Project REACH is proud to congratulate Sierra Detrick on her acceptance into Alpha Chi. Sierra represents our program as the sole member to receive this honor. She earned her acceptance by placing in the top ten percent of the class of 2016. Sierra is currently a senior at Cazenovia College, expected to graduate in May, 2016 with a BFA in Visual Communications. She grew up on beautiful Lake George in the town of Bolton Landing surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains. She likes to spend most of her free time creating, painting, drawing or sculpting, bit also enjoys singing, performing, skiing, and ice hockey. After graduation she intends to go into graduate school to pursue an MFA in Design or multimedia. After Graduate school, she hopes to work in the field of socially responsible design that supports different causes and charities to influence change. In addition, she would like to earn the title of creative director and possibly begin her own small business in the later years of her career. 3

Senior

Melonie Madramootoo Major: Management Accounting Dual minor: Business & Entrepreneurship

Melonie has been the vice president of Service for the chapter house on campus, Alpha Eta Sigma-Alpha Phi Omega for two years. She plans and participates in many service projects on campus, and in the community. Melonie is also the vice president of the Student Government Association (SGA). For the fall 2015 semester, she is the Acting President as the President is abroad. In November, Melonie will attend a conference in Washington D.C. for SGA with the rest of the Executive Board. She has been the Business Club treasurer for two years and has also been inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alphi Pi. With seven classes and two jobs as both an employee of the Dining Services ( 3 1/2 years) and a clerical assistant for the admissions office (2 1/2 years), Melonie is a pretty busy lady! Finally, Melonie is doing her capstone project with three other students—based on the Tiny House Movement. With so much on her plate, Melonie knows you have to keep “your head in the game.” She keeps reminding herself that without a bit of darkness in life, you could never shine. Keep up the good work, Melonie! 6
