ARTBA 2013 Leadership Directory & Buyers' Guide

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE It’s been said that one of the secrets to success is, “Who you know, not what you know.” While most industry firms and organizations join ARTBA because of its 110-year track record in successfully growing and protecting the transportation construction market, the association is also a full-service, 21st century association that provides its members with access to people, products, and information that can help them succeed. To that end, one valuable tool is ARTBA’s annual “Leadership Directory & Buyers’ Guide.” This publication is a “who’s who” of the top executives and companies in the transportation infrastructure business. The directory provides contact information for ARTBA leaders, including the officers and members of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, the Council of State Executives, Past Chairman’s Council, and life members. We also include listings of all Young Executive Development Program graduates, along with rosters of the major committees and councils.

Steve Wright 2013 ARTBA Chairman

A searchable database of contact information for all 5,000+ ARTBA members can be found in the “Members’ only” section of www.artba.org. Be sure to check out the Buyers’ Guide, which begins on page B-1, for a showcase of products and services from ARTBA member firms. It provides a description of each company’s offerings and contact information so that you can connect with a wide variety of suppliers, manufacturers, design firms and contractors. Special thanks to all of the advertisers and Buyers’ Guide supporters! You help make the production of this directory possible. I hope you will use it frequently during 2013!

LIFE MEMBERS Honorary Life Membership is one of the highest honors ARTBA bestows. This honor is given to recognize extraordinary, long-term service to the association. The following are guidelines for nominating an individual for ARTBA Life Membership: 1. Has the individual held ARTBA membership for at least 15 years? 2. Has the individual served at least five years in ARTBA leadership positions? This would include service as an: ARTBA Officer, Division Officer, Member of the ARTBA Board of Directors, Advisory Council Chairman or ARTBA Committee Chairman. 3. Has the individual provided—or helped generate—substantial, extraordinary financial support to the association through individual contributions, fundraising, or membership development? 4. Does the individual want to receive a Life Membership? 5. ARTBA Life Membership is automatically bestowed on those individuals who are honored as recipients of the annual ARTBA Award.

ARTBA AWARD WINNERS In 1960, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association established the “ARTBA Award” to recognize individuals for outstanding contributions that have advanced the broad goals of the association. It is the highest honor the association bestows. Many distinguished members of the transportation construction industry have received the award, including more than a dozen U.S. representatives and U.S. senators, two U.S. secretaries of transportation and two state governors.
