I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten. Joel 2:25

ISSUE 1

words from the lead pastor

GOD WILL RESTORE

T

he world has battled COVID-19 for more than two years. Each time we try to get back to what we were before, the virus mutates and delivers another blow. People are impacted. Livelihoods are affected. Relationships are strained. But the God we serve is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (everywhere), and omnipotent (all-powerful)! And He’s about to restore us back to a state even better than what it was before! God’s prophetic Word to us is from Joel 2:25 “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.” While COVID-19 has set back and disrupted businesses, travel and supply shortages, and, God will bring RESTORATION to His people. “The years the locusts have eaten” represent the loss of time, possessions, opportunities, zeal, purpose, dreams, and even compassion. But God will recompense, repay, redeem, and restore what was lost back to you. Read the Watchnight sermon (pg 24) and respond to what the Spirit of the Lord is saying about your situation. We are a church on a mission to carry God’s passionate heartbeat regardless of

border closures (pg 68). It’s exciting to hear of how God is moving across the world and how Trinitarians press onward through digital missions trips to make a difference. How precious the sight when the house of God was filled with worshippers at our touchstone events (pg 10-27, pg 94)! No doubt there is a cap of the number of people allowed in our Sanctuary. But nothing moves the hand of God more than a people hungry for His presence. God is moving powerfully as the people of God return to build the House of God. Don’t sit on the sidelines. Don’t remain a spectator online. Be a disciple. Be restored to better than you were before, more passionate than you were before, more committed than you were before! There is a global initiative, MM33, (pg 34) that God is moving Trinity into. You will hear more in the days to come, but God is preparing us right now. Get ready for His restoration! Let us be restored for His mandate!

THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS MESMERIZED WITH A HYBRID CHOIR, PRECISION SYNCHING AND A TOUCHING MESSAGE OF FORGIVENESS AND HOPE.

The message was clear. The audience was touched. The Heart of Christmas has taken Trinity Christian Centre’s presentations to another level. Held from December 17 to 24, it came replete with a slick combination of recorded choir and live singers, a locallyproduced movie starring Gurmit Singh, and powerful messages on forgiveness and hope. Nine presentations were held at Trinity@Paya Lebar and CHIJMES – with all tickets snapped up quickly when bookings started. The thrill was almost tangible as orderly queues thronged the foyer of Trinity@Paya Lebar. Eager excitement

The atmosphere stirred with expectancy as Trinitarians and their invited guests eagerly awaited the start of Trinity Christian Centre’s (TCC) The Heart of Christmas presentation that combined a 70-strong virtual choir with live singers and musicians, plus an original movie starring actor Gurmit Singh.

My childhood friend, HL suffered a stroke in May this year, and we met up sometime in July as soon as he was able to. When church re-opened in August I invited HL to attend one of our weeknight services. On the way home after service, I shared Christ with him, and he said the Sinner’s Prayer with me in the car! His wife, however, was reluctant to come to church.

The virtual and on-site orchestra and choir rang in the glory of God with songs of worship spliced delightfully with familiar Christmas carols. Hands were raised, many clapped in accompaniment and a number were in wonder whether the virtual life-sized musicians were real-life people on stage.

About a week or two before the presentation, I invited them to my place for dinner and connected them with my CG mates. They invited her to the presentation, and she agreed. At the end of the presentation, she responded to the call for salvation and received Jesus Christ into her life. And that’s not all, their granddaughter whom they brought along for DiscoveryLand’s Christmas in Fruitasia presentation, also said the Sinner’s Prayer. Hallelujah! Praise God for the salvations in HL’s family!

Trinity’s original movie Your Love is Enough, Part Two, is about an estranged father seeking his daughter's forgiveness after his release from prison. I can truly understand what Tash (Gurmit’s on-screen daughter) went through,” shared first-time visitor Gina Tow who came with her fiancée, Wes Teo. They were invited by Nicholas Teo from Area Four. She reflected on her journey; “It was worse for me… I had a difficult relationship with my father. What Tash had to go through and what Pastor Eveleen shared about forgiving her father, I really felt it. Danny Teo and Julie Chin from Mustard Seed CG also shared how a reconnected childhood friend, HL, his wife and grandchild received Christ through The Heart of Christmas presentation.

Of the nine presentations that Trinity put up, two were at CHIJMES. The atmosphere was equally joyous and beautiful as Trinitarians enjoyed God’s presence together with their family and friends. Fiona and EK from Lengkong Tiga 109 CG attended one of the presentations at CHIJMES with two friends, “Seeing everyone come together and serving to make this possible really embodies the Heart of Christmas. Even if it is just for that one decision, it is all worth it and we all rejoice. That is why I am proud to be a Trinitarian“.

FOLLOW SARAH HAN AS SHE REFLECTS ON FAMILY CHRISTMAS SERVICES AND THE PEOPLE SHE MET.

The last two years brought many changes to the church with the unpredictable pandemic. This gave gathering on-site for Family Christmas an added touch of joy and gratitude. It was even more significant for families with young children, celebrating their first Family Christmas together in church since the pandemic started.

Alvin and Helen Bok experienced great joy coming with their young son for service on Sunday morning. As compared to attending online, being on-site with the rest of the church enabled them to feel the presence of the Lord.

Alvin and Helen Bok with their son

They were ministered to by the word brought by Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo, titled Christmas is a Big ”BUT.” Pastor Dominic shared that Christmas is God's assurance and reassurance over our lives. Just as an angel of the Lord brought a message of great joy in Luke 2:10, we are carriers of God's joy to others. For Samuel Lee, sharing this good news of joy was his priority. With Family Christmas fully booked, he spent days attempting to secure nine seats for his family and relatives as seats were released. On Christmas Eve,

he received his miracle. “I was able to book seats for nine of my family members, all first-time visitors. I pray seeds of God’s love were sown as they heard about Jesus, the reason for the season,“ shared Samuel. Family Christmas is symbolic because it’s a time where spiritual families also gather to celebrate and remember Jesus Christ as our Savior. For Connect Groups (CG) such as mine, coming together for Family Christmas is an important milestone. I joined Living Rivers Campus CG during the pandemic, so this was our first-time attending Family Christmas on-site in the same service. We felt it was very meaningful to celebrate what Jesus has done for us, together. Growing up as a Christian, I have heard the Christmas story many times, especially about Jesus being born in a manger. But I appreciated that this Family Christmas, the emphasis was different. Pastor Dominic reminded us that Christmas is not just about a baby born in a manger. Christmas is about how this baby grew to be a Savior, saving the world. He came so that His light can be shown and revealed in our lives.

From left: Jeremy, Megan, Pearly, and Roland

Every family that I met and spoke with shared the same sentiment. Christmas celebrates more than just the birth of Jesus; it is the celebration of the grace and faithfulness He has extended to all mankind. For this reason, Roland and Pearly Tan's family look forward to Family Christmas every year. As they attend service together, they remember God's goodness over their lives. With Christ being born in some of the darkest hours of Jewish history, Christmas reminds us of divine breakthrough in the midst of dark times, a sign of God's presence, hope, and love. We thank God that even as 2021 ends with the pandemic still at hand, we can celebrate Jesus Christ our Savior and share His love, grace, and mercy with those around us. Whether we came together as a biological or spiritual family, God has been good and God is always Emmanuel – God with us.

FAMILY COMMUNION

OVERFLOWING FROM ON-SITE TO ONLINE B Y E D M U ND T A N G H IM MEN G

UTILIZING EVERY NOOK AND CORNER OF TRINITY@PAYA LEBAR, FAMILY COMMUNION DREW HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES SEEKING TO PARTAKE OF HOLY COMMUNION AND REMEMBER CHRIST'S FAITHFULNESS.

The year-end Family Communion is a much-cherished tradition in our church. It’s a reflective time where families – both biological and spiritual – gather to thank God for His goodness over the year and prepare ourselves to cross over into the new year. On-site partaking of communion was not permitted in 2020 due to the pandemic; thus we are even more thankful for the green light to resume in 2021, albeit with safe distancing measures. Held on December 26 and 31, I found the on-site atmosphere nostalgically familiar. Yet there were distinct differences brought about by the safe-distancing measures – adherence to time slots booked, minimized waiting, many decentralized sites within the church compound for communion proper, and less groups (and people) at each site. Words can never adequately describe the on-site vibe; hence we will visually present the highlights of those two days.

