On a bright summer morning, Sunny set out to explore the city. Over the wall he hopped and what did he find?

A city of sounds!!

“Hello, city.”

Listen!

What other sounds did he hear?

The sounds of his friends — Lickity skip, skipped Doe. Hop hop hop, hopped Dee.

Clickity clock clattered Mellow’s marbles, while Windy’s pinwheel made a whistly “whshshsh.”

Soon Sunny met Mild and Lolly. “Hello, Sunny.” Cling! Clang! Crash!

And who was on the see-saw, but Stop, Go and Little Quick. squeeeeek, plonk squeeeeek, plonk squeeeeek

“Listen to all the sounds we can make...”

Suddenly, Sunny had an idea. “Let’s have…”

“… a hootenanny!”

“We’ll stomp our feet!”

“I can shake my marbles in this old tin can,” chuckled Mellow. “And I can whistle,” chimed in Windy.

“Let’s be drummers,” said Lolly and Mild.

“Mee-row” sang Stop. “Woof” growled Go. And Little Quick hummed a tune.

Woof

Mee-row

La La La

Everyone sang and whistled and clanged and hummed and stomped and rattled until it was time to go home.

Goodnight, city.

Goodnight, Sunny.
