Wir haben unsere Filiale in Zürs komplett neu konzipiert und umgebaut, um speziell unseren Zürser Gästen das exklusive STROLZ – Einkaufsambiente vor Ort zu garantieren. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail und unseren bewährten Einrichtungselementen aus Zirbenholz und patiniertem Messing haben wir eine Atmosphäre geschaffen, die Sie begeistern wird. Der Einstieg unseres neuen Geschäftsführers, Herrn Stefan Maierhofer, ist ein weiterer Meilenstein unseres Unternehmens. Dear friends of Strolz Winter is nearly upon us again and this year is being heralded by a landmark event in the development of the Arlberg ski area. The plans to connect the ski area of Warth-Schröcken, with its incredible downhill ski-runs which are always guaranteed to be covered in snow and its attractive off-piste routes, with Arlberg have now become a reality.
What’s more, we have some exciting news of our own! We have completely redesigned and renovated our branch in Zürs in order to ensure that our customers there can enjoy the exclusive STROLZ shopping experience. Thanks to our attention to detail and trusted Swiss-pine and patinated-brass furnishings, we have created an ambiance that will have you head over heels. Our new Managing Director, Stefan Maierhofer, has also assumed office, which is another landmark event for our company. He is looking forward to implementing his innovative ideas and putting his all into ensuring the continuing development of the STROLZ brand and the family company. Herzlich willkommen! So habe ich mich an meinem ersten Tag bei Strolz gefühlt. Die Familie Strolz, alle Mitarbeiter und Gäste haben mich in ihrer Mitte aufgenommen und mir sofort das Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit gegeben. Einen so schönen Einstand kann man sich nur wünschen! Jetzt möchte ich mich aber vorstellen: Mein Name ist Stefan Maierhofer, ich bin 46 Jahre alt, komme aus Vorarlberg und wohne mit meiner Familie am Bodensee. Seit 25 Jahren bin ich im Handel im In- und Ausland tätig. Sport ist ein wichtiger Teil meines Lebens und der Arlberg ist einer der schönsten Orte, um Beruf und Passion zu verbinden. Die Familie Strolz hat mich ausgewählt, um das Team zu verstärken und die Geschäftsführung zu übernehmen. Ich bedanke mich ganz herzlich für das Vertrauen! The Strolz family, all of my colleagues and all of the customers welcomed me into their circle and immediately made me feel like I belonged here. It’s the kind of start that you can only dream of! I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself: my name is Stefan Maierhofer. I’m 46 years old, I’m from Vorarlberg and I live on Lake Constance with my family. I have been involved in the retail industry both in Austria and abroad for 25 years. Sport is an important part of my life and Arlberg is one of the most beautiful places for combining your career and your passion. The Strolz family chose me to strengthen their team and take over the management of their business, and I am immensely grateful for their trust! hr Gespür für Mode, ihr Faible für Dekoration und ihre Herzlichkeit machten das Sport- und Modehaus Strolz zu dem, was es heute ist – die exklusive Adresse für aktive Arlberg-Urlauber. Herta Strolz kam 1950 mit 26 Jahren als Bedienung an den damals noch weit unglamouröseren Ort Lech. Schnell wurde sie von ihrem späteren Mann Ulrich Strolz mit der Begründung „So wie Sie sind, werden Sie sich alles Nötige schon aneignen“ für sein Unternehmen, das Sporthaus Strolz, abgeworben. Wenig später war Herta die Leiterin des Einkaufs und somit die treibende Kraft im Unternehmen und Ulrich ihr Ehemann. Mit dem Motto „Schnee ist weiß und braucht Farbe“ machte sie sich auf der ganzen Welt auf die Suche nach dem Einzigartigen. Die Inspiration holte sie sich hauptsächlich von ihren Gästen selbst, denn bei allem Geschäftssinn stand für Herta die Herzlichkeit immer an erster Stelle. So ist sie besonders stolz darauf, dass viele ihrer Stammgäste aus der ganzen Welt zu ihren Freunden geworden sind.