2 Days of Ministry A special “thank you” to the many Trinitarians (clergy and laity) who came forth to serve. Online communion was also conducted on December 31 to specially cater to those who could not book an on-site slot or could not come on-site for other reasons.

3 Generations …of Trinitarians partaking Communion under the same roof on those two days – the young ones, the younger ones, and the young at heart. Some groups spanned these three generations. Sheryl, Rosyth CG It’s a wonderful feeling. Though we’ve been meeting as a Connect Group (CG) over Zoom, there was a feeling of closeness as we get connected as a (spiritual) family to give thanks and praises together. There’s been lots of challenges over these two years, but God has made this possible. Though the Communion time was short, it meant a lot to us. Two of my CG members present could meet in person for the first time!

Keok Choon, Crossover CG Feels special in spite of the various safeguards (safe distancing measures). Having been in Trinity for so long, Family Communion is like a family tradition to thank God for the year together, despite everything that’s going on. Would also like to encourage those who can come back on-site to do so.

See Yeong and Samie, Refiner’s Fire CG Nothing beats meeting face-to-face and being prayed for in person; the atmosphere is not something that can be replicated online. Also, to paraphrase a verse from Hebrews 10, we think it’s important to encourage one another and never give up meeting together. What started as safety measures should not become a route of convenience.

Ryan, Soar CG, IGNYTE It feels great to be able to partake in Communion physically again. For me, Family Communion has always been a reflection on the past year, and coming together faceto-face to pray is an experience that I have always cherished. I thank God that we are able to meet up for this, even after everything that has happened over the past year.

WATCHNIGHT 2021

UNABLE TO ATTEND WATCHNIGHT SERVICE ON-SITE IN 2020, TRINITARIANS WERE ABUZZ WITH EXCITEMENT FOR 2021’S SERVICE AND THE PROPHETIC WORD OF THE YEAR.

The anticipation for Trinity’s yearly Watchnight service began as early as 8pm on December 10, when online booking was first available. Within a minute, all seats were fully booked! On New Year’s Eve, Trinitarians made their way to the Sanctuary with excitement, eager to cross over into 2022 with God and His people. Others tuned in online across Singapore, Trinity’s three regional centers, and various continents around the world.

Those who arrived early for the special pre-event program were greeted by Pastor Melvin Lim (Area Three) and Sister Hannah Lee (Trinity Broadcast) who drummed up the atmosphere with a fun, challenging quiz on 2021 church happenings. Ivan Cheong was visibly moved by the testimonies. “Eugene’s testimony especially spoke to me. I also have the same reoccurring back issue as he did. The healing of his back proves that our God can heal! My faith has been built up. I want to continue declaring God’s healing and restoration over my body.”

Our God will repay With the global pandemic operating like “swarming” locusts that have eaten away much in the past two years, Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo felt God impressing on him Joel 2:25-26: I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten — the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm — my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God,

“The years the locust has eaten represents content, time, possibilities, and potentials you have lost. Scammers may have robbed you, investments went wrong, or relationships soured. Perhaps you’ve been robbed of your joy and are feeling indifferent and filled with apathy. ”Beyond our human understanding of restoration, which is limited to the broken returning to its original state, biblical restoration will bring something to a state even better than the original,” encouraged Pastor Dom. God’s restoration will renew our joy, expand our influence, remove our shame, and defeat our enemies. How? God will first restore our vision and direction in Him. From there, He will accelerate us into His great plans for our lives. On top of restoring our personal well-being, God desires to rebuild the spiritual walls of our nation by restoring His House and strengthening families.

My faith is strengthened when I see the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness working in the lives of fellow Trinitarians. “Pastor Dom’s message greatly encouraged me too. RESTOR

BY LEAD PASTOR DOMINIC YEO

RE REDEEM REPAY RE envision

The global church and the world have been experiencing many waves of the coronavirus, most recently the omicron wave following the delta variant. As we experience these waves, the desire for restoration is at the heart of every individual and government. Restoration is at the heart of every person. We desire for life to return to what it was before. But restoration can only be accessed through the revelation and understanding of God and His promises. Each one of us has a restorative heritage.

T

he dictionary’s definition of restoration is “to bring back something that is old, or to refurnish something that is worn out, to cause something that is broken to come back to its former state.”

However, the biblical definition of restoration or godly restoration means bringing something into a state where it would be even better than the original.

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten… – Joel 2:25 (NIV 1984)

When God first created humanity – Adam and Eve, they fell into sin. God had to send the perfect man, Jesus Christ to restore humanity back to its better glory. When God restores, He restore us to something better than the original state.

I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,… – Joel 2:25 (ESV) Then I will make up to you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten,… – Joel 2:25 (NASB)

When we read Joel 2:25 across three different versions, central is the Hebrew word ‫ם‬ ׁ ‫ ׁשל‬shâlam which means to restore, repay, and make-up. If we look into the root word, it also means to recompense, to redeem and to reward.

5. Lack of development Maintenance of your spiritual life is important. If you don’t maintain your spiritual life, you will no longer be sharp. When you stop serving, your spiritual gift starts declining. If we don’t develop and exercise our spiritual gifts, we lose them because the locusts of our soul come in and dull us.

2. Neglect We need to be mindful that we don’t neglect the worship, practice of worship of God, and public proclamation of the Word. That’s why it is important to come back for corporate worship, which is central to the theology of the church. May we not succumb to convenient worship and remain online when we are able to gather physically in church. 3. Loss of focus Once you start neglecting prayer, reading of the word, and coming to church, you slip away from God very fast. You lose your focus for God, and this allows the devil to give you another focal point by bringing someone or something else in your life that you end up focusing on. 4. God is going to renew your joy, expand your influence, remove your shame and set the enemies back.

10 AREAS OF REST ORAT ION 1. The Restoration of Vision and Direction Joseph the Dreamer was left in prison and forgotten but God restored his vision and direction. God did not forget the vision He gave to Joseph when he was a young boy. Joseph may have felt like years were wasting away in the dungeons. But when God’s restoration came, it propelled Joseph right into prominence, into his destiny.

G OD ’ S RE S TO RA TI O N W I L L 1. Renew our joy When God comes, He will restore, He renews our joy. Joy is not dependent of external stimulus. It is a disposition on the inside that determines the external stimulus. When God restores, He will turn your pain into joy.

Likewise, God will restore vision for your life. We all need vision in our lives. We need God’s vision, God’s plan, God’s purpose. When there is no vision, there is no direction. When there is no direction, there is no movement, and consequently, no acceleration. God is about to grant you a vision that will become so big in your life and move you forward. However, destruction will come if there is no vision and direction.

2. Expand your influence In the marketplace, in school, in institution. When God restores, He makes up the difference for you. You become an influence.

2. The Restoration of Work Represented by the axe head in 2 Kings 6, it speaks of the restoration of anointing to do the works of the ministry. Some of us have lost our axe head. We’ve allowed the axe head to go under. We’ve stopped serving. But God will restore your service unto Him.

3. Remove your shame Restoration takes away the shame. There is the removal of shame and embarrassment, and no longer will that reproach be upon you under His restorative power. 4. Set the enemies back When God restores, He will put you forward, He caused the enemy to take a step back. It is about pushing us forward so that the locusts, the enemy of our soul will withdraw and be beaten from us.

3. The Restoration of The House of God As depicted in Haggai 1 and 2, it is time we build the spiritual walls of our nation and build strong families. Let the Word of the Lord in Haggai 1:4 remind us to build God’s house. Let us not be “living in [our] paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin”.

There is an onslaught of the enemy to destroy families and the institution of marriage. Strong families build strong societies. Likewise, dysfunctional families build dysfunctional societies. So, we need to guard against the locusts that come and ravage our nation. We need to build strong families and guide our children in understanding how God has created them.

