Courtney & James How They Met After a friend of Courtney’s encouraged her to download Tinder, a handsome man’s face popped up on Courtney’s Tinder app. She clicked the “check” in approval of James’ photo because “Come on, he’s perfect!” she laughs. Throughout that day James’ picture came up over and over, and Courtney couldn’t “check” or “x” the box enough! A few days later, she found she had a match with James. They spent the next week talking late into the night- a big change from Courtney’s normal 10:30 PM bedtime routine. Courtney says she could hardly wait to see James in person, so another week later, she and a friend took a trip to College Station to meet him. The following weekend, Courtney took a road trip by herself to spend more time with James, and within the next month, they were officially together online and off. The Proposal The two planned a dinner at the Dutchman Family Winery with mutual friends, but Courtney says she was not expecting anything special because the couple meets their friends there on other occasions. While walking around the property, Courtney and James’ friend Leila took some photos of the wedding ceremony area and the vineyard. When Leila asked if James and Courtney wanted a few photos together, of course Courtney did! James began tapping Courtney on her shoulder while Leila took the photos, but Courtney was completely oblivious to what was going on- almost annoyed because she was trying to look at the camera! Finally, James spun her around, dropped to one knee, and proposed to Courtney in one of the most beautiful settings on one of the most beautiful nights of their lives. The Wedding Courtney had dreamed of her wedding day for as long as she could remember. She wanted it to be just perfect. With the perfect groom, she was off to a great start in making her wedding dreams come true. While walking down the aisle with her father, Courtney was surprised that her father was choked up with emotion for his daughter. She says that was one of her favorite parts of the day- “a wonderful surprise”. She saw her groom tearing up as well, and she felt overwhelmed with happiness that she was marrying her best friend while being surrounded by all the love of their friends and family. Courtney hired Kate Rose Creative Group and other top-rated vendors to work their magic, and they absolutely did! The decor, the cake, the speeches, the chandeliers, and the lighting were all beyond words for Courtney. Courtney and James say that some great memories were made on the dance floor while everyone celebrated their union.

Kallie & Ethan
How They Met Kallie and Ethan went to Lorena High School together where it was no secret that Kallie had a big crush on him. Ethan was Mr. Personality in his class- he played sports and was in FFA. In fact, it was during an FFA competition at Texas State where Kallie first talked to Ethan and realized just how funny and sweet he was. “I distinctly remember going back to school the next day and telling all of my friends that I was going to marry Ethan Boyd one day,” Kallie says. Later, during Kallie’s senior year of high school, they reconnected, but Ethan was already at A&M. Once Kallie graduated, she joined him at the University, where she says she realized on a deeper level how selfless and caring Ethan was. They spent their college years together, and grew in love, while Kallie dreamed of a proposal one day. The Proposal The summer before Kallie’s last semester of college, she and Ethan went shopping for engagement rings, so she was ready! That December, Ethan took Kallie to the San Antonio Riverwalk as a graduation gift. They walked along the Riverwalk to enjoy the Christmas lights display, and walked to dinner at their favorite spot there- Joe’s Crab Shack. “It might not sound romantic, but you don’t understand our love for crab legs!” they laugh. After dinner, they continued to walk down the Riverwalk to snap pictures. On a particularly pretty bridge that looked down over the river, Ethan suggested that they ask a passerby to take a picture of them. As they were about to walk away from their photo op, Ethan suggested they take just one more photo, throwing Kallie off guard. Mid-photo, Ethan, pulled out a beautiful ring and asked her to marry him while they stood on the bridge in front of the Christmas lights. December 4th became one of the most magical, exciting nights of Kallie’s life! “Words can’t explain what a great feeling it was!” she gushes. They rode off in a carriage, and had such a beautiful night, excited for the next chapter in their lives together. Waco Wedding Kallie and Ethan said “I Do” on April 9, 2016 at Bear Creek. “When we went to look at Bear Creek, I fell in love with the atmosphere and the blank canvas that would make all of my dreams come to life.” Kallie says that Bear Creek’s owner Shannon was amazing to work with, as she helped to transform the space into Kallie’s low-key non-traditional wedding day vision. Kallie created a lot of the decor herself, which gave her a fun opportunity to practice her calligraphy and bouquet-making skills! With vintage seating and a comfortable setting, Kallie and Ethan’s guests were able to sit, hang out, eat and join in on dancing. It was the perfect way to merge their lives together and celebrate with everyone they loved. Kallie and Ethan hired many top vendors that were featured in Bliss’ fall issue which featured Bear Creek on the cover, supporting many of our local businesses we love to work with.