Und trotz königlicher Kundschaft und einem Team mit 150 Mitarbeitern lässt sie es sich nicht nehmen, noch jeden Tag für ihre Söhne zu kochen. Herta Strolz ist eine außergewöhnliche Persönlichkeit mit einem großen Herzen, beeindruckendem Einsatz und erstaunlichem Mut. Und doch ist es ihr Familiensinn, der aus dem Sporthaus Strolz den exklusiven Modeort der Welt gemacht hat, der Stars und Könige ausstattet.

H
er keen eye for fashion, her soft spot for stylish décor and her warmth have made the Strolz sports and fashion store what it is today – an exclusive address for active Arlberg holidaymakers. In 1950 and at the age of 26, Herta Strolz arrived in the then rather unglamorous location of Lech to work as a waitress. She was quickly poached by her future husband Ulrich Strolz for his Strolz sports store, arguing „With your personality, you’ll have no problem in picking up all the necessary skills.“ Soon after, Herta became the head of purchasing and, as such, the driving force behind the company and her husband Ulrich. Based on the idea that snow is white and needs a touch of colour, she has travelled the world in search of unique pieces. Her main inspiration has been the
customer themselves; warmth and affection have always been her number one priority and have made perfect business sense. She is immensely proud of the fact that many of her regular customers from all over the world have become her friends. Herta is still involved in the everyday running of the business and supports her sons Ambros, Daniel and Florian with help and advice. Despite ranking royalty amongst her clientele and having a team of 150 employees, not a day goes by when she doesn’t cook for her sons. Herta Strolz is an extraordinary character with a huge heart, an impressive level of commitment and astonishing courage. Yet it is her sense of family that has made the Strolz sports store the exclusive world fashion centre that it is today, popular with stars and royalty alike.

Sie ist der Shooting Star in der Freeride-Szene und frischgebackene Weltmeisterin. Die Rede ist von Nadine Wallner, 23 Jahre jung und aufgewachsen in Klösterle am Arlberg. Groß geworden mit Skirennlauf, lernte sie durch ihren Vater, einen erfahrenen Bergführer, schon in jungen Jahren die etwas andere Art des Skifahrens kennen. Und da der Apfel bekanntlich nicht weit vom Stamm fällt, hat Nadine schnell ihre Liebe zu den Bergen entdeckt. So kam es, dass sie nach einigen Verletzungen ihre Laufbahn als aktive Skirennläuferin beendete und vom Freeride-Fieber gepackt wurde. She is the shooting star on the freeride scene and the current world champion. Nadine Wallner is only 23 years old and was brought up in Klösterle am Arlberg. Ski racing was part of her childhood and her father, an experienced mountain guide, taught her this rather different type of skiing from an early age. Since the apple never falls too far from the tree, Nadine quickly discovered her love for the mountains. After a few injuries she put a stop to her a career as a ski racer and caught the freeride bug. NADINE, WIE BIST DU IN DIE FREERIDE WORLD TOUR GEKOMMEN? Der Einstieg in die Szene war der 2. WHAT DOES FREERIDING MEAN FOR YOU NOW? With freeriding, I get a sense of freedom that I get nowhere else. WIE BEREITEST DU DICH SPEZIELL AUF DEINE NEUE SAISON VOR? Mein Herz geht für Sportarten wie z. B. das hochalpine Tourengehen auf. Im Sommer gehe ich gerne Klettern, Biken und Surfen. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR THE NEXT SEASON? Sports like high-alpine touring get my adrenaline pumping. In the summer I like to go climbing, biking and surfing. WAS SIND DEINE ZIELE FÜR DIE NÄCHSTEN JAHRE? Das Wichtigste ist natürlich verletzungsfrei bleiben und meinen Titel zu verteidigen. Ich will einfach viele gute Tage draußen in der Natur erleben dürfen. WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE NEXT FEW YEARS?
