AGÜ - İTÜ KKTC İş Birliği /Cooperation Between AGU - ITU North Cyprus
Abdullah Gül Üniversitesi (AGÜ) ile İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (İTÜ) KKTC, eğitim ve öğretimin tüm alanlarında karşılıklı iş birliğini ve ortak çalışma anlayışını teşvik etmek, geliştirmek ve desteklemek amacıyla, eğitsel, bilimsel, yönetsel tüm konularda iş birliği yapacak. İşbirliğinin ikinci aşamasında ise KKTC Sanayi ve Ticaret Odalarıyla Kayseri Sanayi ve Ticaret Odaları ile bir konsorsiyum oluşturulması hedefleniyor. Bu amaçla, Sümer Kampüsü Senato Salonunda rektör yardımcıları, dekanlar ve bölüm başkanlarının katıldığı toplantıyla, her iki üniversite arasında iş birliği protokolü imzalandı. Burada konuşan AGÜ Rektörü Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu, imzaladıkları işbirliği protokolü ile ilerleyen zaman içinde akademisyen ve öğrenci değişimi yapabileceklerini söyledi. Ulusal üniversitelerde sinerji oluşturmaktan yana olduklarını belirten İTÜ KKTC Rektörü Prof. Dr. Ercan Kahya da KKTC Sanayi ve Ticaret Odalarıyla Kayseri Sanayi ve Ticaret Odalarını bir yerde toplamak istediklerini de belirterek, üniversitelerle beraber, bir konsorsiyum oluşturmak istediklerini söyledi. Daha sonra, hazırlanan protokol imzalandı. Abdullah Gül University and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) North Cyprus will cooperate in educational, scientific and managerial affairs in order to encourage, improve and support cooperation and collaboration in all areas of education. In the second phase of the cooperation, a consortium is aimed to be built with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in TRNC and Kayseri.
To that end, a protocol was signed with the two universities in a meeting attended by vice rectors, deans and department heads in the Senate Room on the Sümer Campus. Making a speech at the meeting, AGU Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu said, thanks to the protocol they singed, it will be possible to exchange academics and students in the future. ITU North Cyprus Rector Prof. Ercan Kahya said, they prefer are in favor of creating synergy between national universities and added, they would like to bring together the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in TRNC and Kayseri to create a consortium. After the speeches, the protocol was signed.
AGÜ Öğrencileri Walt Disney’de Staj Yapacak / AGU Students Will Do Internships at the Walt Disney Company
Abdullah Gül Üniversitesi öğrencileri, Forbes’a göre dünyanın en güçlü 10 şirketinden biri olan Walt Disney’de staj yapacak. Abdullah Gül University students will do internships at the Walt Disney Company, pointed as one of the top 10 most powerful companies in the world by Forbes. Endüstri Mühendisliği 3’ncü sınıf öğrencileri Burhan Özyılmaz ve Canan Aslı Altıok ile İşletme Bölümü 3’ncü sınıf öğrencisi Sümeyye Atak, Walt Disney’in “International College Program” adlı programı için Orlando, Disneyland’de yaz stajı yapmak üzere kabul aldı.
3rd year Industrial Engineering students Burhan Özyılmaz, Canan Aslı Altıok and a 3rd year Business Administration student Sümeyye Atak has been accepted into the “International College Program” of Walt Disney and will go to Disneyland, Orlando for a summer internship.
Öğrenciler, Walt Disney’deki yaz stajlarında hem çeşitli departmanlarda iş tecrübesi kazanacaklar, hem de yabancı dilde anlama ve konuşma, takım çalışması gibi birçok yeteneklerini de geliştirmek için fırsat bulacaklar. Aynı zamanda Akfen Holding de, öğrencilere ulaşım bursu vererek başarılarını destekledi.
During their summer internships, students will be able to gain work experience in various departments at Walt Disney. They will also have a chance to improve many vital skills such as teamworking and understanding and speaking English. Akfen Holding will also support the students with travel grants.
