Casual creativity is taking the wedding industry by storm in 2020. From intimate backyard gatherings, self-serve bars, to late-night snacks from fast food favorites like Whataburger, we have all of the details!

1. FRAMED BACKDROPS Say goodbye to traditional arches and say hello to open frame concepts! From circles, geometric shapes, triangles, to multiple framed rectangles, open frame backdrops are all the rage. Add in florals or draping to add that perfect elegant touch!

2. ON THE GROUND “FOCAL” PIECES Floral arrangements are not just for ceremony backdrops or centerpieces. In 2020 we are seeing them make their way to the ground at the ends of tables and the edge of guests seats down the aisle. These make for great “focal” pieces and add a more unanticipated element. No need for a vase- having them look as if they are planted gives for a more relaxed and causal vibe.

3. LATE-NIGHT SNACKS Fast food may be the last thing you think you would see at a wedding reception. But think again! Unique food twists at the end of night leaves a lasting impression on guests. Personalize the experience by serving the meal in a Whataburger bag with personalized stickers with your wedding date, and a phrase like “What-A-Night”!

5. SELF-SERVE BARS The food truck trend has been around for a couple of years already, but mobile vendors don’t just stop at food in 2020! Self-serve bars are a fun, refreshing alternative to the traditional cocktail bar. Since guests can help themselves, this gives for a more fun, casual experience and reduces those long lines at the bar!

4. STYLISH BOUQUETS Traditional bouquets are a thing of the past! Putting bouquets inside bags, wreath bouquets, lanterns, or fans with florals are just a few options that add for that unexpected surprise!

Upscale charcuterie boards, known as grazing tables or feasting tables are great for creating an informal vibe at your wedding. Whether you offer grazing tables as a cocktail hour option or replace the main course with a family-style spread, this is a fun alternative for your guests.

From lining your aisle with vintage rugs and seating your guests at picnic tables to serving unexpected treats that you’d eat at a barbeque, like mini churros and ice cream sandwiches. his summer we not only celebrated our newest issue and what was to come in 2020, but we also brought back our Bliss Bridal Awards! Hundreds of brides casted their votes over a two month voting period and the results are in!

Also, if you haven’t heard there are a lot of fun changes happening over here at Bliss! After surveying 125 brides, we took their feedback and got to work! We now have two larger magazines per year vs. three and each one now launches at our bridal shows in January and June. We have also increased our real wedding features, added more content per magazine and added a very useful tool in the back “The Bliss Bridal Bible,” what we like to call the Holy Grail of wedding vendors. We hope that you love all of these new and exciting changes and as always we hope this helps make the planning process that much easier!

"All morning I was so calm and collected but the second I stepped inside our venue all my wedding jitters flooded out.
