SPICE UP YOUR YL CLASSES! Take your next Young Living class up a few notches with these tips from Royal Crown Diamond Melissa Koehler.

FOUNDER’S MESSAGE

THIS IS TRULY a beautiful time of the year! Celebrating time with your family, enjoying a bountiful fall harvest, and appreciating the blessings we have in our lives are just a few highlights of this season. Fall offers so many opportunities for reflection and gratitude. When Mary and I started this journey over 20 years ago, we were determined to create the highest quality products possible. We immersed ourselves in research by studying and experimenting with different planting, cultivating, and harvesting methods in operation around the globe. I felt a passion within me grow that seemed bigger than life itself. The harvest was very satisfying, especially as so many of you came to be part of the Seed to Seal process. In spite of the many challenges and hard work, it was deeply rewarding. I know that many of you put a lot of time and energy into cultivating various aspects of your personal lives. As you think about your Young Living journey, ask yourself, “Do I put the necessary effort and energy into my business to enjoy a bountiful harvest?” One of my deepest beliefs is that you deserve to live an abundant life in which you are happy and healthy. Young Living provides the foundation to build upon. You are the farmer in your life, and with hard work and courage, you can reap all of the wonderful things you’ve sown. I’ve realized that fear—more than anything else—stops people from achieving the success for which they’re so hungry. As you work on creating a bountiful harvest in your life, I challenge you to eliminate fear the moment it enters your mind. Don’t listen! Replace the doubt with positive thoughts. Your brightest dreams can come true if you have the courage to go for them. So much of our success at Young Living is because of the efforts of our loyal members who are determined to build their dreams and create a beautiful future. We love and appreciate you. Your stories inspire all of us— the corporate team—Young Living members all over the world—to work harder and live the Young Living lifestyle.

This time of year can offer some fun ideas to make your next class both memorable and fun! Try something new like a fall-themed Young Living class. FALL HOLIDAYS CAN offer a fun opportunity to plan and host an amazing Young Living class! When it comes to planning and executing a fabulous class, Royal Crown Diamond Melissa Koehler is a pro. One of Melissa’s most helpful sharing techniques has been hosting Young Living classes. She recalls planning a favorite class with one of her best friends. “We planned a Fall-themed Bunco party a few years ago,” she said. “Everything was fall-themed and colored. It was so fun and was a great way of sharing Young Living!” Check out the tips below to follow Melissa’s tried-and-true strategies for making your fallthemed Young Living class a success!

Melissa’s Tips:

1. Pick your theme and stick to it! 2. Search your favorite decorating sites for some quick inspiration. Remember that you don’t have to follow exactly what you see; you may simply want to use the images as inspiration. 3. Make a list of items you need for your event and delegate if possible.

4. When shopping for decorations, ask yourself if you will be able to use them at a later date. For example, mason jars make great vases and containers during your class, and they’re fun drinking glasses long after the party. 5. Think outside of the box when you’re deciding on decorations. What colors, prints, symbols, and textures go with your theme? 6. Be cohesive with your theme and content of your class. Incorporate seasonally appropriate products like our Thieves™ product line and essential oils like Cinnamon Bark, Tangerine, Light the Fire™, and Northern Lights Black Spruce™. By talking about your favorite fall Young Living products, you are making the theme relevant and relatable to the season. 7. Give your guests at least two weeks’ notice of your class—even more if you want them to dress up or participate in another way. Whether your preference for invitations is mailing your invites or sending electronic invitations through email or Facebook, you may want to ask your guests to RSVP, so you can plan accordingly.

We want to help you have productive conversations that will ease any nervousness! Using our dietary supplements as part of a wellness regimen is important to any Young Living member, and as with any other supplement or wellness product, we recommend the common sense approach of consulting with your licensed health care provider prior to use. Everyone reacts to and uses our products a little differently, so it’s essential to openly discuss the personal wellness choices you want to make. As you are visiting with your provider, go in with a plan to help you navigate a positive and productive conversation. Remember—both you and your provider want you to live with wellness and vitality, so strive to work as a team!

hand-in-hand YOUNG LIVING FOUNDATION Walking to maximize impact instead of the current three and cultivating 50 acres of land instead of the current 10 to feed the children.

