ORGANIZATIONS
CLUBS,
& GREEK LIFE

Surround yourself with others who share not only a passion for learning but also a desire to challenge themselves socially, culturally and intellectually.

CLUBS

ASIAN AMERICAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION (AASA) seeks to spread cultural awareness and educate others on Asian-American customs and create a community of Asian-Americans, in addition to those interested in learning more about the culture.

BLACK STUDENT ASSOCIATION is committed to meeting the evolving needs of multicultural students by enriching the quality of their college experience. BSA seeks to serve as an inclusive organization to promote awareness and foster student development through academics, diversity, and community.

CANINE CREW brings students of all dancing abilities together to learn new dance moves and routines. No prior dancing experience is required.

COMMUTER ASSISTANTS promote a sense of community within the commuter population by encouraging commuter participation in student development programs and helping them feel more connected to the campus.

COMPUTER CLUB provides opportunities to learn and explore many facets of computer science and information technology, while also giving students exposure to technology and serving the community with their skills and knowledge.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND PRE-LAW SOCIETY meets the needs of those students interested in studying law and plan to continue on to professional legal studies; ultimately striving for a

professional legal career. The club is accessible to all USF students from all majors.

DEAD POETS SOCIETY brings together all who love to read and discuss important topics. This may include but is not limited to diversity, feminism, psychological factors, and more. We encourage anyone to join, we are welcomed to new ideas and experiences. This will a safe space for people to express their opinions, both related to books and controversial topics.

DIGITAL

& RECORDING

ARTS CLUB promotes the art of digital audio recording and music with regular meetings, group outing events, group parties, discussions about the industry and recording process.

THE ENCOUNTER provides the university community with news, features, sports, and entertainment in the form of a monthly newspaper.

F.R.E.E. is dedicated to providing USF students and the community learning opportunities about personal financial matters through research and experiential learning activities.

GENDER SEXUALITY ALLIANCE (GSA) is an organization supported by the Office of Institutional Diversity which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation, and work to end homophobia

INTERNATIONAL CLUB seeks to create an environment that facilitates cross-cultural understanding and exchange among international students and the student body at-large.

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF USF promotes and cultivates an atmosphere that allows fans of superheroes, comic books, science fiction, fantasy, anime, video games and other forms of entertainment (tv shows/movies, graphic novels, manga, cosplay, conventions and role-playing, etc.) to produce discussions and relationships.

LATE NIGHT CREW is focused on programming for students on weekend nights. The group is made up of students who are around on the weekends that enjoy bringing people together to have fun.

MIGHTY MINDS is a mental health group on campus focused on ways to decrease mental health stigma on the University of St Francis campus by organizing events and meetings designed to provide resources and activities for the community.

MUSLIM STUDENT ASSOCIATION (MSA) forms an environment for Muslim students on campus to exchange, and reflect ideas in order to increase knowledge of the beautiful faith Islam. We will grow together as a community and form a bond with each other. It will be a voice for the Muslim students here on campus, allowing us to feel welcomed.

NATIONAL RESIDENCE HALL HONORARY strives to recognize the top 1% of student leaders living at USF and encourages the development and continued commitment to leadership within the areas of recognition, community service and scholastics.

PHILOSOPHY CLUB is committed to the study of philosophy through the examination of art, text, and current events. We encourage discourse across disciplines and cultures by providing the opportunity for open dialogue between students of diverse backgrounds.

PRE-HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATION seeks to offer a prestigious source of connections, advice, and support to the students of St. Francis that want to pursue a career within the healthcare related field.

PSYCHOLOGY CLUB fosters understanding and stimulates interest in the discipline of psychology while providing internship and volunteer opportunities.

RECREATION CLUB enhances recreational and educational opportunities in order for each individual to become aware of personal growth through leisure.

RESIDENCE HALL ASSOCIATION (RHA) promotes civic engagement and cultural diversity, and aims to provide social, educational and recreational programming for USF residents. RHA provides a voice for residence hall policies.

SAINTS IN ACTION (SIA) is a ministry club for students who like doing service, helping others, and building friendships.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CLUB is an organization that is creating a community that shares the same interests regarding scientific research and uses that interest to engage in civil discussion and inquiries about different scientific journals.

