SEED TO SEAL

We’re proud to offer an extensive line of authentic, essential oil-infused solutions that represent the best of nature—all purity, no compromises— through the standards of our groundbreaking Seed to Seal program. Seed to Seal is our set of standards that ensures that with every targeted supplement, every skin care solution, and every pure essential oil you use, you’re enjoying the benefits of our global resources, industry leadership, and 23 years of innovation. The result? Pristine final products that you know have been created with conscientious sourcing, science, and standards.

These three aspects of production contain our concrete steps for delivering transformative, innovative, and pure products to you. The standards are demanding, but a product is only as good as the process that produced it, and we’re committed to a quality process far beyond all industry expectations to transform your life for the better.

Sourcing Because synthetics, contaminants, cheap fillers, and unethical production practices are not an option for the products in your home, we guide the process of sourcing products from carefully vetted suppliers and test them extensively. If our exhaustive tests show that a product doesn’t meet our standards, we don’t buy it or we reject the batch.

Science We insist on essential oils, products, and ingredients that have passed our stringent, unyielding quality benchmarks. We create our pure, effective formulas with the cleanest and most innovative ingredients available. We also focus on what’s not in the formulas. We’ve developed an expanding list of 20 potentially harmful or harsh additives that may appear in mainstream products but will never be found in ours.

Standards As the leaders of the modern essential oils movement and a close partner with the earth, it’s part of our stewardship to do business responsibly—from sustainably sourcing rare botanicals, to uplifting local communities, to going above and beyond to comply with local environmental rules. The goal? Offering a pure product that you know is part of a greater good. Inexpensive essential oils are often synthetic, adulterated, or unethically sourced, which is why we choose to partner with sources we know produce pure essential oils and ingredients ethically and legally, setting a top-tier standard for sustainability. This unique approach sets us apart. We guide every step of production to ensure that you get pure essential oils and products you won’t find anywhere else.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

Essential oils have enhanced lives for thousands of years, offering a variety of benefits from cosmetic and dietary purposes to spiritual and religious use. Extracted through careful steam distillation, resin tapping, and cold pressing, the purest essential oils are far more powerful than the botanicals from which they come.

• Your students can be transformed by inhaling oils directly or when you diffuse them into the air. Read on to learn about some of our most popular oils and ways to use their aromatic benefits. • Many oils are beneficial when applied directly to the skin or when diluted with a carrier oil. See how your students can enjoy this use of essential oils.

Whether your students are seeking a calming balance in a Hatha Yoga class or sweating it out in Bikram, explore complementary Young Living oils and products that can help them take their practice to the next level.

YOUNG LIVING AND YOUR STUDIO

L av e n de r Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils in the world and one that’s easy to incorporate into yoga practice. It takes 27 square feet of the flowering tops of the Lavandula angustifolia plant to create one 15-ml bottle of Young Living Lavender essential oil. Lavender essential oil can be used in countless ways in your yoga studio. For a treat sure to please students, blend Lavender and distilled water in a small spray bottle and spritz mats before a session to create an environment of floral calm.

Suggested Appl ication • During a Hatha yoga session, create a calm and relaxing environment by adding Lavender and a blend of complementary oils in the Aria diffuser. The Aria diffuser is also audio capable, providing options for soothing sounds or mellow music to bring further peace and calming to your practice.

Lemon V ITALIT Y ™ Bright, fresh, and energizing, Lemon essential oil is cold pressed from the rinds of lemons, giving it the taste and aroma of the freshly picked fruit. Lemon Vitality contains the naturally occurring constituent limonene and can be used as a natural cleaner.

Suggested Appl ication • Refresh a room of students with cool, lemon-infused water. Keep a large, glass water dispenser on hand and infuse 1 drop per 12 ounces of water for a light, refreshing beverage.

Pur ification® From sweaty mats to piles of laundry, yoga studios occasionally have unpleasant odors to tackle. Purification essential oil blend is a natural freshening solution that has numerous other uses. Comprised of Citronella, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree essential oils, it has the naturally occurring compounds neral, cineol, and geranial, all which contribute to its odor-fighting abilities.

