Industrial design is a vital part of modern-day living. Every day we encounter products designed and manufactured with the intention of making our lives easier.
Western Sydney University Law degrees are global in outlook and integrate academic content with professional skill development experiences such as mooting, legal drafting, court advocacy, client advising, alternative dispute resolution role plays (legal negotiation, mediation and arbitration), and clinical legal placements.
As a graduate of the Medicine and Surgery degree (MBBS), you’ll be more than just highly skilled; you’ll be ready for your internship and further specialist training.
Law programs are offered at the Campbelltown and Parramatta campuses. The Science facilities span three campuses (Campbelltown, Hawkesbury and Parramatta) and include Anatomical, Biological and Chemical facilities, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, the Mass Spectroscopy Lab and Confocal Bio-Imaging Facility. If you would like more flexibility to plan and manage your study around your lifestyle and the many demands on your time, our Summer session offers two optional learning periods between December and February. With Summer session, you can complete your degree your way, get ahead in your course so you can graduate and start earning a salary sooner, take a session off to travel or work full-time and catch up on one or two units over summer, or lighten your study load by spreading out your subjects across the year.
Western Sydney University offers Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) where a large part of your costs are paid for by the Commonwealth Government. There is also a student contribution which needs to be paid by you, to make up the balance. You can either pay this upfront or apply for assistance through the Commonwealth Government’s Higher Education Loan Program (HECS-HELP). If you apply for this option, the amount of HECS-HELP debt you accumulate depends on which band of study your subjects fall into, and how many subjects are studied in the year (see table above). As a full-time student on campus, you should expect to spend 12–16 hours each week in lectures or tutorials between 8am and 9pm, Monday to Friday. Practical courses will require out of hours involvement and some courses require off-campus placements.

HOW LONG ARE THE TEACHING SESSIONS? Most undergraduate degrees are taught in two sessions – the Autumn session (from March to June) and the Spring session (from July to November). The College offers programs which are taught over three terms. The Sydney City Campus offers flexible session dates. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Information Officers (SIOs) are located at the Badanami Centre on each campus to provide support and advice to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education was established to provide support and encouragement for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. There is a centre located on each campus to provide a range of services and support to guide our students through their studies, helping to make their time at university enriching and enjoyable.

STUDY SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS The Tutoring for Success Program (TFS) enables Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to receive individual or group tuition with qualified tutors. You may be eligible for up to two hours tuition per week for each unit of study, plus an additional five hours each semester for exam preparation. Tuition sessions can be either individual, or for a group of students studying the same program. The Tutoring for Success Coordinator is available to arrange tutors across a broad range of program areas. Tutorial assistance is tailored to meet the particular needs of the individual student or group of students and there is no cost to the student for this service.

THE COLLEGE Entry Articulation UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION STUDIES TO BACHELOR DEGREE ARTICULATION REQUIREMENTS
At the completion of each term of the University Foundation Studies program, students will receive a number called a Grade Point Average (GPA). The highest GPA attainable is 10. These GPAs will largely determine a student’s academic progression to the next term or course. The minimum articulation requirements for Western Sydney University courses are listed opposite. Courses which have a high demand or limited places available will usually have a higher GPA requirement.
