life in the fast lane experiences that give the green light to break the speed limit
RichaRd Petty dRiving exPeRience For years, you’ve watched NASCAR pros go round-and-round—always to the left— and muttered to yourself, “How difficult can that be?” Find out for yourself at the Richard Petty Driving Experience, as you slide into a regulation NASCAR stock car and do laps—eight for $499; 18 for $899; 30 for $1,349—around Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile, tri-oval racetrack, where you and your fellow amateur foes race at speeds of up to 155 mph. Not comfortable in the driver’s seat? No problem: You can satisfy your need for speed with a three-lap ride-along with a professional driver for $109 (barf bag not included). 702.643.4343; drivepetty.com

exotics Racing At Exotics Racing, which is adjacent to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there are three Ferrari models on offer. And three Lamborghinis … and two Porsches … and an Audi R8 and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage S and a McLaren MP4-12C. Just pick from more than 30 exotic super cars, and go for a spin around a 1.2-mile, seven-turn road course that includes 1,800 feet of straightaway—where you can really lay the pedal to the metal. Your speed limit? That’s determined by the expert who rides shotgun with a brake at his feet. (Don’t worry: He wants to go as fast as you do!) 702.405.7223; exoticsracing.com
Pole Position Raceway Perhaps piloting a 2,000-pound machine around a racetrack at speeds that would make Tony Stewart blush doesn’t suit your stomach (or your budget). Or maybe you’re more of an open-wheel enthusiast. Either way, Pole Position Raceway offers a climate-controlled, indoor go-kart racing alternative that’s fun for all who measure at least 4 feet tall. Just don’t confuse go-karts for bumper cars—these state-of-the-art machines, which top out at 45 mph, are the fastest electric karts in the country (which is why race helmets with shields are required). Also, they call this a raceway for a reason: The side-by-side action is intense (and you should be, too). 4175 S. Arville St., 702.227.7223; polepositionraceway.com/lasvegas