CELT Atölye Çalışmaları /
CELT Workshops
AGÜ öğretim üyelerinin ve asistanlarının pratik öğrenme tekniklerini geliştirecek ve akademik hayatlarına katkı sağlayacak “İyi Uygulamalar Paylaşımı” (Sharing Best Practices) başlığı altında başlatılan atölye çalışmaları devam ediyor. CELT tarafından hazırlanan atölye çalışması kapsamında “Araştırmanızı fonlamak: Mümkün yol haritaları” Mühendislik Fakültesi Öğretim Üyesi Doç. Dr. Evren Mutlugün’ün katılımı ile gerçekleşti. Seminerde ulusal ve uluslararası kurumlardan verilen destekler ve bu desteklere başvuru süreçleri ve deneyimler anlatıldı. Öteyandan, MEF Üniversitesi Eğitim Teknolojileri Koordinatörü Dinçer Özoran tarafından yürütülen seminerde ise “Flipped Learning (Ters Yüz Öğrenme)” konulu atölye çalışması yapıldı. Çalışmada, “Neden Flipped Learning?”, “Neden Şimdi?” ve “Flipped Learning” yaklaşımının günümüzdeki bilgi ekosisteminde neden anlamlı olduğu konusuna odaklanıldı. There is a on-going workshop series themed around “Sharing Best Practices”, where AGU faculty members and assistants improve their practical learning techniques and academic lives. The workshop “Funding Your Research: Available Road Maps” organized by the CELT was given by Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Evren Mutlugün. At the workshop, grants of national and international institutions and application procedures for these grants were discussed and relevant experiences were shared. Besides, Dinçer Özoran, education technologies coordinator at MEF University, gave a seminar and workshop about “Flipped Learning.” At the workshop, questions of “Why Flipped Learning?”, “Why Now?”, and “Why Flipped Learning makes sense within the current knowledge ecosystem?” were discussed.

Endüstri Mühendisliği ve İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümleri tarafından kariyer söyleşileri düzenlendi.
The Industrial and Civil Engineering Departments organized career talks.
Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümü ve Yöneylem Kulübü ile ortaklaşa organize edilen “Kariyer Yolunda Seyrüsefer” etkinlikleri kapsamında, “Savunma Sektöründe Kariyer” ve “Yazılım Sektöründe Kariyer” konulu iki ayrı söyleşiye öğrenciler ilgi gösterdi.
With the collaboration of the Industrial Engineering Department and Operational Research Student Club, “Career in Defense Industry” and “Career in Software Industry” seminars were held as parts of “Kariyer Yolunda Seyrüsefer” (Navigation on the Career Road) events and followed with interest by students.
Savunma Sektöründe Kariyer konulu söyleşiye ASELSAN yöneticileri Murat Aslan ve Şafak Baykal konuşmacı olarak katıldı. Yazılım Sektöründe Kariyer konulu söyleşiye ise Dassault Systemes firması yöneticisi Orhan Gencel konuşmacı olarak katıldı. İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü tarafından düzenlenen seminere uluslararası proje yönetimi ve iş geliştirme konularında çalışan International Project Management & Services firması ile Link İnşaat Ltd. Şirketlerinin Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Atayla Varlık katılarak inşaat sektörü ve bu sektörde dünyada ve Türkiye’deki gelişmeleri anlattı.
Speakers of the “Career in Defense Industry” seminar were Murat Aslan and Şafak Baykal, managers from ASELSAN. Orhan Gencel, senior executive at Dassault Systèmes, on the other hand, was the guest speaker of the “Career in Software Industry” seminar. At the seminar organized by the Civil Engineering Department, Atayla Varlık, board member at International Project Management & Services, an international project management and business development company, and general director of Link Construction, was the speaker and informed about sectoral developments in the world and Turkey.

Osmanlı tarihinin en gözde sanat dallarından biri olan çini sanatını yaşatmak ve bu sanata ilgi çekmek amacıyla düzenlenen sergide bazı öğrenciler ile akademik ve idari personel tarafından hazırlanan eserler yer aldı.

