2019 INTERNATIONAL GRAND CONVENTION EDITION
A MESSAGE FROM MARY Hello, My Friends, We are all still amazed with the memories of our cruise to Alaska. It was wonderful to share the experience with so many who had never seen the ruggedness of the Alaskan wilderness or even been on a cruise before. We had a fun time meeting new members of our Young Living family and reconnecting with old friends and those in our individual organizations. But, of course, our greatest event was our 25th-anniversary International Grand Convention: 25 Years Young. The thrill of our growth and the special opportunity to spend time with all of you in attendance is hard for me to grasp. I was excited to open the convention with our event-exclusive blend, 25 Years Young™, which combines the essences of what Gary created to maintain physical and emotional youthfulness. For many months I planned my presentation to discuss the beginning of Young Living through Gary’s eyes as a young man looking for modalities that would help him heal. I wanted everyone to see how we evolved out of his desperate desire to walk again and be free of pain. Our members—old and new alike—received new insight into the birth and heart of who we are. On the cruise I shared some discoveries I made while reviewing one of Gary’s early presentations in which he went into great detail about the body’s need for amino acids and minerals. There are nine amino acids that must be converted from the food we eat. But how do we get them when our food is so deficient? FOUNDATION SUCCESS AT THE INTERNATIONAL GRAND CONVENTION Recapping our most successful convention yet The 2019 International Grand Convention was certainly one for the books, as Young Living celebrated its 25th anniversary and The D. Gary Young, Young Living Foundation celebrated 10 years of empowering individuals in need. Following in the 2018 convention’s footsteps was no easy feat, but your contributions this year will allow us to empower more lives than ever before. Members put the fun in fundraising, supporting the Young Living Foundation by participating in the various Foundation activities offered at the convention, including the annual Run for a Cause. Approximately 4,000 members sacrificed sleeping in on Saturday to join us for a superhero-
themed 5K and 5K relay race. Runners daring enough to dress to the theme added an element of surprise to the typical downtown landscape of Salt Lake City. The six incredible vehicles in this year’s Ride for a Reason lineup brought in record-breaking donations. Kathy and Chip Kouwe took home one of the most special vehicles Ride for a Reason has ever seen: D. Gary Young’s personal Dodge Ram 3500 as well as a fully customized Harley Sportster. The beautiful Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special donated by Ride for a Reason founders Scott and Brenda Schuler was won by Randy and Robyn Murrah. The adorable custom-wrapped Mini Cooper was awarded to

RELIVE THE EXCITEMENT OF CONVENTION A week to remember!
Thanks to you and your vibrant enthusiasm, the 2019 International Grand Convention was a huge success! Over 45,000 of Young Living members, employees, and leaders came together in Salt Lake City, Utah, and spent four days joining together in our love for essential oils. Through a whirlwind of new products, insightful keynotes, and networking, we had a complete blast! What else happened July 1720? We learned from powerhouses like John C. Maxwell and Young Living Co-Founder and CEO Mary Young. We visited the Young
Darren and Sera Johnson, while Joy Trunk won the oh-so-sassy Savvy Minerals scooter. Finally, Melissa Stoltzfus walked away with a decked out Young Living business on wheels, the 2019 Honda Odyssey. By a narrow margin, members voted for Young Living Foundation Executive Director Greg Larsen to buzz his head and donate his locks to an organization that fashions wigs for children in need. A total of $115,000 was raised through Cut It or Keep It, and funds will support Wigs for Kids, the Barefoot Servant
Living Lavender Farm and Distillery in Mona and explored the new Global Headquarters in Lehi. We ran a 5K for The D. Gary Young, Young Living Foundation, tailgated together at RiceEccles Stadium, and partied the night away at the closing concert. This year’s convention even reached a new level of record-making! A Savvy Minerals®kissed banner was placed at the Salt Palace Convention Center, giving each attendee the opportunity to join us as we broke the Guinness World Records® title for the most contributions to a lipstick mural. Our greatest convention yet and setting world records was only the start for Young Living in July. In Ecuador, Young Living’s Nova Vita Spa opened to the public. This spa offers relaxation beyond your most mellow dreams and offers dozens of ways to rejuvenate. WE’RE ONE FARM CLOSER TO OUR 5×5 PLEDGE GOAL YL announces partnership with the Ningxia Wolfberry Farm and Distillery at the IGC During the International Grand Convention, Young Living welcomed another partner farm to the family: the Ningxia Wolfberry Farm and Distillery in Ningxia, China. The farm has had a longstanding relationship with YL and Young Living Founder D. Gary Young, and we’re delighted to make the partnership official! The farm produces the wolfberries, wolfberry puree, and wolfberry seed oil important in YL’s popular NingXia Red® line and other products. Wolfberries, or goji berries, are native to Asia and are considered a nutrient-dense food. When Gary encountered this superfruit over 23 years ago, he knew he had to share it with the wider world.
