NEW S OF T H E WORL D L EA DER IN ESS ENTIAL OI L S

A MESSAGE FROM MARY Hello, My Friends, May was truly historic. Thousands of people watched on the internet, along with all those attending, as Jacob, Josef, and I, with the executive staff, cut the ribbon for the new Young Living Global Headquarters, which has been under construction for the past two years. Twenty-five years ago, Gary started talking about the new building he was designing, but every year he said we needed the money for the farms. However, about five years ago, I could tell he was getting closer. Kevin Scholz, the architect, understood Gary’s vision and took Gary’s design that had been evolving for so many years and created this absolutely magnificent building—an architectural work of art. The idea of moving was overwhelming to many of us, but it was also a great opportunity to sort of “clean house.” I love throwing out useless stuff, and as I went through papers that had been in drawers for years, I was thrilled to make some discoveries of a historical nature, which will make everyone chuckle when they see them in the Young Living museum at this beautiful new building. The International Grand Convention is going to be dynamite, with a lot of surprises. New products and the launch of old products in a most unusual way are “over the top,” and we in the office are very excited—and that’s all I’m going to say about that. Come join in the celebration of Young Living’s 25 years as the world leader in essential oils. See you there,

YOUNG LIVING PROVIDES GRANT FOR NEW TRANSPORTATION FOR PARTNER FARM New transportation is more efficient and comfortable

The Finca Victoria Farm in Mexico prides itself on its commitment to its employees and the environment. That’s why last year, the farm applied to Young Living’s partner farm grant program to purchase a new bus to help its employees get to work at the farm’s remote location. Finca Victoria has been providing transportation for its employees for almost 20 years, but the bus wasn’t keeping up in terms of efficiency, comfort, and reliability. While Finca Victoria employees can take a public bus or drive themselves, these options create an additional financial burden for employees. Nearly 68 percent of employees used the old company bus to get to and from work, which meant that breakdowns were a particularly complicated problem for day-to-day operations. Additionally, the lack of air conditioning wasn’t ideal for traveling in Mexico’s climate. On average the bus traveled 360 kilometers (223 miles) every working day, so boosting gas mileage and emissions efficiency was vitally important. With a new bus, the Finca Victoria Farm could make a real difference for its employees and the planet.

YOUNG LIVING STAFF SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES Embracing the spirit of service on Earth Day

“Our employees sincerely desire to create positive impact in their local communities.” —Jared Turner, President and COO

Young Living saw the impact a new bus would make for the farm and the clear connection to our 5×5 Pledge. By providing grant money, we could help the Finca Victoria Farm buy a much better bus. Finca Victoria’s new bus has: • Better gas mileage • Lower carbon emissions • Improved reliability • Eight additional seats • Improved suspension Dali Rubi Garza Rodriguez, an employee at the farm, said: “It is an advantage to have this transportation because we can arrive here in a timely way. It is also a great help in the economic sense…otherwise, we’d need to pay more to arrive here because it’s a little far from our homes. It’s more comfortable, it has air conditioning, it’s more spacious, and it’s safer.” Our commitment to making the planet a better place is something we take seriously, whether we’re creating an eco-friendly, employee-friendly Global Headquarters or providing efficient and comfortable transportation for a partner farm. As often noted by Young Living Founder D. Gary Young, we do things “for a purpose, not a profit.”

Young Living takes its dedication to community and social responsibility seriously, which is why on Earth Day, April 22, approximately 2,000 Young Living employees headed out into their communities to give back on the first annual Employee Service Day. “Young Living employees take their stewardship of the earth very seriously,” explained Young Living President and Chief Operating Officer Jared Turner. “Our new Employee Service Day is the result of ideas cultivated by our corporate team, supported by our members, and spearheaded by Human Resources and The D. Gary Young, Young Living Foundation.” Employees had the opportunity to choose from over 30 service projects, organized through close collaboration with local non-profit organizations. From cleaning up trash from public parks, trails, and highways to pulling weeds and planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, Young Living staff were eager to spend the day outside making a difference. “I am so grateful to work for a company that cares about the environment and our local communities,” said Corynn Benoit, Young Living’s manager of corporate and community relations. “Employee Service Day was an incredible opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work and gives true meaning to Young Living’s 5×5 Pledge.” One group of employees, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and the city of Lehi, Utah, planted 40 trees in North Lake Park, which will create a lush canopy that park users can enjoy for years to come. YOUNG LIVING WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE AND GLOBAL LEADERSHIP

Continued from page 1 who served in the many canyons surrounding the Salt Lake valley pulled thousands of pounds of myrtle spurge, a noxious and invasive weed, while others collected hundreds of pounds of trash from parks, neighborhoods, and adopted highways. Young Living employees weren’t the only ones excited about the opportunity to serve, as Ann Shumway from Camp Jeremiah Johnson explained. “I’ve never seen a group work so hard and get so much accomplished. We were able to complete projects that have needed to be done for years. I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful we are for the service!” Employee Service Day is just one of the many steps Young Living is taking to be stewards of the earth and create lasting change for communities and families across the globe. “Mastrante is one lesser-known essential oil I think everyone should try. I love the smell. I diffuse it when I need to relax and plan to try it topically soon!” —Nicole H. “I recently discovered my new favorite oil, Dorado Azul™. I love diffusing it or diluting it with V-6™ and massaging it on my son’s chest and back.” —Amanda W. “A drop or two of Marjoram Vitality™ is my new go-to for soups with an ingredients list that includes lots of vegetables. It also adds a nice flavor to pinto, white, and kidney bean dishes, and I often use it with or in place of oregano.” —Debra D. “As much as I am fond of the blends, Rosemary is a favorite of mine. It’s super versatile with a refreshing aroma. I like to apply it to my neck and lower back when traveling or sitting for an extended period. Rosemary essential oil also makes a thoughtful gift for friends and family.” —Heike A. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