Suggested Appl ication • Create a Purification mist that can be used before and after practice. Add 2 ounces of water to an empty, glass spray bottle and then add 12 drops of Purification. Use this mist to freshen the air before practice and to clean your mat after each session. Lightly spray your mat with the Purification spray and then wipe with a soft cloth.

Peppermint The crisp, exhilarating aroma of peppermint can awaken any yoga studio. Menthol, the primary active component in Peppermint, activates the same receptors in nerve endings that are involved in sensing cold, which leads to a cooling sensation upon use. Menthol is extracted from the leaves and flowering tops of the peppermint plant, and it takes nearly a pound of peppermint to make one 15-ml bottle of the essential oil.

Suggested Appl ication • To create an environment of mental alertness for students as they strive for focus, use Peppermint essential oil. Before any yoga practice, place 1–2 drops in the palms and rub them together, cup them over your nose, and then take calm, deep breaths. This can be combined with alternate nostril breathing for additional focus.

Thieves® Young Living’s proprietary combination, including Lemon, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary is popular for its invigorating aroma and its cleaning power. Use Thieves anywhere you need to clean equipment without the smell of harsh chemicals or when you want to provide students with the boost of these powerful essential oils.

Suggested Appl ication • Keep your studio welcome and inviting with the warm, spicy scent of Thieves. The essential oil blend can be diffused to maintain a comforting scent, and the Thieves line of cleaning products can help you with everything from mopping floors to spraying down mats without synthetic scents.

S t r e s s Away™ Create the relaxing calm of a tropical oasis by sharing the tranquil aroma of Stress Away with your students. Composed of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender, this soothing scent will create an environment where students can melt away their worries.

Suggested Appl ication • When students enter Savasana, create further space for meditation by diffusing Stress Away. The calming aromas in this blend will work in synergy with this difficult pose of complete relaxation.

Pa nAway® The soothing, yet stimulating blend of Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, and Peppermint make PanAway the perfect essential oil companion for any yoga studio.

Suggested Appl ication • Power yoga classes require students to use strength they didn’t know they had. After a tough class, the cooling and soothing of Young Living’s PanAway can be the relief tired muscles need.

Aroma Siez™ The herbaceous scents of Basil, Marjoram, Lavender, Peppermint, and Cypress create a blend that is invigorating and soothing when used in massage. Like PanAway, Aroma Siez is particularly effective when used in post-sports massage.

Suggested Appl ication • Follow up a hot yoga class with Aroma Siez; the herby warmth will further invigorate muscles after exertion.

ABOUT YOUNG LIVING

Our communit y of wellness started small in 1993, when D. Gary Young and Mary Young developed their first organic herb farming and distilling operation. At the time, Gary had already discovered the incredible power of essential oils; but because the quality of available oils varied so greatly, he’d been unable to fully harness their potential. After establishing Young Living in 1994, the Youngs developed more farmland in Utah and Idaho and began cultivating lavender, peppermint, melissa, clary sage, and many other botanicals. Fueled by a growing demand for top-quality essential oils, Young Living designed and built the largest, most technologically advanced essential oil distillery in North America. Now our farms and community span the globe. Because of our proven commitment to provide nature’s best, millions trust us to deliver superior essential oils. Young Living is proud to be one of the largest female-owned and operated companies in Utah. Mary Young became the CEO in 2015, with over 20 years of experience as a corporate executive and a successful career as a direct-sales marketer before joining the company. Mary has helped lead the company to reach incredible success, including hitting $1 billion in sales and 3 million members in 2015. Her hands-on leadership has allowed her husband, the company’s founder and Chairman of the Board, D. Gary Young, to step back from some of his executive duties to focus on his passions: developing farms, focusing time and energy on philanthropic and civic initiatives, global peace, world health, and community giving. Their collaborative efforts have made Young Living what it is today, a global leader in essential oils and wellness solutions.

We believe that a product is only as good as the process that created it. ®

is our commitment to crafting pristine products without compromise.
