Coppe: 50 years generating knowledge A report on the 50 years of the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Coppe-UFRJ), with some of the main exponents of the organization. Founded in 1963 by the engineer Alberto Luiz Coimbra, Coppe has helped to consolidate graduate studies in Brazil and, throughout four decades, has become Latin America’s biggest engineering education and research center.