When safe distancing measures and lockdowns across the world were eased, people were quick to dine out, and return to the shopping malls, and even making plans for travel. Even as church doors have reopened in various parts of the world, believers have not been passionate about returning to the house of the Lord.

God will rebuild the spiritual walls of our nation. Our role is to stand in the gap, to pray, and to rebuild the city.

How eager are we in building God a house of worship, devotion and prayer? Don’t let the backdrop of omicron or whatever future virus variant, prevent us, the people of God, from returning to and gathering in His house. 4. The Restoration of The Walls of Jerusalem The walls of Jerusalem represent the walls of our nation. The book of Nehemiah spoke about rebuilding the walls of the city so that

5. The Restoration of Well-being In 1 Kings 19, Elijah the man of God is burnt out. We see the parallel in what is happening around the world, where lockdowns and restrictions have resulted in mental health issues. Elijah was so depressed that he prayed for God to kill him. Emotionally he was distraught, he stayed away even from his servant, his aide and went into the desert alone. He had lost his sense of judgement and spiraled into negativity because of mental health issues. But God began to restore Elijah’s mental health. God wants to restore us especially in the area of our mental health. He invites us into to be still in His presence, the same way He met with Elijah. He invites us to hear His voice. He invites us to restoration. If we read in 1 Kings 19:15, God told Elijah to “go back the way [he] came” and finish what he was doing. The difference was the revelation that Elijah was not in this journey alone! He found Elisha! God’s hand of restoration is upon us. He desires for us to have wholesome minds, healthy emotions, and strong relationships. 6. The Restoration of Spiritual Being We see this highlighted to us in the life of King David and the life of Peter. David sinned against God for lusting and scheming so that he could have Bathsheba.

ISSUE 1

35

Simon Peter also sinned against God with the ultimate betrayal of denying Him three times. Yet God restored them both. Yet we read of David’s repentance and restoration in Psalms 51 where God creates in him a pure heart, to renew a steadfast spirit, to return into His presence and restore the joy of salvation. For Peter, God reached out to him and restored him as the rock on which the church was built. God will restore those who have gone cold, and we will see the prodigals come back to church. The Spirit of God will stir hearts and those who betray Him will come back on fire. God will use us as vessels of restoration to restore the Spiritual Being of those around us. 7. The Restoration of Calling This can be seen in the lives of Moses, Jonah, and Peter. Moses was in the backside of the desert when God confronted him to restore him. He was no longer the prince of Egypt; he was now simply tending sheep for his father-in-law. But the harsh desert place is the perfect condition for the fire of God. It was the place where God re-fired Moses back into his calling. If you have lost your calling, God wants to restore the call of God back into your life.

envision

Similarly, Peter lost his calling when he denied the Lord three times, yet on the day of Pentecost, there was such an outpouring of the Spirit that restored him to his calling. In Acts 2, Peter preached and 3000 were added to the church that day! Jonah, the prophet of God was called to Nineveh, but he ran away because he didn’t like the assignment. But God orchestrated a fish and a worm to help Jonah rediscover his calling. God will orchestrate events, situations, and opportunities so that He can redeem and restore you to your call. 8. The Restoration of Relationships When we look at Joseph and his brothers, after all that his brothers had done to him, Joseph forgave them. God is restoring families and marriages. It doesn’t matter how deep and grave the wrongs were. If you come from a broken family, God wants to restore and make those relationships better. If you are struggling with strained relationships, God is going to work in them and bring a restoration. The greatest restoration is between God and humanity. When Adam sinned against God, there was a breach in the relationship. But God sent His son Jesus Christ so that there can be the restoration of relationship between God and man. Those who do not know Jesus will come into relationship with Him. 9. The Restoration of Life In 2 Kings 4, there was a Shunamite woman who had a son, who died yet God restored her son to life through Elisha. We read of how the Shunamite woman laid her dead boy on Elisha’s bed, and how she set out to seek Elisha at Mount Carmel.

ISSUE 1

The restoration of life happens when we surrender our dead situations to God and seek His face. God will restore life in you! God will restore life into your situations. Whatever that has been robbed from you will be restored. The medical reports may be a death sentence. The doctors may say “will die.” But God says “will NOT die!” 10. The Restoration of Livelihood There was no ability for livelihood or a future for the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7. But as soon as she served the prophet, the restoration kicked in. God provided the oil for her to sell as a means of livelihood. Similarly, in the book of Job, Job was a man who love and feared God. The devil caused the enemy of his soul to take away, livestock, wealth, and children. However, Job said “even if I die, I will not curse God.” He chose to remain faithful till the end and God restored him, not to former glory but even better glory. Both the widow and Job show us, that we need to hold on, trust God till the end. Put God first. And watch the miracle of divine provision happen.

Trinity’s Decade of Expansion is now culminating with the World Assemblies of God Fellowship’s (WAGF) global initiative MM33.

MM33 represents the collaborative effort of WAGF to engage in the greatest work of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting the world has ever seen. With full reliance on the Holy Spirit, the fellowship will collectively foster a growing revival, leading to Kingdom expansion as more people encounter the Gospel! The Great Commission is His mandate and our mission.

We need to position ourselves for this restorative work of God, first in our lives, and then the restorative work in lives around the world. Let’s arise, lay hold, and move forward with this prophetic message of Restoration for His Mandate!

TOWARD ONE MILLION AG CHURCHES IN 2033

H I S M A N D AT E , OUR MISSION 2033 marks the second millennium of the ascension of Jesus Christ and the beginning of Pentecost. It’s a significant milestone worth celebrating. By then, the world’s population is forecast to surpass eight billion. The years preceding 2033 are just as important. There’s a need to heighten awareness of Jesus’ Commission in Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The name of this global initiative is MM33. MM is the roman numeral for 2,000 years while 33 is the year Jesus gave us the Great Commission. MM also means Mandate and Mission that were given to believers in AD33. MM33 represents the collaborative effort of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF) to engage in the greatest work of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting the world has ever seen. With full reliance on the Holy Spirit, the fellowship will collectively foster a growing revival, leading to Kingdom expansion as more people encounter the Gospel.

If ever there was an appointed time in history for revival, it’s now and in the coming decade.

A prophetic exhortation shared at the 2017 World Assemblies of God Congress asked the Lord of the Harvest to help, grow WAGF to one million churches in 2033. Now, more than ever, AG churches are globally connected, with more than 160 national councils from over 140 countries. It has more people and more resources than it ever had in its history. This has ignited evangelism efforts, with full reliance on the Holy Spirit, believing that it can expand the footprint of the Church around the world.

The collective body of WAGF is seeking the Lord and taking steps to grow to one million churches by the 2000th anniversary of Jesus Christ’s resurrection and the Day of Pentecost in 2033 and continuing the mission. The 11-year lead time aims to give all Assemblies of God (AG) churches around the world sufficient time to align their plans with this global initiative. It will also enable momentum to be built and to stir congregations to greater urgency to pray, reach out and make disciples. In 2033, a slew of events will be organized to celebrate the Jubilee of Jubilees and the revival as one global family in Christ.

LEFT The late Dr George O. Wood

The Azusa Street Revival had such enduring fruitfulness precisely because Christ was exalted, the Word of God was the plumb line, and people responded to the gospel with repentance and baptism in water and in the Spirit. And, like the early Church, they were full of the Holy Spirit and went everywhere to share the good news!

PROPHETIC WORD RELEASED IN 2017 Since it was founded, WAGF has always participated in world evangelism. An unprecedented period of growth happened during the Decade of Harvest from1990-2000, and by God’s grace, has since continued to expand with approximately 370,0000 churches and almost 70 million adherents.

There’s never been a better time to usher in a period of revival than now. Churches are growing in many parts of the world. The perfect combination of increased spiritual awareness and the desire to do the Will of God creates the ideal window to press in for revival.

Will you make it your mission to foster renewal in your heart and see revival happen in your family and community?

If ever there was an appointed time in history for revival, it’s now and in the coming decade.

TAKING THE GOSPEL TO THE WORLD Many people have yet to hear the Good News. The world is crying out for a source of true hope, and Jesus is the answer! The Great Commission was given to take the Gospel to the whole world, and there is much work to be done.

