I knew that I wanted to write about volunteering this month. And as I was thinking about what to write, the well-known quote from President John F. Kennedy came to Michelle Laird DIALS mind: Editor/publisher “And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” One of my special talents is relating things to my vast arsenal of knowledge about The Walt Disney Company. When we were picking up the August issue of INFO, my mom commented that I’ve always been fascinated by Walt Disney World — from our first family vacation

know what's going on.

Celebrating 75! United Way of Cass County is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2012 and each month, we’ll highlight a United Way agency or program. This month, we’re focusing on Mental Health America, with an excerpt from a guest column written by executive director Karen Waldron. Our United Way of Cass County has funded much of the programming offered to people with mental illness through our Agency. We have an acute awareness that without your financial gifts to the United Way our doors would not remain open. When someone approaches you asking for a donation, please take a moment and think about all of the

wonderful services our community is blessed with. Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Food finders, Cass Transit, Salvation Army, YMCA, Mental Health America, and United Way of Cass County are all funded by you generous donations. This makes Cass County a great place to live with only one way to go and that’s UP, UP, UP!
