EXOTIC ADVENTURES, CELEBRATIONS of a festive and colorful culture, experiencing the Seed to Seal® process, and forever changing lives: that’s what you get when you participate in the Young Living Master Leader Retreat.
In late November, Young Living leaders and high-achieving members from around the world lived an unforgettable week in Ecuador. This year’s retreat featured a personal tour of the local Young Living farm with Young Living Founder and CEO D. Gary Young. Attendees were treated to a stepby-step look into how many of our precious botanicals— such as Eucalyptus Blue, Lemongrass, and Palo Santo—are grown and then distilled into Young Living’s pure, powerful essential oils. “Attending the Master Leader Retreat was so enlightening, encouraging, and inspiring,” said Platinum Karen Douglas. “Being able to participate in the action at the farm by packing down the Eucalyptus Blue in one distiller and then placing Oregano into another distiller was so great!” Capping off their Ecuadorian adventure, members spent a truly memorable day at the Young Living Academy. On their exclusive tour, members met with the students in their classrooms, were treated to special student presentations, and discussed with Gary the future of the school and its students. high school. Karen added, “Young Living is so much more than just oils. Being able to visit the academy and share such seemingly small gifts—pencils, pens, and just warm smiles— the children received these gifts with such joy. These children are so inspiring!” “The entire week was such a blast—the farm, the ATVs and Jet Skis, the trip to the beach were all great,” expressed Gold Rob Ridpath, who attended with his wife Alina. “But by far, the best part was our time at the academy meeting the children and really connecting with what Young Living is all about: making a difference in the lives of people everywhere.” Throughout the week, members enjoyed the beach, a relaxing spa day highlighted by Raindrop Technique® treatments, four-wheeling, jet skiing, and local excursions to markets and restaurants in the area. Attendees bonded with one another, enjoyed personal growth, and took in the sights and sounds of beautiful Ecuador. “We left Ecuador feeling very proud of our company, its leaders, its mission, and our place in it all,” said Rob. “It was a life-changing week, for sure!”

EACH NEW YEAR brings a great sense of excitement and possibilities. Our minds are fixed on the things we can do, and our souls are filled with determination to accomplish what was once thought impossible. I love this attitude! Looking up and looking forward is really a tremendous way to live. When you walk, are you staring down at the ground, afraid to make eye contact with a passerby? During quiet times, do you beat yourself up over past mistakes? If you do, PLEASE STOP NOW. Look up and look forward! How high can you climb when you’re looking down? Who can you help when you’re looking back? You are far more influential and can do so much more good when you look up and look forward. This is the season held aside for ambitious goal setting. Dream big! Don’t let yourself or others tell you that something is impossible or that you can’t change. Don’t believe them. They are not speaking truth to you. These are people who want to drag you down into their box of negative influence. Don’t let them. Break out of that box and propel yourself into the life you want to live—a life without limits. The pathway to reaching goals can be painfully difficult at times; don’t let this stop you from setting and then pursuing very big goals. Instead, surround yourself with positive, happy people who believe in you and who will inspire you to keep going when times get tough. Remember, greatness requires sacrifice and determination. Make 2014 your year to realize your success and to see your dreams come true. Make it great by looking up and looking forward.

Building A Future Donations made during the Master Leader Retreat lead to groundbreaking of new YL high school. By Don Clair

“SUCCESS IS MEASURED by obstacles overcome,” wrote Booker T. Washington; and by that thought alone, the D. Gary Young Foundation has had great success! In November, Young Living members visited the Young Living Academy in Ecuador during the Master Leader Retreat. This group of leaders listened to the children tell them how the school has changed their community and families and how it has given each student hope for the future. Even more, the children explained how much they need a high school. During the visit, a “cornerstone” was formed, and each leader contributed to a dream. When the day’s activity was completed, $36,000 was collected—enough funds to break ground for the new high school! Thank you to each of these wonderful leaders for embracing their ability to make a difference in the world. Throughout this great day, the leaders were entertained by the students and spent time with the children whom they had sponsored. It was a day of magic and wonder as each person was moved in a very special way. The kindness in the eyes of every child and the warmth of their desire to learn touched everyone. One member told me that saying goodbye to the child he sponsors was the most difficult thing he had ever done. Wolfberry Bites O’ Heaven By Jan Zerr, Young Living Platinum A heavenly alternative to traditional treats, these delicious bites provide a daylong energy boost.
Ingredients:
1 cup cacao nibs 1 cup YL Ningxia wolfberries 1 cup hemp seeds 3/4 cup coconut butter 2 tablespoons YL Blue Agave Dash of sea salt Dash of vanilla extract or 1 vanilla bean 1. Place all ingredients in a food processor except for the cacao nibs and hemp seeds. Process until completely broken down into small pieces. 2. Add the cacao nibs and hemp seeds and process. The cacao nibs should break down to about half their size. The hemp seeds should be visible. 3. Form into bite-sized balls with a small ice cream scoop and place on a baking sheet and refrigerate until firm.

