We’re not the troubles we face, but how we choose to face them.

When Tajik farmer Benham is forced to tell a daring lie to protect his farmlands from violent interlopers, he also invents a wild scheme, sending his son, Fariad, to England to find the evidence that will prove his untruth. Once there, Fariad develops a relationship with an emotionally damaged girl, Jennifer, which interferes with Benham’s carefully laid plans. The three rapidly find themselves in a situation where they are forced to choose between their own and each other’s freedom in this powerful story of seduction, betrayal and avarice.