SOCIAL WORK CLUB increases awareness of the social work field while promoting professionalism and educational programs and seminars to its members.

STEM CLUB fosters STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) pursuits of recreational, educational, informational, and social nature for the university community of the University of St. Francis.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES BOARD plans and implements the total student entertainment program on campus, which include dances, movies, comedians, coffeehouses, and special events. Membership is open to all students.

STUDENTS COLLABORATING THROUGH ACCOUNTING LEADERSHIP AND EDUCATION FOR SUCCESS (S.C.A.L.E.S.) provides students with the resources necessary to prepare for their futures and their careers in accounting.

STUDENT ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE serves as a vehicle to promote communication between the athletic administration and all students at USF by providing a student and student-athlete voice within the department, discussing issues and concerns, and providing feedback as necessary.

STUDENT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION gives students interested in business professions a greater insight into the business world.

STUDENT NURSES ASSOCIATION assists students in the development of self-direction and responsibility while providing a channel of communication between students and faculty.

STUDENTS TODAY, ALUMNI

TOMORROW functions as a liaison between students and alumni providing collaborative opportunities. It expands students educational experience while improving student life and strengthening lifelong loyalty to the University of St. Francis.

UNIDOS VAMOS A ALCANZAR (UNITED WE WILL ACHIEVE) is dedicated to preserving and advancing Latin-American culture and serves as a support network for students of Latino descent at the University of St. Francis.

USF RADIO CLUB offers an opportunity for all students interested in the broadcasting arts, to learn and work at an operating noncommercial educational radio station

(WCSF, 88.7 FM). The USF Radio Club offers students the experience of learning to develop and produce original broadcast programming for the community, as well as for a worldwide audience.

USF TV CLUB is a student-run club that focuses on learning through experience and creating results. Any USF student can join and utilize their creativity in a fun environment. Members learn to perform in front of the camera, shoot video, edit their footage while working with in groups to produce video packages and shows, all while having a good time learning with other creative people.

YOGA CLUB is inviting and welcoming of all students to use the club to with help mental health and physical wellness.

ORGANIZATIONS

MUSIC ENSEMBLES including Concert Chorale, Schola Cantorum, Singing Saints, Joliet Symphony Orchestra, Theater/Music-Opera Theater, USF Pep Band, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

PI LAMBDA THETA honor society serves to recognize outstanding students pursuing careers in education.

SAINTS AMBASSADOR CORPS members assist the Admissions Office with recruiting new students. Members are trained to give tours, phone prospective students, and host overnight guests. Prospective members are interviewed and selected by the Admissions Office.

STUDENT ALUMNI MENTORING

(SAM) was established in 2012 to bring students and alumni together to help pave the way for students to succeed at USF and beyond. Students are partnered with an alum whose education and career

closely matches the student’s, to gain direction and potential career goals and connections. This program is sponsored by the Alumni & Family Relations Office.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

ASSOCIATION members act as the representative voice of the student body as they work to address issues on campus and oversee club activity.

UNIVERSITY MINISTRY offers students the opportunity to carry out their calling to serve others through local, national and international experiences. One international experience is a mission trip to Sucre, Bolivia, where students work in orphanages, hospitals and prisons to care for those in need.

GREEK LIFE

ALPHA PHI is a sisterhood of outstanding women supporting one another in lifelong achievement. This women’s fraternity enhances and promotes each member’s development and learning by focusing on sisterhood, service, scholarship, leadership, loyalty and character development. Sisters share a commitment to excellence and strong desire to help one another and their communities.

ALPHA PSI LAMBDA is the nation’s first and largest co-ed Latino fraternity. Although the fraternity is Latino-focused, Alpha Psi Lambda welcomes students from all backgrounds and cultures including Latin American, Caribbean, European, and Asian. Alpha Psi Lambda stands as one family united. Their strength lies in the ability to focus on our culture while appreciating the diversity of others. Alpha Psi Lambda is proud to say that we are more than a brotherhood, more than a sisterhood… we are a familia.
