OUR STORY STARTS HERE
When we first laid eyes on our wiggly little pug puppy Momo, we knew we would never be the same (we would soon learn that neither would our condo!) We stocked up on EVERYTHING for Momo, but one item on the list always seemed to evade us: THE PERFECT BED. The low-priced beds didn’t match our décor and were certainly no match for Momo’s appetite! The beds that seemed to be higher quality with better design seemed overpriced and well, a little boring. SO WE DECIDED TO START FROM SCRATCH. We took the entire bed-making process apart, starting at the beginning: from the right type and amount of filling, to designing the perfect zipper, to selecting the most durable, color-fast fabrics... all of the little details that make a product a work of art. And speaking of art, we partnered with artists from all over the U.S.A. and EUROPE to create stunning designs exclusively for your pet, you and your home décor. Our goal was a COMFORTABLE, MACHINE-WASHABLE, ECO-FRIENDLY product… with UNIQUE STYLE. The result? Well we think we’ve redefined the pet bed experience… For you: easy shopping, washing and a great fit for your taste. For your dog: lounging comfortably for years to come. Win-win! OUR GREEN GOALS We care about the environment because it is important. Many of your customers want to do their part to help the planet and our products help you meet their needs. At P.L.A.Y., we use PlanetFill®, a non-toxic soft polyfiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles in all our beds and plush toys. We save 108 plastic bottles from going into the landfill in every P.L.A.Y. XL Lounge Bed. We consider PlanetFill® an evolution from traditional memory foam filler as PlanetFill® is eco-friendly, 100% machine washable and dryable, and does not contain formaldehyde which is a chemical commonly found in most memory foam.

When it comes to saving the environment, we don’t stop at what goes into our beds. We use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper for our packaging. We minimize materials used in packaging but in places where they are needed, we make sure they come from sustainable sources. Since P.L.A.Y. was founded in 2010, we’ve partnered with various local artists such as Dave Collins, Alicia Pompei, J. Nichole Smith, etc. in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. Together, they bring with them cool West Coast flair and urban New York chic that have made our beds into one-of-a-kind artistic pieces that are exclusive to P.L.A.Y. All our designers share a common love for animals and an eye for the whimsical… a successful blend of these two have enabled us to come up with cutting-edge designer dog beds that are visually impactful and modern, without sacrificing practicality and durability. With the majority of bed manufacturers using the same mass-produced patterns commonly found on the market, P.L.A.Y.’s artist-inspired designs easily stand out from the pack and gives any home or store a unique and refreshing facelift. To date, we have saved close to three million bottles from going into the landfill. We are also Gold Certified by Green America’s Green Business Certification program. Learn more about our Green Goals on Page 5. Workers – we pay all our employees equitably and fairly, and make every effort to create an environment where employees feel safe and supported. Our goal is to ensure that every employee at P.L.A.Y. feels like they are part of a family and we do so by having regular one-on-one meetings and lunches where feedback, milestones and goals are shared transparently and openly. Community – we actively give back through various giving back programs like our Warm Bellies Initiative with the Petfinder Foundation, donating beds to homeless pets in need, and contributing 2% of all sales from our Under the Sea, Bugging Out and Safari toy collections to the International Fund for Animal Welfare. We also award our Scholars Helping Collars scholarship annually with the goal of raising awareness and promoting animal protection among our youth. In addition, we host adoption events at our headquarters with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue twice a year and regularly give back to many groups and charities across the country.
