Top Picks

Aesop Form Follows Formulation

The new Aesop store in Milan's Piazza Cordusio is set to be transformed into a sensory masterpiece by designer Nicolas Schuybroek. Titled "Form Follows Formulation," the installation draws inspiration from Aesop products and Arte Povera minimalism. Schuybroek uses everyday materials like soap bars arranged in a grid, creating portals for visitors to explore. The delicate wooden structure supporting the installation ensures easy disassembly and potential reuse in future locations, reflecting both artistic innovation and sustainability. Top Picks

Alessi Myth Makes Belief

Alessi extends an invitation to PlayLab, Inc. to weave an immersive installation steeped in mythological roots, paying homage to the poetic imagination synonymous with the Italian brand. Visitors are beckoned to engage in enchanting collective encounters, all the while discovering the latest creations by Michael Anastassiades, Naoto Fukasawa with Samiro Yunoki, and Nendo.

Nendo Whispers of Nature

Set in Paola Lenti's transformed industrial complex, the exhibition resides within an eco-architectural haven encompassing showrooms, offices, and green spaces. Amidst this, an old building, soon to be a boutique hotel, hosts the showcase. "Whispers of Nature" unveils five collections inspired by nature's subtle cues often overlooked, from clouds to light and shadow. Additionally, the collaborative Hana-arashi with Paola Lenti will debut at the site.

Lasvit

Re/Creation

A monumental outdoor fused glass installation designed by Art Director Maxim Velcovsky, which redefines the relationship between glass and architecture and invites visitors to experience the magic of Lasvit's creations and the boundless possibilities of glass.

Alcova

Alcova 2024 will take place within two iconic local gems, as the organisers of the itinerant design event announced that the next edition, to be held during Fuorisalone, will take over Villa Borsani and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

This year, the fair pushes further and into more traditional locations, with two historical villas that have contributed to the history of Metropolitan Milan. A Modernist masterpiece located in Varedo, Villa Borsani was completed in 1945 and was designed by architect Osvaldo Borsani for his family. Now preserved by the second generation, the house features stunning elements such as a fireplace by Lucio Fontana, lighting fixtures by Guglielmo Ulrich and a mosaic by Adriano Spilimbergo, as well as several pieces of furniture by Borsani himself (the house also being the HQ for the architect's archives).
