In this guide, we’ll take you through some best practices for preparing and hosting your first meeting, building a relationship, and more. As you add these habits to your business-building skillset, you’ll find they’ll not only help you develop relationships with business owners but also with all prospective Young Living customers and members!



PREPARE YOURSELF Being personally prepared allows to you create a positive space where opportunity can grow.

CONSIDER THE UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL: Seek to understand your contacts and their customers, so you can offer helpful ways to improve the business experience.


D R E S S P R O F E S S I O N A L LY: Match the culture of the business or community you’re hoping to build a relationship with.

LEARN THE LINGO: Research the industry and culture of the business, so you can have an engaging and productive conversation.


KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER

Keep in mind that you can meet in person, set up a conference call, or host a video conference via a service such as Skype.

S TAY C A L M A N D C O N F I D E N T, E V E N DURING QUESTIONS: Don’t get nervous if you can’t answer a question right away. Kindly promise you’ll do some research and follow up. When you find an answer, it will be another opportunity to contact him or her and will show that you’re dependable!

R E A D A N D U N D E R S TA N D YO U N G LIVING’S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Becoming familiar with things like sales tax exemption policies, how to request a name change, and sister accounts will help you better serve your customer.
