Collaborations

Collaborations may evolve from a piece in our product range or may be an entirely bespoke design. Naomi and her studio team work closely to interpret and realise our clients visions and expectations.

“We collaborated with Naomi on our project for the Conde Nast School of Fashion and Design, a project which demanded a high level of professionalism, sophistication and originality. On our search for an entrance feature light fitting, we were looking for a unique piece that could provide a gentle nod towards the fashion context of the project and a timeless installation that works with the client’s strong brand. Under a demanding programme, Naomi worked closely with us and our clients to create an outstanding light installation that has become the focal point of the building’s entrance. Her personal involvement from inception to the installation on site ensured a high level of quality throughout the project, and we’d be delighted to work with her again in the near future” Oliver Kampshoff, Fielden Clegg Bradley Architects (FCB Studio)

Making Crochet ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: from French, diminutive of croc ‘hook’, from Old Norse krókr

The textile construction technique of crochet is a system of loops pulled through loops. At Naomi Paul studio this process has been explored and pared back to reveal the pure structural elements and their inherent sculptural beauty much akin to the principles of modernist architecture. Hand spun Oeko-Tex standard dyed mercerised cotton yarn is worked using birch wood tools by highly skilled craftsmen. Each pendant is handcrafted to order in Great Britain.

Sustainability is a key part of Naomi’s design process and is integral to the development of each product from material sourcing and innovative construction techniques, through to packaging, delivery and end of life considerations.