Sole Hope

Nikki Davis and Young Living members visit Uganda to deliver mosquito nets to the village of Wakisi. OUR COMPASSIONATE AND generous members have made the remarkable happen. On a recent trip to Uganda, Young Living Director of Global Philanthropy Nikki Davis put into action the funds that our members contributed during recent Young Living events. Her goal was ambitious: solidify, define, and maximize short-term and long-term plans for the Young Living Foundation’s partnerships with African Hearts Community Organization (AfriHCO), Sole Hope, and Healing Faith Uganda. Each of these philanthropic organizations is currently making tremendous impacts in the communities they serve; and now, with the support and help of the Young Living Foundation, they will be able to increase their impact.

AfriHCO

As a result of Nikki’s visit, the partnership with AfriHCO has strategized to double its efforts through building an additional nursery school that would serve approximately 200 children. This will ultimately create a way to reach its goal of providing meals, education, and medical assistance to children in need seven days a week

With the financial backing of the Young Living Foundation, Sole Hope will be breaking ground on a new Outreach House where the organization will provide food, shelter, medical care, and education to victims of a destructive foot parasite who have been shunned from their communities.

Healing Faith Uganda

Working with the nonprofit Healing Faith Uganda, the foundation used funds donated by Young Living members to purchase the entire inventory of mosquito nets and backorder thousands more from local suppliers, providing them to homes in a local village. “Because of our member donations,” Nikki said, “every mud hut throughout the village of Wakisi is now protected! I want to thank everyone who has been so generous!” Nikki says she reflects often on the excitement, impact, and love she felt during her trip to Uganda, working with these excellent philanthropic organizations to use funds donated by Young Living members to make a big difference. Thanks to our selfless members who believe in service and acting with compassion, the Young Living Foundation is making an impact throughout the world’s communities. For more stories and opportunities to get involved, visit the Young Living Foundation Facebook page and look forward to a new and improved Young Living Foundation website, coming soon!

DRAFT HORSE SHOW & FALL FESTIVAL Three days of family fun

Families and friends from all over enjoyed celebrating the new fall season. THE 2015 DRAFT Horse Show & Fall Festival at our Young Living Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah, welcomed thousands of families and friends for a three-day event from September 18–20. The festival was jam-packed with activities, unique events, and fun for all-ages. Community members and Young Living members, including 600 new silvers, from around the world enjoyed pony and wagon rides, bounce houses, jousting, a Western shootout, a rock climbing wall, a mechanical

bull, a horse training exhibition, the Lane Frost bull riding challenge, draft horse events, and an exclusive performance by Kenny Rogers. At the draft horse events, crowds cheered as 12 six-horse hitches of Clydesdales, Shires, Belgians, and Percherons enthralled the audience with their beauty and skills as they trotted around the fabulous, new arena that was packed with 3,000 spectators. Held all three days, these events created buzz throughout the farm for both draft horse enthusiasts and those new to the sport. The first draft horse show on the Young Living farm was a resounding success! The performance by country legend Kenny Rogers left a lasting impression on attendees and was one of the most exciting parts of the festival. Both new and seasoned fans joined in the music as Kenny Rogers performed old classics and new favorites. We had a blast celebrating the changing seasons with our family and friends! Stay updated with all of our Young Living events by visiting YoungLiving.com.

