CONTRI GABRIELA VALENTIN SILVA Gabriela M. Valentin Silva is a Puerto Rico-based visual artist and fashion designer. Through her sketching work she seeks to reveal her interiority, a particular understanding of things as a human in space and time.
GIOVANNI FUENTES Giovanni Fuentes is a street and documentary photographer born and raised in Puerto Rico. While attempting to acquire a degree in Sociocultural Anthropology at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras, Giovanni dropped out to pursue a career in the arts. Trying to bridge the gap, like many do, between the study and appreciation of cultural studies and fine art, he uses photography as his medium to portray the sensible aspects of human life and culture. www.instagram.com/aguacatex
JOSÉ LÓPEZ SERRA José López Serra is an amateur artist and curator based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His praxis concerns the practices and concepts that constitute everyday life and their manifestation through formal / informal means. In 2015, he co-founded Hidrante, a no-budget independent project space dedicated to cultural production, hosting exhibitions, projections, a black and white darkroom, and open to community use. www.joselopezserra.com
JOSHUA CABEZAS Joshua Cabezas is a German-born visual artist and independent publisher. He is the founder of Some Publishing Group, a platform aiming to expose and promote emerging and established talent in the fields of art and fashion, focusing mainly on photography. www.joshuacabezas.com
MIKE SPEARS Mike Spears was born in Bloomington, Indiana. Mostly from San Juan, Puerto Rico. A few wild years in South Florida. Bachelor of Science in Film and Broadcasting from Boston University. Dumbo Brooklyn’s been home since 1999. www.mikespears.net
SARAH URBAIN Sarah Urbain was born in Belgium and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She started studying art at a young age. In 2006, she moves to San Juan to study at Escuela de Artes PlĂĄsticas de Puerto Rico. With an Interdisciplinary Studies background, she specializes in portraits and murals and is now entering the digital art world. Sarah likes to portray scenes that interact with the spectator and that show the community that surrounds her in its sociopolitical and cultural context. www.instagram.com/essino12
STEPH SEGARRA Steph Segarra is a lover of color from the island of Puerto Rico. Mostly, she does fashion and portrait photography, but is also interested in telling stories that need a voice. Steph uses the island as a backdrop for her colorful editorials and lookbooks and to shed light on social and political matters. She has worked as a stylist and art director in commercial and artistic projects and recently directed her first music video. www.stephsegarra.com
