Kailyn started work at Cazenovia College in 2013. She started her career as a mathematics tutor for summer college and then became the Associate Director of Project REACH in January of 2014. During her tenure at the college, Kailyn has grown the REACH membership exponentially—creating a vibrant and welcoming academic environment for our membership. She has also spurred growth in student programming: Financial Aid Workshops, the REACH Expo and the annual REACH Conference. Her proudest moments are the ever special Senior Dinner each year, as our students prepare to graduate! Thank you, Kailyn, for your hard work, leadership, mentoring and inspiration‌.on behalf of the REACH students, your Staff and your Peers. xoxo 2

Advice for first-year students? I would tell myself that I can fulfill all my desires as long as prioritize. Be the best you that you can be, just don’t get consumed by the outside world. You got this!

Jordan Thornton Sophomore

Major: Studio Art, Arts Management Hometown: Oneida, NY Advice for first-year students? One piece of advice that I would give myself is to not be scared to interact and ask questions to either peer or a professor.

Melany Munoz Gonzalez Junior Major: Psychology Hometown: Elmsford, NY Advice for first-year students? Nobody is going to love you or believe in you the way you do. Times will get hard but you are strong enough to get through anything.

Kassidy Karram Senior Major: Management, Accounting Hometown: Deansboro, NY Advice for first-year students? Don’t procrastinate, get everything done before the deadline, do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help, use your time wisely, write down important dates in your planer and if you don’t have one get one, and use the study hours they make a world of difference!

Kayla March Sophomore Major: Inclusive Elementary Education

Hometown: Munnsvills, NY Advice for first-year students? The advice I would give myself would be to stop doubting myself. And to tell myself that I’m going to make it, the only way I’m not going to make it, is by giving up!

Emily Burr Sophomore Major: Psychology, Pre Art Therapy Hometown: Cherry Valley, NY Advice for first-year students? If I could go back to freshman year I would tell myself to stop apologizing for who I am and that I should be my most authentic self because the right people will come around to love who I truly am. I would also tell myself to stop buying so many snacks and to return my rental books.

Sean Decker Senior Major: Human Services Minor: Psychology Hometown: Middletown, NY Advice for first-year students? Get involved with clubs and activities, because it will help you meet people and will make you come out of your shell. One more piece of advice is that you should take full advantage of your resources. HEOP, the CTL, Career Services, etc.”

Olivia Deraway Sophomore Major: Inclusive Elementary Education Hometown: Rome, NY Advice for first-year students? Don’t be afraid to start more conversations with people you don’t already know.
