Finding a photographer was an easy choice for the couple. They flew in wedding destination photographer Karin Von Voigtlander based in New York City. “I have worked with Karin before and I love her mix of artistic and photojournalistic style, as well as, her attention to detail. We were just so glad to have her,” says Jessica. “I also had my wonderful colleagues Paul Parker and Bruno film the event and they were truly like a fly on the wall.” After the ceremony, most of the guests descended down to the venue and refreshed themselves with fresh stone oven baked foccacia and champagne while the couple took pictures with their family and bridal party. The fabulous set designer of WEDDINGDAY Elaine Zarb from Elegant Impressions surprised the couple with a wonderful set-up on a separate area on the hill that was reserved for photos. “Elaine designed jars with silk and lace ribbons, WD | 38

and among the vines she hung two huge J & J’s (our initials) with a heart made out of wine corks representing the wine hill we got married on. It was a lovely surprise”, enthuses the bride. Jakob had his suit custom made in Berlin but his vest and tie were made by Cefai. All the groomsmen’s tuxedos were also by Cefai Formal Wear. “Joe Cefai was so patient and gave us a fantastic service. Nearly all week before the wedding we would run down to his shop in Gozo with another groomsman who had just arrived from abroad who needed alterations to his suit. Cefai’s turn-around-time and quality truly matches no other.” The bridesmaids were from three different continents so Jessica decided to just give them a colour sample and they would chose the dress themselves. “I didn’t want to put them in a uniform style, especially since my bridesmaids had all different body shapes and were different ages.