Öğrenciler ile akademik ve idari personel, çini hocası Zekiye Akçakaya Ünal eşliğinde, Osmanlı’dan bu yana devam eden geleneksel Türk sanatı çiniyi ustalıkla icra ederek, sanat severlerin beğenisine sundu. “The Exhibition of Tile Paintings by AGU Artists” showcased around 100 works made of ceramics and glass coating. BİLSEM’e Ziyaret /
A Visit to BILSEM
Rektör Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu, üstün ve özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitim aldığı Çetin Şen Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi’ni (BİLSEM) ziyaret ederek, burada öğrencilerle sohbet etti ve hayallerini dinledi. Ziyarette BİLSEM yönetimi ile görüşen Prof. Dr. Sabuncuoğlu, eğitimlerle ilgili bilgiler aldı. BİLSEM’i gezdi ve derslere girerek öğrenci ve öğretmenlerle görüştü, gösterilen çabaları övdü. Üstün yetenekli çocuklar konusunun çok önemli, milli ve hassas bir konu olduğunu vurguladı. Daha sonra okulun konferans salonunda öğrencilerle bir araya gelen Prof. Dr. Sabuncuoğlu, onların hayallerini dinledi. Öğrencilere hayallerinin peşinden koşmalarını öneren Sabuncuoğlu, özellikle temel bilimlere ilgi göstermelerini istedi.
Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu visited Çetin Şen Science and Art Center (Bilsem) where gifted children in Kayseri are educated. He chatted with them and listened to their dreams. Prof. Sabuncuoğlu spoke with the management of Bilsem and received information on education therein. The Rector also took a tour of the school, joined some classes, spoke with teachers and complemented on all the effort he witnessed. He stressed that any issue regarding gifted children is very important, national and sensitive. Later on, Prof. Sabuncuoğlu met with students at the school conference hall and listened to their dreams. Advising students to go after their dreams, Sabuncuoğlu asked students to get involved with basic sciences in particular.

AGÜ Korosu’ndan Pop Konseri /
AGU Music Ensemble’s Pop Concert
Öğrenci Kulüpleri tarafından, Sağlık, Kültür ve Spor Daire Başkanlığı’nın desteğiyle kamp, gezi ve tiyatro düzenlendi. Genç Tema Kulübü’nün düzenlediği kampta, 45 öğrenci Bolu Abant’ta kamp yaptı. Tarih ve Idea Camp Kulüpleri de “Ecdada Saygı Çanakkale Gezisi” düzenlendi. Geziye çeşitli bölümlerden 45 öğrenci katıldı. Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Kulübü ise Kültür ve Turizm Müdürlüğü Salonu’nda “Kanlı Nigar” adlı tiyatro oyununu sahneledi. Yapı Kulübü de Katar’ın başkenti Doha’ya teknik gezi düzenleyerek, Doha’da yer alan projeleri yerinde inceledi.
Abdullah Gül Üniversitesi Müzik Topluluğu pop müzik konseri verdi. Sümer Kampüsü Rektörlük Konferans Salonunda verilen konserde topluluk, 70’li ve 80’li yılların popüler eserlerini hem solo hem koro halinde seslendirdi. Sadece türk pop Müziği değil, aynı zamanda yabancı pop müzik şarkılar da okuyan topluluk, seslendirdikleri Türkçe, İngilizce ve Fransızca şarkılarla dinleyicileri 70’li ve 80’li yıllara götürdü. Şef Zarife Kırdök yönetimindeki konseri yaklaşık 300 kişi izledi. AGÜ Müzik Topluluğu, başarılı bir performans sergileyerek, konser sonunda ayakta alkışlandı.
The Student Clubs organized camps, tours and plays with the support of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. The TEMA Youth Club organized a camp in Abant, Bolu and hosted 45 students. The History and Idea Camp clubs organized “Çanakkale Tour for Respect of Ancestors.” 45 students with different majors joined the tour. The Music and Performing Arts Club staged the “Kanlı Nigar” play at the theater hall of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. Last but not least, there were technical visits to Dubai and Abu Dhabi organized by the Construction Club.
The Abdullah Gül University (AGU) Music Ensemble gave a pop concert. Held at the Rectorate Conference Hall on the Sümer Campus, the concert featured solo and choir performances of popular songs from the 70s and 80s. The Ensemble sang both Turkish and foreign pop music and took the audience back to the 70s and 80s with Turkish, English and French songs. Around 300 music lovers listened to the concert directed by conductor Zarife Kırdök. The AGU Music Ensemble put in such a successful performance that the audience got to their feet and applauded strongly at the end.