MM33 represents the effort to engage in the greatest work of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting the world has ever seen – to make known the name of Jesus and His offer of salvation and eternal life to every person on planet Earth.

MM33 is a covenant of brothers and sisters in Christ in a collective pursuit of building the Kingdom by fostering revival and expanding to one million churches. The pace of church planting and evangelism needs to exponentially grow to reach this goal in 2033.

Together, believers can impact the globe as the Gospel is shared, and to usher in global revitalization and revival!

The Lord has equipped believers for such a time as this. With a globally connected Movement of God spanning more than 140 countries; resources, churches, and members around the world have grown.

COVENANTING FOR K I N G D O M E X PAN S I O N The world is evolving into a new normal following the pandemic. While new challenges have arisen, there’s also an acceleration in the move of the Spirit. Christ is coming back for a great rapture of the church. Jesus tarries for He desires none to perish. Churches and ministries need to spring into action to reap the greatest harvest of our time! February 9, 2022 was a defining moment for us as the Assemblies of God. The Executive Council of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF) gathered both in Florida and online, covenanting to Kingdom Expansion. “The signing of the MM33 (His Mandate, Our Mission) covenant signifies our united declaration, commitment and ownership toward evangelism, revival, discipleship, and global expansion,” says Dominic Yeo, Chairman of the MM33 Taskforce and Secretary of WAGF.

with a mighty outpouring of the Spirit see the greatest evangelism and revival in our generation, to present to the Lord one million churches in the year 2033. “As the Spirit of God enabled Dr George Wood to release the prophesy in 2017, we have gathered here, in person and online, by the Spirit of God. We aren’t just putting a mere signature. We put our signature on this covenant for the glory of God. The Lord is with us and we are going to see a great revival,” says David Mohan, acting chairman of WAGF. Would you be a part of MM33 to work toward a shared common vision, fulfill the Great Commission, and participate in the greatest evangelism that the world has ever seen? The Assemblies of God USA is so excited to be in partnership with WAGF for MM33. I can’t think of a more unifying vision to position us as this great Pentecostal body to see the Great Commission fulfilled.

God has given us the opportunity to relaunch the AG in all the world. MM33 is an opportunity for every AG church to be on the same page. MM33 will be our main priority and agenda for the next 11 years leading up to 2033. We are committed to see our fraternity coming together to make this the greatest move of God.

Doug Clay, General Superintendent, AG USA

MM33 is a vision that invites us to be intentional with Church growth in south of Europe and all over the world. The south Europe region of the world was the crater of the expansion of the church. From now to 2033, I believe we need to reawaken the expansion of the church like never before in history.

Ricardo Castillo, Executive council member

of WAGF and General Superintendent of AG in Costa Rica.

There is no such thing as a junior Holy Spirit. All over the world, boys and girls as young as eight and nine are listening to the whisper of God. They will not only dream about what the kingdom of God will look like in 2033, they will be the ones planting and leading churches. We can’t wait to see what God will do as we raise the next generation.

Pastor Juan Carlos, General Superintendent, AG Spain

We believe that a spirit-empowered, healthy thriving church is the hope of the world. Lost vision is the reason churches plateau and decline. We are going to do everything we can to reverse that, getting people to change the way they think, so that their vision is to win the world and complete the Great Commission.

Heath Adamson, Next Gen Commission, WAGF

107 countries are now sending out missionaries. Just a few years ago, there were fewer than 50. There’s incredible potential for growth and new missionaries to be sent. Part of this will take place among the 10/40 window and unreached people groups. We are so excited to see 40,000 missionaries sent around the world to participate and contribute to that vision of seeing a million churches.

Alton Garrison, Church Health Commission Chair, WAGF

I believe this platform is going to propel the church forward. It is not an impossible dream but it is a reality that is going to happen by the year 2033 – where we are going to see over a million Assemblies of God churches around the world! Rob Hoskins, Senior Advisor,

FROM 4,000 PAINKILLERS TO COMPLETE BACK RESTORATION BY EUGENE PHUA

EUGENE PHUA FROM AREA FIVE DID NOT BELIEVE GOD COULD HEAL HIM AFTER 20 YEARS OF EXTREME BACK PAIN. TODAY, HE HAS A BRAND NEW BACK AND HEART. I suffered from a degenerative back for more than 20 years. The only way out was surgery, but I wanted to avoid that as far as possible. I wished and hoped I would magically recover. The pain never went away. To dull the pain, I have taken more than 4,000 tablets of painkillers over the last two decades. The pain in the initial years was unbearable.

I have taken more than 4,000 tablets of painkillers over the last two decades. The pain in the initial years was unbearable.

I had no choice but to live with it. In April 2020, the pain returned with a vengeance. Due to long hours of sitting and working from home, I found myself back in the state of unimaginable discomfort. Shooting aches ran up and down my right leg with frequent episodes of numbness. My spine was visibly skewed to the right. What would be a relaxing journey for a normal person to the supermarket was a torment for me. I couldn't walk for long and had to sit after walking no farther than 100 meters.

I wasn’t even able to carry my young daughter. I spent considerable time and money looking for alternative treatments, but nothing helped. Throughout this period, however, my wife and sisters-in-law prayed for God’s healing upon me. I knew who Jesus was and attended church with my wife occasionally at Trinity, but I found it very difficult to have faith, especially when prayers for healing were not answered immediately. Though I found it hard for me to believe that God would heal me, my wife and our Connect Group leader Kok Wai continued to intercede for me, and even called our CG members to pray for my restoration. As they prayed, God worked in my heart. Beyond my physical pain, I struggled with many other condemning thoughts. For example, I believed that healing was transactional and in order to receive it, I needed to earn favor with God first. God opened the door for me to begin attending DEW (Divine Exchange and Wholeness) Ministry counseling sessions at Trinity, which demolished wrong belief systems holding me back from a personal relationship with God.

God every week. I truly experienced a breakthrough in my heart – I could finally believe. Physically, I was still struggling with my back pain and finally decided to opt for surgery. At the same time, I prayed: “God, if there is a better plan for me than surgery, please give me the clearest sign.” A week before my scheduled surgery, the Tan Tock Seng Hospital cluster took place and all elective and non-urgent procedures were deferred indefinitely. I wondered to myself if this was the sign that I asked for. Come August, the surgery was rescheduled a second time. I had begun to see signs of improvement without any treatment. It was then my wife asked me this milliondollar question: “Do you believe God has healed you?” I was afraid to answer because I was not sure if the back pain would return later. Suddenly, fresh faith welled up inside of me.

Something shifted within me and I began to see that God loved me and had a purpose for my life. When on-site services resumed, I decided to attend church every Sunday with my wife, and not just attend absent-mindedly like I did in the past. I listened attentively and intentionally prepared my heart to meet

He has changed my heart of stone – cold and skeptical – to a heart of flesh that is receptive to Him.

I picked up the phone, called my doctor, and canceled the surgery. Canceling the surgery meant a complete nullification of almost four months’ worth of polyclinic visits, specialist referrals, MRI tests, x-rays, blood tests, and other pre-admission tests. But it was worth it. Ever since I took that leap of faith, it has been breakthrough after breakthrough. My scoliosis is gone. My back is now as straight as any normal adult’s. Even though I still work from home with prolonged hours sitting at my desk, I experience zero pain without painkillers. I can even contort my back in every way imaginable and not feel an ounce of the pain that used to be triggered in the past.

For the first time, I am courageous enough to tell them, “None of that worked for me. It was God who healed me.” Today, I can no longer deny that God is real. After twenty years of back pain, I am completely healed by God’s grace. Beyond a brand-new back, the bigger miracle is that He has also given a brand-new heart. He has changed my heart of stone – cold and skeptical – to a heart of flesh that is receptive to Him. I believe Jesus can heal all who call upon Him and is our prayer answering God!

The best part is I get to carry my daughter in my arms again. My colleagues who see me now say that they can tell something is visibly different about me. I’m standing taller, straighter, and taking longer walks without needing to stop for breaks. They’ve asked me, “Which TCM do you go to? Who’s your chiropractor?”

