PART TWO HIGHLIGHTS - TOP PRODUCTS

1. FRITZ HANSEN | N01 CHAIR BY NENDO Five things to know about Fritz Hansen’s new N01 chair by Japanese design studio Nendo: - Sculptural and highly detailed, N01 is handmade with a puzzle of 23 pieces of timber. Only using four screws, the rest of the compenets are hammered together. - N01 is Fritz Hansen’s first solid timber chair in 60 years since the Grand Prix in 1957. - The chair is made and meticulously constructed by a Belgian family-owned wood manufacturer founded 1924. - Oki Sato of Nendo cites the creative process developing N01 as one of the highlights of his 15-year long career as a designer. - N01 is available in beech, natural oak and black stained oak, with optional seat cushions in fabric or leather.

2. HAY | ELEMENTAIRE CHAIR BY RONAN & ERWAN BOUROULLEC Five things to know about HAY’s new Elementaire chair by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec: - Brief was to create a simple chair for everyday use at an affordable price, while still being as beautiful as possible; something as simple or inexpensive as a plain white t-shirt or blue jeans. - Elementaire is made with polyproplene and is robust enough to be a long-lasting object, while still appearing delicate with its “elementary” aesthetic with no visible joins in the structure. - “The world is full of plastic chairs with the wrong colours and shapes. Elementaire is not too loud, not too shy. Just exactly balanced. It’s a rough chair that you can use everywhere,” said Ronan Bouroullec. - It was born from the aluminium Hole chair that the Bouroullecs designed for Cappellini in 1999 – a personal favourite of Rolf Hay. - Elementaire is available in 7 colours, and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. RRP AUD $260.

3. CARL HANSEN & SON | INDOOR-OUTDOOR BY BODIL KJAER 5 Five things to know about the new Indoor-Outdoor collection by Bodil Kjaer: - Carl Hansen & Son’s first-ever outdoor collection - Indoor-Outdoor was designed in 1959 and enters production more than six decades later - testament to its timeless cubist aesthetic. - The collection includes a dining chair, dining table, lounge chair, lounge table, two-seater lounge sofa, a swing sofa, and a sunbed. - It is available in solid teak only, wiith or without slender cushions made with weather-resitant Sunbrella fabric. - The collection features square forms that are mortised together – a detail requiring great skill and craftsmanship.

4. NANIMARQUINA | BLUR COLLECTION BY RONAN & ERWAN BOUROULLEC The Blur collection is made with a unique laborious technique that inverts the kilimnweaving process. This change in weaving causes the lines to be blurred, mixing two colours unevenly, creating an aged rug, reminiscent of the past.

1

2

3

When viewing the rug from afar, an indefinite, unfocused surface is apparent. Upon approaching the rug, lines and rhythmic rhombuses in different proportions are revealed, in the purest kinetic style.

4

Blur is available in Black, Green and Red, in three sizes: 170x240cm, 200x300cm and 75x398cm. 5

5. MONTANA | MONTANA FREE BY JACOB WAGNER Montana launches a brand new, elegant and minimalistic freestanding shelving system, Montana Free, designed by the Danish designer Jacob Wagner. The system consists of 12 standard compositions, which can easily be adjusted overtime. The shelves and the tubes are available in four MDF lacquer colours: New White, Fjord, China Red and Black. Optional, vertical textile panels allow you to play with colours and expressions, create personalised screens between rooms, and alter the transparency of the shelving as desired. The panels feature the textile Remix 2 from Kvadrat and are available in the following colours: Purple, Stone, Grey, Natural, Rust, Lilac, Nude and Mustard. Montana Free is delivered flat-packed and is fast and easy to assemble and reconfigure without the use of tools.

6. NAU DESIGNERS EXPERIMENT WITH MATERIALITY At the Local Milan No.3 exhibition in 5Vie, nau designers Tom Fereday and Adam Cornish showed off limited edition finishes for their award-winning designs the Sia chair and Rev stool.

1

Sia - Limited Edition Bronze & Aluminium Working with local artisans in Sydney, Tom Fereday hand-forged the two chair variations from solid Aluminium and Bronze to re-interpret the minimal slender form. Rev - Limited Edition Electroplate Adam Cornish experimented with electroplating to produce one-off coloured finishes for Rev, with the aim to create unique art finishes from an otherwise industrial process. Four different coloured solutions were experimented with to make up the base colour, however it is the electrical current that creates the unique patterns and nuances of individual finishes, from iridescent golds and blues, through to rich champagne and muted browns and blacks. 1 | Sia chair by Tom Fereday for nau in limited edition cast bronze and aluminium 2 | Detail of Rev stooby Adam Cornish for nau in limited edition electro-plate finish 3 | Rev stool limited edition in green champagne 4 | Rev stool limited edition in gold 5 | Rev stool limited edition in black 6 | Rev stool limited edition in brown
