WHAT’S THIS CITY CENTRE ALL ABOUT? Well, we’re the fifth largest city in the country and enjoying fast-paced growth. More businesses and people are coming here (just like you). That means there’s more to do and more to see. Our stunning iconic waterfront location makes this a beautiful place to come to work each day. Outside of your work hours enjoy our huge selection of cafes, bars and restaurants across the city centre. Check out the Wharf St Dining Precinct and The Strand for some of our iconic eateries. There’s great shopping too. As the civic, cultural and commercial heart of the region you can find anything from a pair of socks to a council permit. Soak up some art and culture in our galleries and open spaces. Bike to work or take the bus. It’s easy to get around in our city centre. Not sure where to find something? Just ask. We’re a friendly bunch and want you to feel welcome in the city centre.

THE PRACTICAL STUFF Need to know where to go to do the essentials? This quick guide might give you some initial helpful insights. It’s not a full list – just some suggestions of places closest to your workspace that you might need to get to. For everything else you need to know – just ask.
Where to Park The Spring Street Parking Building Corner Durham St and Spring St. Open 7am-9pm Mon-Sat. Closed Sun. The Elizabeth Street Parking Building On Elizabeth St and First Ave. Open 7am-6.30pm Mon-Fri. 8am-5.30pm Sat. Closed Sun. Off-Street Parking On Dive Cres, Harington St, Willow St, Elizabeth St. On-Street Parking It’s free to park anywhere in the city centre after 3pm. There’s a 10 minute grace period if you’re just stopping briefly to pick up or drop something off. All parking is free on Sundays and public holidays. There are two parking zones in the city. The central (green) zone is $2 an hour and the outer (yellow) zone is $1 an hour. There’s no time limits, just top up your meter to stay longer. Catching the Bus There are 12 bus routes covering the Bay and leading into the city centre. Buses run seven days a week. All buses arrive and depart from Wharf St just by the Tauranga Library. For timetables and routes visit www.baybus.co.nz/taurangawestern-bay/tauranga-urban/
