CONGRATULATIONS

Scenes from previous awards events.

Coast businesses rise to the challenge of success  BUSINESS NSW | PAULA MARTIN ONGRATULATIONS to all the finalists of the 2021 Central Coast Business Awards proudly brought to you by Business NSW. The 2021 Central Coast Business Awards showcase and recognise the talent, innovation and entrepreneurship with finalists coming from the north through to the South of our region.

C

The last 18 months has seen our business community face the ravages of Covid-19, floods and all off the back of the devastating Black Summer Bushfires. This environment upended our ‘business normal’. It challenged the way we did business, how we managed our people and how we serviced our customers. All our business were affected. But business stepped up to the challenge. They became agile and

innovative so our region could power on and keep our locals in jobs. The 10 Awards culminating to the prestigious Central Coast Regional Business of the Year, celebrates business perseverance, resilience and importantly showcases business excellence. With nearly 100 businesses entering the 2021 Central Coast Business Awards, finalists were carefully selected for their excellence in best practice operations, customer man-

agement, employee engagement and their resilience through the difficulty of the last 18 months. The Gala event is being made possible thanks to our Platinum Sponsor NBN Co, Premium Sponsor University of Newcastle, Media Partner Central Coast Business Access and category Sponsors: Central Coast Council, Unity Bank Central Coast and Gosford Industry Training Hub. See inside for the full list of finalists and their stories.

EMAND for home carers in aged care has skyrocketed, as many senior Australians choose to stay at home and avoid moving into aged care facilities. Australia’s leading home care agency, Home Instead, has casual vacancies for carers across the Central Coast – and is especially encouraging older applicants who are looking for a more rewarding career change. “We’d love to see more applications from professionals who might have lost jobs in hard-hit industries such as hospitality, tourism and retail. We know they already

D

have really wonderful transferrable skills that are perfect for the in-home care industry,” Ms Jasmine Hopcraft said. “We’re a people-focused industry delivering exceptional customer service and as a recognised Employer of Choice we offer our CAREGivers a rewarding career role that can be very flexible around other commitments. Many of our current CAREGivers are parents of school-aged children or ‘empty nesters’ who might be finding it difficult to be re-employed in their former service-related industry.” Zelda Collocott joined Home Instead

as a CAREGiver in November 2020, after being retrenched from her job with a food services company at the beginning of the pandemic. “It’s so fulfilling, to me it’s not a job. You just think every single day that you want to go to work. That alone is a fantastic feeling, to wake up and look forward to going to work! It’s so rewarding to come home every evening and know that you’ve really made a difference to other people’s lives.” Contact Home Instead today and join an award-winning team.

Finalists announced for 2021

Central Coast Business Awards set to shine USINESS NSW is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2021 Central Coast NSW Business Awards. The Central Coast NSW Business Awards recognise growth, entrepreneurship, and celebrates business success and resilience. This year the 2021 Central Coast Business Awards received nearly 100 applications for 10 different categories. “These awards are a wonderful opportunity to showcase the ingenuity, strength and resilience of Central Coast NSW businesses.” Business NSW Regional Director Paula Martin said. “The last few years have been incredibly tough as businesses have been impacted bushfires, floods and now Covid. “When we launched these awards earlier in the year, we hadn’t expected we would be dealing with the current lockdown. “But like our business members, we too have pivoted and plan to announce the winners of each category at a gala event delivered with the same usual glitz and glamour on October 8 in a unique and exciting online ceremony that is safe for all our community. With the support of Platinum Sponsor NBN Co and Premium Partner The University of Newcastle, Business NSW will hand deliver a full celebratory experience straight to finalist and guest homes to enjoy while they watch a live stream of the event–which means family, staff and friends can all join in celebrating successes on the night. Winners of the 2021 Central Coast Business Awards, will then represent the region at the State Business Awards to be held in November.

B

“Based on the calibre of this year’s finalists, I expect that our regional winners will again do very well at the State Business Awards,Paula Martin.

Making sense of business numbers AZOODLE is a proud Central Coast business insights platform that was co-founded by entrepreneur, Andrew Paton-Smith who lives at The Entrance. Jazoodle integrates with a business’ Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks accounting system, and in under 60 seconds, creates a stunning dashboard of business health performance, and optionally, an indicative business valuation. “Financial distress and business failure for small and medium businesses is incredibly consistent in terms of numbers across most modern economies. The personal, and wider societal impact

J

of businesses not achieving what their creators had planned, can be huge, but in many cases, avoidable,” Says Andrew. “Jazoodle overcomes one of the reasons for financial distress, that of having access to timely financial indicators and the trends within them”. Jazoodle is free for individual companies, and easily sharable with a business’ accountant, bookkeeper, or business advisor, so that they can get the advice they need when they need it. For advisory partners, Jazoodle crunches slient’s numbers, giving partners time to spend on advice giving. Jazoodle’s plans include the release

of additional functionality this year such as consolidated financial reporting, green eco score, and ultimately, simple to use business forecasting and scenario modelling. “Our whole ethos is simplicity and speed. We know that businesses and their advisors do not have the time to grapple with complex, or time-consuming applications. We bring this into every part of our business and platform, so no matter your level of financial understanding, Jazoodle can help you make sense of your business numbers.” Find out more at www.jazoodle.com
