Amanda was born and raised in Houston, Texas, but left to Portland, Oregon in 2006 to escape the Texas heat. Self-taught film photographer, went to school for Political Science and work full time as a social worker for homeless teens. ELIZABETH KINNAIRD Elizabeth Kinnaird has been a professional photographer for 5 years. She started in the industry 10 years ago assisting photographers such as Andrew O’Toole and Albert Watson. While completing her bachelor degree at RMIT University, Elizabeth won an academic sponsorship to study at Parsons School of Design in New York City. LENA TEPLITCAIA Lena Teplitcaia is a photographer based in Frankfurt, Germany. Photography intrigued her as a child and has now become a passion. Music and nature are her primary sources of inspiration. She enjoys creating abstract, impressionistic or dreamlike images. The photographer, Mae (right), has had her cosmetology licence for 7 years and all hair styling is done by her. THIS Darkness is defined as an absence of visible light, and as a consequence, perception becomes achromatic. As years go by, I’ve grown to accept darkness as an inevitable path down the trail of life... Not thinking of it as a negative space, but as the inception of light. Now, it doesn’t matter how many emotional or metaphorical connotations darkness has for each and everyone of us, there is one thing that is a fact: Without darkness, we wouldn’t be able to see the stars.