By combining Ningxia wolfberries, superfruit extracts, and essential oils, Gary created YL’s proprietary NingXia Red. This delicious beverage has made its way into homes of members across the globe and has expanded into an entire line of NingXia Red products. Located in Ecuador’s Pastaza Province, this 120-acre farm will provide harvests of ocotea starting as early as 2023. With the Mera Ocotea Farm, we wanted to go beyond our 5×5 Pledge goal to add at least five farms to our family every year. Our new farm is another opportunity to expand Young Living’s commitment to the planet. At Mera Ocotea, we’ll plant 5,000 ocotea trees that will help accelerate oxygen production—and that’s just the start of this farm’s positive impact.
For some, it happens the minute they first catch a hint of Peppermint or Lavender. For others, it’s hearing members share their passion for our products. No matter the moment, people are obsessed with essential oils—and we’re totally okay with that!
Young Living uses non-GMO seeds, meaning the seeds are cultivated through natural pollination. The farm will rely mainly on rainwater, since the Pastaza Province receives rain year-round, with rainfall sometimes lasting all day! June saw members and Young Living employees set sail from Seattle to cruise the high seas of Alaska and Canada. Our YL sailors got a closeup view of the Dawes Glacier, checked out Alaska’s Inside Passage, and disembarked to wander the streets of charming fishing villages and hike in the Alaskan wild. Days on board were spent attending workshops, eating delicious meals provided by Royal Caribbean, and spending time with friends and family. Attendees even got together for a karaoke night. The International Grand Convention may be the biggest Young Living party of the year, but it’s also the event for education about all things Young Living! This year’s convention delivered indispensable information and resources for building a Young Living business and living a Young Living lifestyle to the fullest. For many, the education highlights of the convention are the keynote presentations. This year we were proud to host world-renowned author, coach, and speaker John C. Maxwell. Drawing from a lifetime of leadership and mentoring, he shared extraordinary insights about the important relationship between service and leadership. Attendees also heard from Co-Founder and CEO Mary Young, who shared her experiences and reflected on Young Living’s extraordinary progress over the last 25 years. Attendees also received exclusive education from 18 workshops, spanning topics like reaching millennials, storytelling, building a business internationally, and getting to know new products and old favorites. This year we wanted to make sure that nobody missed a moment of this essential education, so we brought the workshops to the attendees! Members got comfortable in one spot as we rotated the workshops, helping them dodge hallway traffic jams and scheduling snafus. While we’re thrilled to bring so much education to convention attendees, we want to make valuable information available to every member! For the marinated feta: 7 ounces sheep’s milk feta, cut into 12-16 cubes ½ clove of garlic, finely grated ½ teaspoon dried oregano

strips of lemon peel teaspoon freshly ground black pepper drop Oregano Vitality™ essential oil drop Lemon Vitality™ essential oil cup extra-virgin olive oil (or more to cover)
For the skewers: Small wooden appetizer skewers 12-16 pieces of Persian cucumbers, thinly sliced lengthwise or cut into cubes 12-16 pieces of cherry tomatoes, whole or cut into halves or quarters 12-16 Kalamata olives, pitted Lemon wedges for serving
DIRECTIONS
Serves 6-8
Make the marinated feta: Place feta squares in a single layer in a small, shallow, resealable container. Top cubes with garlic, dried oregano, lemon peel, black pepper, Vitality oils, and enough olive oil to cover. Cover with a lid; refrigerate and marinate overnight. Make the skewers: Assemble by threading the olives, cucumber ribbons (or cubes), cherry tomatoes, and marinated feta cubes onto the skewers. Drizzle skewers with a few spoonfuls of leftover marinade oil and serve with lemon wedges on the side. PAG E 4
