TRAFFIC LIGHT BALL GETS GREEN LIGHT P A R T Y REVIEW Ibiza Uncovered A true Ibiza night dressed head to toe in our best white attire, sipping cocktails under the Spanish night sky and to finish the night a British scrum involving the big and burly men of UK Ireland and Serbia. Prize for the best white attire goes to Arseni Timofejev from the UK who was decked out in white shirt, shorts and jumper, looking like he had just hopped off his yacht for the night. The cocktails were a welcome addition to the EASA bar, and we can presume added to the number of participants missing from workshops, feeling a bit delicate after last nights´ mega party. The Serbians supplied awesome music once again, although to a slightly empty basement as the crowds were hanging out under the canopy with their cocktails. In the early hours of the morning a new sport was created - Sumo-Rugby. The general rules involve a rugby- like scrum position where two or men try to push each other out a ring. After a few too many mojitos the Irish challenged the big strong Serbian men to a game. And so after gathering a few more from the UK team to help, they assembled a line. However, too many cocktails and too many men caused a wobble and the scrum collapsed. Luckily it all calmed down after that and they shook hands, like all good sportsmen. Sumo-rugby won't be making it to the Olympics any time soon!

TRAFFIC LIGHT DISCO TONIGHT Hey kids tonight wear either green, yellow or red as code to the opposite sex. For people who have never been to a traffic light disco before RED means I have a already have a lover and I don't want another. YELLOW means I already have a lover but I do want another, or I'm picky. And GREEN means I game for whatever.

Reconstruction only began in 1776 and was supervised by architect Vicente Acrero. Acrero left the project incomplete and was succeeded by several other architects. As a result the largely baroque –style cathedral was built over a period of 116 years and due to this drawn-out period of construction, the cathedral was originally intended to be a baroque edifice, it contained rococo elements, and was finally completed in the neoclassical style. Its chapels have many paintings and relics from the old cathedral. For just three euro, one can wander round the cathedral unrestricted. This also includes access to the beautiful crypt which has an amazing and both strange echoes. One can also climb the spiralling ramp to the top of the bell tower for amazing panoramas of the city. Umbrella; go see the crypt! Its amazing!

THINGS TO DO IN CADIZ... The Cathedral Cádiz’s most famous landmark is its cathedral. It sits on the site of an older cathedral which was completed in 1260. In 1596, the city was invaded by the English Navy, lead by Sir Charles Howard. After a one month occupation of the city, the Spanish refused to pay a ransom demanded by the English for leaving the city intact and thus they burned much of it before leaving, including the Cathedral.

4 Thursday AUGUST

EL PARASOL • La Cometa will be showing off some of their kite skills tomorrow, Friday, from 8.30 on the way to the beach. Go check it out after dinner!

Sandsation Ivan Grcic (RS), Nikola Grabacic (RS/ UK), Predrag Apostolidis (RS) Yes, this workshop might have been having some problems, but I am positive to say that it will eventually turn out great. All the annoying Sellotape sounds will soon be over as the participants and tutors were busy finalizing their strange looking structure. However, it all makes sense – the organic shapes represent the roots of the trees from Cádiz, while the middle structure is a representation of the tree trunks, which will eventually be taped to the roots themselves. The base of the scaffolding is currently being covered with a black plastic sheet, which should be then filled with sand. Lights will also be added which should make the whole thing glow at night. The whole aim of the workshop is to hold the ultimate beach party, the tutors themselves claiming that “EASA is all about parties!” It will be a sand monster that came from the beach, inspired by the trees of Cádiz, creating a place to chill and party.

Concrete Construction Pekka Ijas (FI), Ville Mellin (FI), Eero Alho (FI) Participants wearing the famous white T-shirt supplied by the tutors seem to decrease day by day, as others were complaining about the nasty smell at EASA HQ. However, they were still all busy finishing the various moulds and preparing all the materials to fill them up. The aim is that they will be ready by tomorrow. Permits and locations for the structures have not been finalized yet but as Chrysi (participant) herself claimed “it was fun anyways”. This workshop will actually be producing 3 different structures, one that looks like a person, the other a tentacle and also a hammock, which will be covered with a cloth before pouring the concrete so as to produce a smooth cloth-like surface. All the work seems to be on track, hoping that the structures will be finalized and transferred on Saturday. Well we`ll just have to wait and see what comes out.
