grant Hayes, Ph.D. Dean and Distinguished Professor College of Education
