ACC Virtual Jeopardy Competition

Game Rules • All contestants must be current fellows-in-training at a CV fellowship program in the state. • All FIT members on a team must be present in the same room and the video camera featured turned on and facing the designated "typist." Social distancing rules should be maintained. We encourage FIT teams to use a common quiet location in their hospital/training institution (e.g. echocardiography reading room etc.). • The use of social media/dial-a-friend/internet search options is not allowed. • This is an honor-based competition, and we kindly ask FITs to comply with these rules.

• The first round of 20 questions will be a "multiple-choice answer" format in which contestants identify the correct answer from four (4) answer options. Teams have seven (7) seconds to lock-in/select their answers.

• The second round of 20 questions will be a "fill-in-the-blank" answer format, in which contestants supply the correct answer "What is XXX?" Teams have ten (10) seconds to type-in and submit their answers.

Competition Format: Two (2) rounds of Jeopardy competition

• Teams are expected to log-in/register about 15 minutes prior to the start-time, to ensure that their computers and cameras are set-up properly. The technical team from Team-Bonding (our virtual platform for the competition) will be available to assist. • Each round is allotted 30 minutes i.e. 60 minutes of competition. • The host and moderator will read the question for the audience, after which the questions will be open for teams to select/type in the correct answer. • After teams have submitted their answers and/or the allotted answer timeframe has elapsed, the moderator will read the explanation/teaching slide for the audience and participant teams. • There will be a 10-minute break in-between rounds. During the break-period, state chapter leaders will be invited to speak and share words with their teams. • Post-competition, the overall winner for the five (5) competing states will be announced.

• Answers are automatically adjudicated by the computer software which has been prepopulated with the correct answers including alternate forms for a correct answer (e.g. universally used acronyms etc.). • The computer system automatically time-stamps each submitted answer. The team with the fastest submitted correct answer rises to the top of the leader score board, and gets to select the next question in play. • Unlike the in-person Jeopardy competition, all teams can play/submit answers for any selected question. • Unlike the in-person Jeopardy competition, all teams are locked out from submitting an answer when seven seconds (MCQ question) or ten seconds (fill-in-the-blank question) time frame has elapsed.

• Post-competition, CV fellowship training directors can receive a transcript of their team's scores and their answers for each question for postcompetition educational feedback/review with their team. Anticipate 1-2 weeks for transcript to be finalized.