GOD TURNS LOSS INTO GAIN B Y ANG E L INE NG

GOD'S ABIDING PRESENCE DID NOT LEAVE ANGELINE AS SHE UNDERWENT A PAINFUL JOB LOSS. AS SHE TRUSTED HIM, GOD INTERVENED. Have you ever been in a place where life was smooth sailing, but suddenly you were awakened by a storm? In July 2020, I lost my job right amid the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. To make matters worse, I turned down a job offer two months earlier because I felt God asking me to wait. It never occurred to me that my job would be made redundant. My career path had always been smooth. I was shocked, and the fear of being unable to provide for my family became real overnight. I found myself caught in a storm.

God’s presence was tangible, and I heard Him saying that He would walk with me through this season even though I could not comprehend the "whys" and "hows." A member of my CG saw a vision of God’s open doors for me, which brought me much assurance. Later that night, God spoke to me through Isaiah 41:13 and 1 Chronicles 17:9-14: For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. ISAIAH 41:13

In the days that followed, all I could do was find refuge in God's Word to cope with my confusion and grief.

And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning... 1 CHRONICLES 17:9

PLANTED IN PERFECT TIMING I took comfort in these promises and heard God telling me to wait and trust Him. Instead of orchestrating events on my own, He instructed me to rest in Him as He worked on my behalf.

A year into this job has taught me that the journey of faith is not over. When I am met with new challenges, I recall God’s amazing provision and am reminded of His great deliverance in the storms of life. All we need to do is be still in His presence – in the eye of the storm – and allow God to perform miracles on our behalf.

I never expected how God was about to intervene. Five days after I lost my job, I learned that a similar role had opened in another multinational company. The talent acquisition partner was from my ex-company who was temporarily overseeing the hiring of this role, and she was able to present my application to the hiring managers.

ISSUE 1

God truly works behind the scenes even when we do not see it and may feel doubtful about obeying His promptings. In my case, it did not make logical sense to give up the previous job offer, but now I understand it was God’s divine plan for me to be where I am today.

As I awaited the outcome, I held onto the truth that God would hold my hand and plant me in the right place.

He will not forsake us during our trials. In this COVID-19 season, He will provide abundantly for His people as we put our trust in Him. He will answer our cries.

Seven being God’s number of perfection, I was in awe that within the course of 49 days, (7x7) in God's perfect timing, I received a job offer with a better remuneration package than my previous job. This did not happen by my own strength or power, but by the incredible grace of God!

When life does not make sense, God's promises will guide us through the tsunamis of life in peace and confidence. The Jehovah of Yesterday is the same Today and Tomorrow. Even when the valleys are deep and the mountains unconquerable, God will lift us up. Indeed, He is our promise keeper and will not let us perish. All glory to God!

or more than two years, COVID-19 restrictions have prevented missionssending nations to send teams. Many churches had to pivot from in-person to online. Pastors and ministers had to put in so much more to bridge the digital gap and connect through screens. While it’s been an uphill climb, it’s not yet time for us to slow down. More people are in need and we need to meet those needs not in our own strength, but with God’s divine provision.

Don’t give up! Don’t stop praying, giving, and going. Yes, there’s a virus, but there are souls heading toward eternal condemnation. All that we see around us shouldn’t take us by surprise. It’s written in the Bible. It’s been foretold. There will be earthquake and natural disasters (Matt 24:7; Luke 21:11); wars, rumors of war, violence and lawlessness (Matt 24:6, Luke 21:9-10); drought and famine (Matt 24:7; Luke 21:11); and pestilence and diseases (Rev 6:8). People will hear what they want to hear (2 Tim 3:1-5), and many will fall away (Matt 24:10: 1 Tim 4:1). God is returning soon and souls are there to be won. When Jesus ascended to Heaven, the whistle for the end of time began. We are now waiting for heaven to blow the

The time is fast approaching where the Church of Jesus Christ needs to stand tall in the midst of famines, natural disasters, pestilences, pandemics, wars, and rumors of wars. These are signs of end times and we the Church must shine the hope and life of Christ and not cower in fear!

light needs to be OUT THERE in the dark for it to shine. There is great darkness around us. There are so many missions opportunities that COVID-19 has opened. Project Rescue alone received an avalanche of girls and children with the pandemic shutting down red light districts. There are new opportunities for business in missions as people need livelihoods. Destitute children need shelter (physically, mentally, socially, spiritually). COVID-19 has robbed families of loved ones, and there is just so much more that we can do as a Church. Travel lanes will reopen. And when they do, will you be ready to Go – and make disciples of all nations?

TRINITY@BANGKOK REGIONAL CENTER Trinity@Bangkok continues to grow steadily. Almost half of our congregation consisted of expats. Due to COVID-19, when borders opened sporadically, they flew back to their home countries. In a short span, our congregation shrunk. Yet in 2021, the size of the congregation was restored to pre-COVID-19 days and now the congregation is almost made up entirely of local Thais. Joining us were many first time believers and those who have not attended church for a long time. We thank God for providing workers. Pastor Kenny Sng and his family heard and obeyed the call of God to uproot from Singapore and move to Thailand to serve at Trinity@Bangkok. We believe God is positioning Trinity for greater growth in Bangkok and other cities in Thailand.

TRINITY@JAKARTA REGIONAL CENTER Trinity@Jakarta rises to serve and grow the community.

ISSUE 1

Even though Services and Connect Groups went online due to COVID-19, nothing could stop the congregation from encountering God. His presence was ushered into theirs and their families’ lives. We also thank God for raising a talented team to help in the recording and streaming of services.

TRINITY@MELBOURNE REGIONAL CENTER This baby church plant is unstoppable. Launched online in 2020 in the midst of a lockdown, the church continues to grow. To strengthen the Trinity@Melbourne community while borders were still closed,we started combined on-site services in Singapore for people who were yet to fly into Melbourne for work, studies, or just to join their family. God continues to build Trinity@Melbourne. We thanked God for calling His disciples into the harvest field. Pastor Janice Chng has relocated to Trinity@Melbourne as Center pastor together with Pastor Melanie Tan.

TRAINING AND CONSULTATION Trinitarians, thank you for releasing your pastors to equip, strengthen, and empower the nations. While our pastors did not need to travel with training conducted virtually, it has also made training harder without the convenience of face-to-face interaction. Nonetheless, we pressed onward in being heard across the video screens and technical hiccups. In 2021, we continued to provide Training and Consultations for many nations – Columbia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, USA, and Vietnam. Read about the breakthroughs and testimonies these trainings have enabled on pg 74.

LANGUAGE MINISTRIES The pandemic continues to add stress to many foreigners living in Singapore. A home away from home, Trinity continues to be a blessing to the Filipino, Indonesian, Japanese, and Thai communities through our language ministries. Through these vibrant spiritual families, many have experienced

life transformations and made decisions to follow Christ. Turn to pg 80 to read how different ones have strengthened their faith over the past year.

SPONSORSHIP OF CHILDREN Committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, Trinity continues to invest in the lives of the next generation by sponsoring destitute children in four countries – India, Indonesia, Spain, and Thailand. With the pandemic, laptops were crucial in enabling children to continue their studies. Through your financial support, these children have

opportunities to develop intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

SOCIAL JUSTICE With red-light districts shutting down because of the pandemic, thousands of women and children are being released from the brothels, and we have this window of opportunity to rescue them and bring God’s restoration of wholeness into their lives. Beyond victims, Project Rescue workers are also working tirelessly, and we have been tasked to minister to them. We partnered with Project Rescue India to have the opportunity to minister to them, every first Saturday of the month, at their services.

The service is conducted online across more than 95 Zoom rooms, with more than 1,000 congregants. Our Pastors and lay Ministry Leaders from Pastoral Training preached and ministered the Word of God faithfully. Read more on pg 68 how Project Rescue was able to extend its reach in 2021. Trinity’s involvement in social justice continues to grow to greater levels with Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo’s role as Chairman of the Commission on Sexual Exploitation, Slavery, and Trafficking. Through the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, Trinity networks across borders to address human trafficking around the world.

Be a Partner for Trinity’s Missions – Pray, Give, and Go! Trinitarians, thank you for giving your hands and heart to the missions field, both locally and abroad.

