Nendo x Wonderglass Shape of Gravity Designed by Nendo founder Oki Sato, the Melt collection is a series of cast glass furniture pieces for Venetian brand WonderGlass, where glass and gravity control the design process. The collection comprises a dozen pieces of furniture all formed by the effects of gravity on molten glass over a pipe or mould, including an armchair, chaise longue, dining table, side table, partition and vase. COS Pavilion London-based fashion brand COS have tapped Arthur Mamou-Mani to collaborate on its next installation, to be presented during design week this year. Mamou-Mani is set to create a digitally fabricated pavilion that will guide visitors through the courtyard and into the surrounding gardens of Palazzo Isimbardi, the 16th-century palace that hosted Phillip K Smith III’s atmospheric ‘open sky‘ sculpture last year. Together with COS, he hopes to combine architecture with the natural world, showcasing the capabilities of digital fabrication and renewable materials. A must-visit on the design week agenda! Superdesign Show SUPERSTUDIO is one of the most sought after and visited destinations of the Milanese design week and this year has been re-thought completely with the SUPERDESIGN SHOW event, bringing visitors the latest designs and the most significant proposals of the year across automotive, 3D software, textiles, furniture and art. The forthcoming edition of the project by Gisella Borioli with the art director Giulio Cappellini, follows the usual mission, only the best, with particular attention to the theme of innovation and tradition. B&O 93 Years of Magic Bang & Olufsen are set to stun visitors to the Fuorisalone exhibition this year with an interactive installation spanning its 93-year history which plans to take us on a guided tour through the brand’s journey from the past to the present. Kvadrat Blue is Devine At this year’s Salone del Mobile, Kvadrat is presenting Blue is Divine, a colourful homage to Finn Sködt: graphic designer, painter and long-time collaborator of Kvadrat. The exhibition is inspired by pure pigments from his workshop and Divina Melange in Sködt’s favourite Ultramarine blue. Celebrating the mark of Finn Sködt and Kvadrat’s extensive collaboration, an updated colour palette of Divina Melange will be launched, accentuating the textiles continuing strong colour story. Useful information New opening hours New opening hours to accredited press are: 8.30 am - 6.30 pm. Venue Fiera Milano, Rho The Salone is easily reached by public transport from the city of Milan. Links from the main stations and airports of Milan. How to get there Entrance gates The Press pass grants direct access to the exhibitions through East Gate, South Gate, West Gate. Non-preaccredited journalists and photoreporter can register at the Press Desk in the Service Centre, entrance from South Gate. The Press Office is located at the Service Centre, 1st floor (nearest entrance: South Gate). A free shuttle service is available during the shows: the external shuttle bus stops at East, West and South Gates and the SaloneSatellite entrance (Cargo 5).