Young Living’s World News SOUTH EAST ASIA
We would like to thank all of those who attended the Malaysia Founders Meeting in December and for making the event a wonderful success! Leaders and members from Malaysia and other South East Asian nations; special guest speakers Connie McDanel, Jared Turner, and Matt French; and all guests from around the world were part of a crucial step toward Young Living’s global expansion and fulfilling Gary Young’s dream of bringing Young Living into every home. The next big event is the South East Asia Wellness Tour with special guest speaker Dr. Olivier Wenker, who will be talking about wellness with essential oils. This tour will coincide with the launch of NingXia Nitro™ and Slique™ Bars in late January.
JAPAN
The new year will kick off with Dr. Minke’s seven-city tour, held January 13–19. Dr. Minke will give presentations centered on family first aid with essential oils
and a wellness approach to allergies. He will also share his story about surviving bone cancer while in college and later, lymphoma. One of his most important messages will focus on how daily dietary habits can make a difference for a healthier and longer life. During the tour, the new AromaBright™ Toothpaste will be available for presale prior to the official launch in February. In January, the newly reformulated Believe™ essential oil blend will arrive in Japan. Japanese members are anxiously looking forward to what is coming up next for Young Living!
EUROPE
The European market is looking forward to an exciting New Year tour covering 15 cities in six European countries. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about new product offerings, highly anticipated business tools, and informative presentations led by Marc Schreuder, Young Living’s vice president of research and formulations; the European corporate team; and local leaders!

Kai’s Journey in Young Living The picture on the top left was taken at the Young Living Salt Lake City International Convention in 2012. I will never forget “Rolling with Robert” at the Convention Hall. It started one day while walking back to the hotel via the usual route down a gentle slope. I remarked to Sheena: “I must roll down this slope one day! Just because.” Sheena: “OK!” Next day, we were walking back from the Convention Hall as usual and stopped right in our tracks seeing a boy rolling UP the slope! Sheena jabbed me in the elbow and said: “Go do it!” Me: “WAHHAHA. OK.YES” I asked the boy: “Hi...Is this fun? Can I join you?” Robert (by then we know his name): “Yes!” Kicked off my shoes and down I went. In fact we went down and UP the slope to the amusement of so many! I am reminded while laughing that evening... - that it is ALWAYS OK to have fun - just jump in and do it - life is way too short to say no

...and that is a picture and summary of my God-favored and richly blessed journey in Young Living. It started because of a “YES” to Life’s Calling, a “ YES” to friends growing together, a “YES” to a dream bigger than I can imagine. And in the end, this journey really has been the sweetest because my family is in the center of it and so are the friends I love dearly. And if there is one thing I pray this can shine a light for, is that YOU find courage to grow in this journey too!

Malaysia Founders Meeting Message from the General Manager Welcome to 2014! I am so excited about this coming year! 2013 was truly a spectacular year, with more people enjoying, and sharing the benefits of Young Living essential oils than ever before. As I look back over this past year, I recognize that there have been many challenges that we have all faced. But growth always comes at a price. And the growth this past year has been staggering! But this next year will be even better! 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of Young Living, and of Gary Young’s dream of sharing the power of essential oils with everyone on earth. This year’s convention is appropriately titled “Dream” for that reason. However, convention will not just be a celebration of Gary’s dream, but a chance for all of us to put into motion our own dreams of wellness, purpose and abundance. As you go through your calendars for the next year, make it a goal to attend convention in June. You won’t want to miss this one!
After much excitement and preparation, Young Living South East Asia and the Malaysian Leaders finally made the Founders meeting happen on the 14th December 2013 at G Hotel, 168A Persiaran Gurney, Penang which paves the way to this year’s Malaysia Grand Opening. It was both an emotional and enriching experience as members got to listen to our very first Malaysian Founding Leaders share their experiences. Crown Diamond, Connie McDanel also shared a lot of practical information in her Healing Homes workshop. Global HQ Executives Jared Turner and Matt French gave the members first hand updates from Global and our GM for Young Living SEA shared valuable information on the upcoming Malaysia Grand Opening. Attendees received the Malaysia Founders Pin and will receive a bottle of 5ml Rose when they bring the pin to the Grand Opening. What a treat! . The great outcome of this event definitely have us looking forward to a more exciting year ahead for Malaysia!

As most of the office staff know, I have been diffusing Abundance Oil Blend very liberally in my office recently. With the New Year starting I want to ensure abundance in all areas of my life, and I cannot think of a better way to do that than to diffuse such a great blend! To be honest, I go through a LOT of Abundance this time of year as I make my goals, and set targets for the year to come. Having seen how it has influenced my life in the past, I thoroughly believe that this amazing oil blend can help me realize my goals and resolutions for the coming year.

I know, New Year’s resolutions are often joked about as they are rarely ever kept. This year, instead of making vast resolutions that you don’t believe in, make one goal of something you would like to accomplish. It can be big or small, as long as it is something you truly believe in. From there, create smaller successive targets that will lead to this goal. As each of these benchmarks is accomplished, don’t forget to reward yourself. This tends to be much more effective than trying to set big life-altering resolutions that are never met.

So grab some Abundance, or another of your favourite oil blends and let’s look forward to another amazing year! Will there be more challenges? Likely. However, in a way I welcome them. As I mentioned, challenges mean growth. We, like steel, are only made stronger after passing through the refiner’s fire. But when diffusing the oils I find greater peace and clarity, and no challenge becomes too great to obscure my dreams.