PRAY

In this Decade of Expansion, continue to be part of Trinity’s growing missions endeavors so that more lives can be touched and impacted for His glory.

DIVINE CONNECTIONS A N D FAV O R GOD’S HAND WAS UPON TRINITY@JAKARTA AS MUCH-NEEDED OXYGEN TANKS WERE SECURED TO HELP FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND OIKOS.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

Oxygen tanks are critical for survival for those badly affected by COVID-19. With a shortage of oxygen tanks across Indonesia, including hospitals, many are desperately sourcing them from elsewhere to help infected family members breathe as they nurse them at home.

We thank Trinity@Jakarta for greatly blessing our great grandmother. We were desperately looking for oxygen for her. Trinity@Jakarta loaned us a full oxygen tank and also gave us an oxygen tube, Personal Protection Equipment and vitamin C. Our family is so blessed and grateful to Trinity@Jakarta. YO L AN DA C.

ISSUE 1

Trinity@Jakarta, with their Care Pack Initiative in place, saw the dire need for oxygen tanks and resolved to do their part to acquire these tanks to help their community.

DIVINE CONNECTION On July 5, a request for contacts of oxygen tank suppliers was posted on social media by Jakarta-based Pastor Alana Mah, Center Pastor of Trinity@Jakarta. A Trinitarian in Singapore responded with a potential contact. What unfolded revealed the hand of God upon the situation, orchestrating circumstances and opportunities which paved the way for the eventual acquisition of the oxygen tanks.

enough stock for Trinity@Jakarta before they ran out. It was also purchased at a reasonable price without any significant mark-up given the limited supply and a competing order on hand. It coud only be the favor of God. As the oxygen tanks were in Medan, the cost of shipping to Jakarta was included in the price.

Barbara Cheng, who used to work in the aviation sector, had recently switched to the medical supplies industry. She is not active on social media but chanced upon Pastor Alana’s post at the opportune time. Even as I provided Ps Alana with the contact, I was not sure if they had oxygen tanks available, as most suppliers in Indonesia had run out. I just prayed and believed that God’s hand was upon the situation. What followed was a series of calls by Trinity@Jakarta to the supplier and a visit to Medan, where the oxygen tanks were, to confirm and verify the legitimacy of the supplier. This is because medical scams preying on the desperation of those in need are rampant. The supplier also requested for an official letter from the church verifying that the purchase of the oxygen tanks was going to help individuals in need and not for resale or profiteering.

FAVOR OF GOD An order for five tanks was made, and the supplier had just enough stock to meet the order. God’s hand was at work, preserving

ISSUE 1

63

Soon after the order was made and paid for, the supplier contacted the church to state that they would issue a refund because they managed to negotiate for a lower shipping cost since the shipment was to a church and to a single address. This is unheard of as there is no obligation on the supplier to do so. It was later revealed that the oxygen tank suppliers are Christians who operated their business with integrity. The favor of the Lord is unending! By God’s grace, the shipping and delivery of the oxygen tanks was smooth, and less than 10 days after Pastor Alana’s post, the oxygen tanks arrived safely at Trinity@Jakarta where they were made available for Trinitarians to loan free of charge for use by their family, friends, or oikos in need. God is in control and holding all things together. It is His divine orchestration of circumstances and connections, bringing believers in Christ together for His purpose and releasing favor upon favor on His people.

FINDING R E S T O R AT I O N I N GOD’S HOUSE KRIT LIMTRAKUL HAD NO ONE ELSE TO TURN TO UNTIL HIS FRIEND GLORIA INTRODUCED HIM TO TRINITY@BANGKOK. HE FOUND HIS LIFE TRANSFORMED BY CHRIST IN AN AMAZING WAY. Krit: In December 2019, I faced a serious relationship problem that left me feeling broken with no one to turn to. My friend from Singapore, Gloria, encouraged me to turn to Jesus and introduced me to Trinity@Bangkok. I decided to attend and experienced a warm welcome. When I started to share my struggles with Trinitarians, I was touched by their support though I was not a believer. This caused me to open my heart to Jesus. As I spoke to Jesus, I began to experience the Lord’s grace in every area of my life. I began to surrender my hurts and sadness to God, and He brought emotional healing in my life. I started to experience peace and joy. I could see God transforming me from the inside out!

Here, we are inspired to dream and live for God. We found a place to grow and serve Him together.

This change is real because my good friend recently told me that she sees I can forgive others now, and that’s because God first forgave me!

When I started following the Lord, I began to look at my life and problems differently. In the past, I distracted myself to avoid facing challenges, but now I know that I don’t need to be afraid. Prayer works. Though my problems may not go away immediately, God helps me to be an overcomer.

pool was built only three months ago. The hotel manager told us: “The pool was built for you!“

Because of God’s love upon my life, I felt a strong prompting to start serving the Lord and approached Pastor Steven Tay about this. I now sing on the worship team in Trinity@Bangkok. It is such an honor to lead people to worship our Savior, our living hope!

On December 12, 2021, I also officially became a church member with 10 others, and I want to thank God for giving me this family.

It’s clear that God is moving in Trinity@Bangkok. I see it as a place where more and more people, like me, will come to experience God’s peace, healing, and answered prayers.

2021 was a significant year for me. On November 21, I took a step of faith to declare that Jesus is my Savior and Lord by getting water baptized with five others.

I am proud to be a Trinitarian! Here, Jesus has restored my life and made me brand-new.

When Trinity@Bangkok prepared for the water baptism, we did not have a venue because the original location was unavailable. But God provided a hotel with a swimming pool near the church. What is even more amazing is that the swimming

THE RIGHT P L A C E AT THE RIGHT TIME JEREMY AND MICHELLE TAN HEARD GOD TELLING THEM TO LEAVE EVERYTHING BEHIND AND MOVE TO TRINITY@MELBOURNE. THEY NEVER IMAGINED WHAT GOD WOULD DO NEXT. Jeremy: I have been a Trinitarian for 23 years. As a student, I studied in Melbourne, Australia. When I graduated, I vividly remember God told me to return to Singapore. But He also said, “I will bring you back,“ for He had a purpose for me in Melbourne. I obeyed and came back to Singapore and my home church, Trinity. I continued to grow in God and served as a Worship Leader, Section Leader, and DEW (Divine Exchange and Wholeness) Ministry worker. I also got married to Michelle and God gave us a beautiful daughter, Kayla. In a blink of an eye, 12 years passed. The dream God gave to me of going back to Melbourne was swept under the carpet of life. Even when Pastor Dom announced The Decade of Expansion in 2017, I only envisioned my role in the local expansion of God’s kingdom in Singapore. When the launch of Trinity@Melbourne was announced in March 2020, there was

a stirring in my heart – as if God blew on the embers of my fading dream. Due to the pandemic, the borders were shut. Furthermore, Michelle and I had stable full-time jobs in Singapore. Moving to Australia meant leaving all stability behind. In short – it would be crazy. I brushed thoughts of moving back to Melbourne aside and didn’t think it was for us. But by the end of May 2021, the stirring in our hearts was undeniable. God kept telling Michelle and me, “It is time to move.“ As we sought the Lord, He gave me a vision. I saw Him standing in the future while I was standing in the present. He stood directly in front of me and said, “Come.“ That gave me the courage I needed to step out of the boat like Peter, Jesus’s disciple.. Michelle: When we decided to move, we decided that I would quit my job first and travel to Melbourne with Kayla and settle down. Once I found a job, Jeremy would quit his job and join us.

Jeremy: When Michelle first arrived in Melbourne in July 2021, our God of surprises sprang a grand surprise on me and told me NOT to stick to the original plan. Instead, He wanted me to take a leap of faith, quit my job, and join Michelle and Kayla! During this time, Melbourne was in lockdown. Jobs were hard to come by. But I wanted to obey the Lord. I secured air tickets and informed my employer in Singapore that I was going to quit. When my boss heard the news, she approached our company’s branch in Melbourne to secure a six-month contract role for me to ease my transition to Australia! I was amazed – but God’s provision didn’t stop there. The day I arrived in Melbourne was the day Michelle received a job offer and would start the following Monday. The amazing part was that she didn’t even apply for the position. Yet in the middle of a lockdown, a job came and found her! Michelle: God has continued to astound us with His grace. When we were looking for a school for our daughter Kayla, we found a Christian school that we really liked. Despite having no vacancy for new students, the school created a new space just for Kayla! Then we started looking for rental properties. The market is very competitive, especially in Melbourne’s suburbs. There were 10 applicants for a rental we desired. But God’s favor was upon us and the landlord chose us.

