Rules and game conditions tweaked and improved The winter staff meeting was held last month and some new rules and game conditions were one of it’s outcomes. Also a revised points/objectives/time chart was created. Both of these items will make significant differences in game flow and strategies for both sides. Take some time to review both of them It’s intended to make the game new and more exciting. A summary of the winter meeting notes can be found on page 2. You find information on the new paint, new approved grenade launchers, and the new dead zone / rally point system

Special Mission and Objective for 82nd Airborne

25 airborne troops start game in Colleville Church

Register Now

This year there is a brand new mission assigned to members of the elite 82nd Airborne and 82nd Pathfinders. The mission revolves around the church at Colleville. The Colleville church sits at a key junction between Colleville, St Laurent, Omaha and the Airfield

The revised points chart reflects a intent to spread the afternoon action to more areas of the field. The area around Caen will see considerably more action during the entire day. Additionally, Breacourt Manor has been moved to a location NW of Utah Beach. The points for this objective cause a new, hard fought battle in the north.

The church is 2 stories and huge. Approximately 30' x 60'. It dominates its portion of the field as seen in the aerial photo. The other part of Colleville is in the upper left portion of the picture. Colleville has often been considered the unofficial location of German HQ. It's a key piece of real estate, the high ground for this area of the field.

Page 2 Winter meetings notes summary

It's a crucial area.

The new points chart can be found on page 3. Minor tweaks are still possible and the final official version will be included in the paper version of Stars and Stripes available at the field the week of D-day.

The Airfield is to the right It's easy to see how important this church becomes. The twenty-five 82nd troops in the church will be on their own until relieved. (continued page 4)

Special mission and Objective for 82nd Airborne 25 airborne troops start in Colleville Church at game on (continued from page 1) The mission given to the 82nd /82nd PF is new, unique, difficult and should be a blast for all involved. The fight for the Colleville church should be awesome!

The church is modeled after the actual church in Normandy. The Oklahoma D-day Church.

The 82nd will start in possession of the church at game on, at 0900, with a company of 25 Airborne troops. Our mission is to hold the church! Points are awarded at 1000 and 1030. The Germans will undoubtedly pound it relentlessly. It's in the midst of their HQ. This could end up being one of the most talked about missions and objectives of the entire event. Although nothing new for the 82nd, the troops inside will be cut-off, outnumbered and surrounded, just how we like it, target rich, and we can shoot in any direction! The mission and objective are new for 2010. German and US Airborne. But remember, it's not for everyone. You need to be at least 15 years old, you best be in at least decent shape, and be prepared for some of the hardest hiking and toughest fighting at D-day.

The church in June 1944

If fun, intense paintball is what you're looking for, the 82nd and 82nd Pathfinders are what you want. While a potion of the 82nd will be holding the church, the rest of the division will be cut off and behind the lines, fighting their way through the German Army.

Recruiting in full swing

The actual church in Normandy today

Allied units are making their big registration push Last year the 101st and 82nd Pathfinders filled and were closed in February. Expect the same this year. Airborne, Rangers and Pathfinders are always the first units to fill. But expect to see great interest in the Commonwealth, 1st ID (Omaha) and 4th ID (Utah) as all these area will see new physical improvements or buildings. Registration links for every Allied unit can be found on page 1

Commonwealth takes its to France Vekring trip By: 'Ghost' DATE: 23-24 JAN 2010 LOCATION: VEKRING, FRANCE

The ruins of an abandoned French military base, only a few kilometers from the German border, was the setting this past weekend for an epic clash between two rival European scenario paintball teams. The Grey Swines, of Belgium, took to the field 36 strong to face their long-time Dutch rivals, the Jackals. With just 15 players available, the odds appeared (initially at least) to be stacked against the Jackals. Of course, appearances can be deceiving. The Jackals, which form the basis for the Dutch Scenario Team, boast some of the most experienced and successful scenario players in Europe. Team FUBAR, playing with the Jackals, was the winner of the Dutch Scenario League in 2009. Three

Jackals players, including their leader Wim, experienced front-man Wouter, and newest recruit GHOST (the only non-Dutch player on the team), are all serving members of the Commonwealth Expeditionary Forces (CEF) of Oklahoma D-Day renown.

For GHOST, who leads the CEF 6 Airborne at Oklahoma D-Day, and recently moved to Europe, teaming up with CEF team mates Wim and Wouter was a natural move. "The CEF is an international scenario team, comprised of many local teams from across The Jackals put this wealth of experience to Europe, Canada, and the US. These are skills that the Jackals have been developing for several years, but which they have perfected since Wim and Wouter joined the CEF for Oklahoma D-Day in 2009. The intensity of preparation, commitment to offensive action, and careful attention to coordination that characterized the CEF playstyle is something that has worked well for the Jackals, who have incorporated the best of what the CEF has taught them to their What about D-Day 2010?