SEED TO SEAL® SUCCESS

Australian Tea Tree Association Extends Thanks to Young Living

YOUNG LIVING RECENTLY received a letter from the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association congratulating us on providing pure Tea Tree essential oil to our customers! The letter explains that Young Living’s Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) essential oil was analyzed at Southern Cross University using the Chiral Purity Test. “We are delighted to note that the product closely conformed to the expected ratios giving a clear indication that it is indeed pure Tea Tree essential oil steam distilled from Melaleuca alternifolia. This is a great outcome, congratulations and thank you for supplying pure Tea Tree essential oil to your valued customers,” the letter concludes. The Australian Tea Tree Industry Association is an organization formed to purchase random samples of Tea Tree essential oil from around the world and test for purity. A high incidence of Melaleuca alternifolia adulteration has caused this group to purchase and test random samples of supposedly pure Tea Tree essential oil. A test has been developed to measure the purity of Tea Tree essential oil. In 2015 a study of this method was published in the Journal of Chromatography A, which described the testing procedure. The Australian Tea Tree Industry reports that “50% of 43 commercial samples tested failed to comply with the proposed chiral ratios. Further, of 15 commercially sourced samples in the European Union, 73% of these showed significant differences in chiral abundances while Tea Tree essential oil from both North America and Asia also displayed similar results where [approximately] 50% of the tested samples did not match the expected results.” The letter from the Australian Tea Tree Industry stated that the organization has “yet to see a sample from China that matches the expected chiral ratios for 100% pure Tea Tree essential oil.” Young Living scientists have also used chiral testing as part of our Seed to Seal process. In 2012, they published a study on the chiral differences of Boswellia sacra and Boswellia carterii in the Journal of Chromatography A. Young Living’s Seed to Seal™ process continues to prove the purity of our essential oils!

Fun at SoulScape

SCENTSATIONAL SATURDAY

Perspectives of our happy leaders who participated in the event:

It was a fun event, a new experience sharing Oils for yoga and meditation enthusiasts. An interesting concept!” “

~ Laila

It was fun meeting participants who are really serious about their health and are seeking a natural approach for better wellness. Yoga and oils are a perfect combination!” ~ Kavitha “It’s an insightful experience providing yoga practitioners a first-hand experience using the Oils. We received overwhelming response for the one day event. Such collaboration with other wellness and sporting events should continue in order to bring Young Living Essential oils to more homes.” ~ Inriani Putri “

“OUR TEAM HAD a truly blessed opportunity sharing Young Living at SoulScape - an energetic lifestyle event combining the elements of yoga, meditation, music and dance! It was held on the 12th of September. Mother Nature was also on our side; the haze cleared and it was a beautiful Saturday over at Tanjong Beach, Sentosa. Response from the participants was much better than expected. It was overwhelming that we could hardly sit, but we didn’t mind that of course! They appreciated our Young Living Oils and some dropped by repeatedly commenting that they could feel the positive aura of the Essential Oils. Some stopped by in-between their yoga sessions to enjoy the calming aroma from our diffuser.

All in all, it was a scentsational experience interacting with the lovely international crowd that were curious to learn how our Essential Oils can support them in their overall wellness. We really had fun sharing with them about our products. Our team was so happy to have the opportunity to bring Young Living to SoulScape. We’d like to thank Young Living Singapore for their awesome support! Special thanks to Chrystal, Cierra, Gabriel and Nicholas for their trust and patience! We will keep sharing our passion for the Oils, plant positivity and transform lives, one household at a time.” - Ida Neti, Platinum Leader

SUPPORTING COVENANT FAMILY SERVICE CENTRE’S EFFORTS for its Lone Mothers’ Support Group

Covenant Family Service Centre embarked on a seven-week Lone Mothers’ Support Group in August, to provide a space for lone mothers to interact and journey together. Activities and discussions were facilitated around topics such as financial management, parenting, coping with transitions and self-care, which were issues that resonated with the group.

It was a relaxing and rejuvenating session for the mothers with massages using Young Living oils.

As part of the session on caring for the self, an evening of relaxation and rejuvenation was organized with the support and generosity of Young Living Essential Oils. Two volunteers, Phyllis Chua-Chan and Ranna Seah, spent two hours on a Wednesday evening attending to these lone mothers, massaging them with an array of Young Living essential oils. They even brought along diffusers that helped to create a soothing atmosphere for everyone. The mothers were delighted by the experience, reflecting that they felt pampered and wished for more of such opportunities to relax in their hectic schedules. - Phyllis Chan, Silver Leader