ISSUE 1

Jeremy: The final thing we needed was a car, but due to the semiconductor shortage worldwide, the average wait time for a car was six to eight months. Yet when we went to a nearby car dealership, we were told we only needed to wait for three weeks to get the new car we wanted, in the color we wanted – even though we didn’t mention this to the dealer! When God provides, He provides everything. Even though we had left our stable jobs in Singapore, God gave us an increase in our total monthly income here in Australia. God is truly the one who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than all we could ask or imagine. Michelle: I believe God has placed us in Trinity@Melbourne for a purpose. I’m now leading a Connect Group, and Jeremy is serving wherever he is needed. It’s very exciting to see God calling us for such a time as this. Jeremy: Right from the very beginning, God saw the Decade of Expansion down the line and destined us to be part of His plans at Trinity@Melbourne, even in the middle of COVID-19. His divine provision and guidance for our lives is astounding.

PROJECT RESCUE

HOPE U N S T O P PAB L E BY J ES S IE C HEW

THOUGH COVID-19 THREATENED TO SLOW DOWN ITS MINISTRY TO SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION, GOD’S PROVISION MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR PROJECT RESCUE TO EXPAND ITS REACH LIKE NEVER BEFORE.

Since its inception in 1997, Project Rescue has worked tirelessly to restore hope to survivors of sexual exploitation. From operating safe homes for women to nurturing the next generation in children’s homes, their multinational ministry has changed the trajectory of hundreds of thousands of lives over their multi-decade ministry. Project Rescue is a story of the Lord’s redemption. Our goal is the make His name and His power known to the world. KK Devaraj

Co-Founder and Coordinator for India

But like so much in our world, the ministry also felt the impact of COVID-19. ”When the pandemic intensified in early 2020, we started seeing donors and

donations pulling back. We were prepared for significant budget cuts. My biggest fear was not being able to provide for those who needed it,” shared Jonathan Barrett, Project Rescue’s Chief Operating Officer. Yet only God could use COVID-19 to be a force for good. For when the world stopped, the hope of God was unstoppable. As the pandemic spread, brothel customers started staying away from the red-light districts, fearful of catching the virus. And with the huge loss of income, traffickers began releasing the women and children they were exploiting. With no prospects, no money, and no food, the situation looked dire for these women and children However, Project Rescue was ready to provide them with fresh hope. Ministries that had been there for years suddenly saw the opportunity to meet their needs. “COVID-19 is the single greatest ministry opportunity I’ve seen in my entire life,” said Pastor Rajnesh, a ministry partner in South Asia. “It is a friend to us because the red-light districts were closing down. What we could do in the next six months is more than we can ever do in the next 10 years.” Unfazed by their financial situation, the ministry reached out to their core supporters for help. “This is a God moment, and we will not miss this moment,” declared Project Rescue’s Co-Founder Beth Grant. One of these calls was to Trinity.

For over 13 years, the church has partnered with Project Rescue on various initiatives: providing DEW workers to Spain for inner healing, sending Missions Impact Trips (MITs) to children’s homes in India, and providing financial support. But with travel restrictions and safe distancing, the church was quick to pivot its support during COVID-19. Virtual events such as e-MITs were streamed into the children’s homes. Caregivers were equipped through online workshops. COVID-19 will not stop what we want to do for the Kingdom of God. COVID-19 will not stop what God wants to do for His people. Project Rescue will continue its call to rescue, restore, and release people into the community. And Trinity will continue our calling of being ‘blessed to be a blessing.’ Pastor Allen Loh, Director of Missions, Trinity Christian Centre

With the expansion in ministry opportunities came an expansion in provision. “We never got to a place where we had to make budget cuts,” Jonathan shared, “so you can imagine the surprise of our directors on the ground when we called to inform them that we would instead be sending significant additional funding for COVID-19 relief and intervention.” In 2020 alone, Project Rescue’s partnership with Trinity and other organizations has

The ministry is already preparing for life after COVID-19. “Currently, our model is to raise money in the US and send it to various countries,” Jonathan explained, “But over the years, we are starting to see Project Rescue in a ‘business as missions’ light. During COVID-19, some of the more mature ministries started to consider initiatives such as agriculture, large-scale sewing operations, and product creation. “With the help of churches like Trinity, we can create partnerships to sell those products and to create sustainability, because what keeps these women from going back to sex work is to have a means, a business, an occupation that will provide a sustainable living for their family. “We’re very excited for the potential, not only for what it could mean for sustainability but what it could mean for the dignity of those we serve, to ultimately have them find their God-given potential and purpose.” “We’re so grateful for what Trinity and Trinitarians have done for Project Rescue and the communities we are working with – not just in the past 18 months but over the past decade,” shared KK Devaraj, “Trinity has helped launch Project Rescue into new levels

TRINITY’S TRAINING AND CONSULTATION

E S TA B L I S H I N G GOD’S WORK AMID LOCKDOWNS AND T R AV E L R E S T R I C T I O N S working together as a small group. They are committed to implement what they have learnt.

OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS, COVID-19 HAS IMPACTED MANY CHURCHES. THE MINISTRY PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC WAS TO GO TO THE NATIONS AND CHURCHES TO CONDUCT FACE-TO-FACE TRAINING AND CONSULTATION TO DISCIPLE AND EQUIP LEADERS.

The district of Saigon has a small group model in place. Many are going through tough times because of COVID-19. Many people are dying and some are starving. Our small groups have gone out of the way to do care acts and care witness, raising funds to help buy rice and basic needs. The people were grateful when they received these necessities, and their hearts were touched as well as they listened to the gospel and received Christ into their lives.

As the coronavirus reared its head, we experienced lockdowns and travel restrictions. The situation may seem limiting with borders closed and infections escalating. Some may think that missions can’t happen. But with creative ways, God’s work can still be established. Trinitarians, thank you for your heart for missions and your partnership in giving, going, praying, and releasing your pastors for training and consultation work.

On behalf of leadership in AG Vietnam. We are very thankful to Trinity and the wonderful trainers, Pastor Christina Onn, Pastor Margaret Tay, and Pastor Steven Tay for walking with AG Vietnam since 2013. We are blessed to have your help and partnership in working alongside us.

Previously, most leaders work alone. Now with the small group model, many more members are equipped, and we see the benefits of working together in a team. They are eager in building relationships and

When COVID-19 hit, we were limited by what we could do and felt helpless.Russia But with Trinity’s eMIT (Missions Impact Teams), it has broadened our view and thinking, and helped us to develop more creative strategies for missions’ work. Nothing can limit God’s work when we open our hearts. We can still harvest souls. The Fun with English program is a successful evangelism platform. There are many unreached people groups in Indonesia, and this is a good opportunity to draw them in. At the end of one such training, about six people raised their hands to receive Jesus Christ. I believe there were others who did not raise their hand but had felt the touch of God.

“COVID-19 times are tough times. As a pastor, there was a week I had to bury four members from the same household. Pastoring in a pandemic is not something we have a manual for. We appreciate Trinity, Pastor Dominic Yeo, and Pastor Allen Loh. You guys came together online to help us and provide guidance, saving us a lot of pain, and that has allowed us to move faster. One of the breakthroughs we had was training 2,000 leaders – online! Together, we were successful inColombia training leaders and spiritual parents. We have a church of 60,000, and in our Latino culture, the relational part of reaching out to people comes naturally. But the planning part of leading small groups and discipleship does not come naturally. Your small group model and structure have taught us how to plant and we are starting to see the fruits. Our people are so blessed with the relational part of development and discipleship. COVID-19 may still be here, but the faith community is very much alive! We are evangelizing, we are connecting. We are stronger as a church and shining brighter as God’s lighthouse in this time. Thank you, Trinity.

