Spring / Summer 2021 Fashion with Mint Collective

If you are a fashion enthusiast then it should come as no surprise to you that many of our local boutiques take pride in bringing the latest runway trends to their shops each season. As we begin to think ahead to spring, and even summer, VIP spoke to local fashionistas Megan Podolsky and Katie Coslov of Mint Collective! We wanted to find out what our readers should begin making space for in their closets, and they were thrilled to share which trends are sure to make the cut this season!

FLORAL PRINTS

Flowers are like friends, they bring color into your life. This spring, they’ll be breathing more into your wardrobe than you could ever imagine! It looks like the only way to be fashion-forward for spring is to embrace bold, bright and impactful floral prints. From casual sun dresses to gala-worthy ball gowns, you’ll need a new pair of shades to protect your eyes from the brilliant prints that are coming your way!

TIE-DYE

They say we should be the energy we want to attract and as we charge into 2021, there is no better way to welcome good vibes than with tie-dye! Designers are having fun translating this infamous trend into a modern movement, full of statement pieces that are making us little girls from the 80’s and 90’s jump for joy. From muted pastel patterns to loud, jaw dropping pieces, there is one thing we know for sure: it’s time for us all to embrace the year of the rainbow.

SHOULDERS

Ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders this spring! Standout shoulders began in late 2020 as a nod to the 80’s, but have become so much more than another glorified throwback. Powerful and structured silhouettes are 'it' this spring, and the fierce women of the fashion scene want you to know that your shoulders shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all.

PASTELS

When it comes to spring fashion, you should always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn. That’s right! Pastels have made their way back onto the runway and into our hearts, and we could not be more excited! Let the mood of the season inspire you as you lean into romantic shades of rose, baby blue, magic mint, peach and periwinkle. If spring is the season of new beginnings then pastels are the perfect way to say “hello, beautiful” to 2021!

CINCHING

This season, say it with your waist. Using a belt to cinch is nothing new, but designers are finding original and fearless ways to create shape this season. Using drawstrings, signature pieces are allowing us all to model a sporty style. We love this trend for the work-from-home professionals, who enjoy going from sporty-chic to Zoomready with ease!