COVID-19 and travel restrictions will not stop the work of God. We are grateful for Trinity’s partnership and support. You’ve also taken time to train our leaders and staff over Zoom. These meetings not only empowered them, but refreshed them to continue running the race, mobilizing their members to pray for the people and the ministry. Thank you for touching many lives and raising leaders.

DRIVEN BY DESIRE, PROPELLED BY FAI T H B Y SA RA S A P A N , M A ST ER OF DIV IN IT Y, 20 0 5

EQUIPPED AT TCA, SARA SAPAN STARTED CHURCH PLANTING, CHILDREN EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS, AND MANY CAME TO KNOW JESUS THROUGH OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE THE GOSPEL. I'm Sara Sapan. I graduated from the Master of Divinity program at TCA College in 2005. I thank God for equipping me all these years and the masters program which helped prepare me for the ministry ahead. After graduation, I returned to Indonesia and saw many needs there. God has put in my heart "a mission" to help those needy people and show them the way to Jesus. I prayed for God’s provision and started work by faith. My team and I started a Bible School “STT Injil Bhakti Caraka” (STT IBC) in Batam in May 2005. It has a two-year program to train and equip church planters. We only had four students in May 2005.

With God’s help, we started a Bachelor of Theology program and got the official permit from from the Indonesian government in 2013. In December 2018, we received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education of Indonesia. All students who graduate from STT IBC will have a certificate that is nationally certified. We now have about 75 students each year. Since 2006, we have supported the education of around 700 children. The vision to help children to get an education started when we realized they could not read the Bible as they were illiterate. Their parents could not afford the school fees. We believe the best way to break the cycle of poverty is through education. We started by going to the slums and give free tuition to the children. With God’s help and provision, we received support for the education of around 700 children since 2006 which includes school fees, transport, school uniform and stationery.

Also, since 2005, we have planted 14 churches in Indonesia. The first church we started in 2005 in Batam now has a weekly attendance of about 500 people. After our students finish their education at STT IBC, they are sent to plant churches in various regions in Indonesia. We provide them with living expenses and pastoral care. We also carried out church planting work in Batam, Tanjung Uban - Bintan, Tanjung Pinang, Karimun Island, Pekanbaru, Toraja – South Sulawesi, Jogjakarta, Papua, East Kalimantan.

Through it all, we had the opportunity to share the gospel with the people for it is through Jesus that they will be saved. I thank God that He has been preparing workers like me and the others to do His work here on earth.

We have also done other humanitarian works like feeding programs for children,

STRENGTHENING MINDS THE BRAIN GYM PROGRAM INCREASES THE VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES FOR ITS CLIENTS DURING THE PANDEMIC AND HELPS TO MAINTAIN PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE STIMULATION OF PARTICIPANTS.

Care Community Services Society’s CareLibrary launched Brain Gym in August 2021. CareLibrary is a cognitive wellness program designed for seniors with, or at risk of cognitive impairment, sometimes known as dementia. Brain Gym incorporates music to enhance physical fitness, hand-eye coordination, and mentally stimulating movements to improve focus and attention. It can be conducted online or onsite, in a group or one to one by trained dementia care staff. adversely affected participants of CareLibrary. Being in the vulnerable age group, they are often compelled to stay home. Besides worksheets provided by CareLibrary for cognitive stimulation, Brain Gym is offered to keep participants physically engaged. “We introduced Brain Gym to aid our participants in staying fit physically and connected cognitively and socially,” said Cheryl Han, Director of Program, CareLibrary. She added, “We aim to slow down the cognitive and functional decline of our participants by maintaining therapeutic interactions despite the pandemic.”

This new program has garnered positive feedback from many caregivers who have enrolled their loved ones for the activity. Husband and caregiver Ngiam Tong Yuen said, “My wife enjoys the program, and her physiotherapist has commended her for the improvement in her physical fitness.” In the past 23 months, CareLibrary had to manage multiple closures of its center to abide with changing safe management regulations. This new program allows staff to adapt to the new normal while maintaining physical and cognitive stimulation for their participants.

MISSIONS AT O U R DOORSTEP

COVID-19 has brought on many challenges and needs to non-locals amongst us. Through our language ministries, individuals and families in need of support and encouragement were connected to their native language community. This provided an opportunity for them to hear the Gospel and develop their relationship with God in their community.

FILIPINO MINISTRY

– MORE THAN CONQUERORS When the church moved online due to COVID-19 restrictions, many questions arose on how to continue with the Filipino Service. As we prayed, many working professionals who are IT savvy rose to the challenge. With training from the church, collaborative efforts, and knowledge of the volunteers, we were able to have our own Filipino Ministry Service online via YouTube.

CARING, CONNECTING AND PRAYING

Last year, Mylene's husband became seriously ill after contracting COVID-19 in the Philippines. Everyone prayed intensely for him, and despite the lack of oxygen supply, he miraculously survived. After days of prayer and intercession, he recovered and was discharged without complications.

COVID-19 DID NOT STOP EVANGELISTIC EFFORTS

It was a tough time for Mylene, but thank God for the support of the carecell and prayers of everyone. Her family overcame the challenging situation.

On October 17, we held The Father is Waiting, an evangelistic event that saw many testimonies of God’s miraculous healing, provision, and transformation. A total of 87 people attended, with 11 first-time visitors (FTVs). We praise God for three salvations and one re-dedication.

In another instance, when one of the families in a carecell was hit by COVID-19, the carecell members came together not just in prayer but talso took turns to send food and other necessities for the affected family for 10 days. The family was immensely grateful for the help, care, and support of the carecell.

In December, we organized hybrid Christmas parties. Members met at different houses and venues in the morning and went to church for service in the afternoon. Thank God for six FTVs and three salvations.

in faith during Pre-Service Prayer and as Maki-san put God first above all else, our Father God honored her faith. She shared in her own words: “I passed my test! It was the best grade I’ve ever received. I’m trembling as I recall your prayers. They have reached God and He has worked on my behalf.” Members have also experienced personal breakthroughs. Jesus completely healed the spouse of one of our carecell leaders, setting him free from prostate cancer!

– UNCEASING FRUITFULNESS When the Japanese Ministry returned on-site in 2021, we wanted to remain connected to those who were unable to come physically due to health reasons, those with young children, and those who are overseas. By God’s grace, we launched a Zoom session that streams our services live. Spiritual nurturing continued to take place over the year as Spiritual Parents met with new believers such as the Tobita family regularly on Zoom. The Tobitas experienced amazing blessings and growth in the Lord and are now preparing for water baptism in 2022. In the last quarter of 2021, four other congregants also committed to attending Trinity’s church membership classes.

As we celebrate victories together, we realized we are better together – deeply connected through our shared convictions, passion for God’s purpose, and Christ’s abundant love that transforms our lives and the world around us.

In October 2021, Maki-san was touched during a Japanese service and received Jesus into her life. Subsequently, she felt challenged to put her faith to the test by attending church regularly despite being preoccupied with preparation for a work-related exam. We rallied around her

CHINESE MINISTRY

– GOD’S MESSENGERS OF LOVE Amid the pandemic, God has paved the way for the Chinese Ministry to be God’s messengers of love, life, and blessings through evangelistic events. Despite restrictions, the members were excited to connect with friends and family, and share the gospel with them. Loo May Ling, a Chinese Ministry Leader, shared how excited she was to invite her friend to the Chinese Ministry’s short film, Crossing Over.

During the event, Christina was very open and felt the joy and unity among the members. Through the short film, she was touched by the love of God and decided to rededicate her life to God.

Upon receiving the invitation flyer, she prayed and asked God to show her whom she could invite, and God showed her Christina. They met at a baking class. Christina is a Christian but had not been attending church due to work. May Ling encouraged her to attend online services, and knew that God has paved the way, so she plucked up her courage to invite her. Christina hesitated but said she will consider.

Ye Xia Selina, a Chinese Ministry Leader, testified how the Holy Spirit prompted and led her and her cell to witness the salvation of her carecell member’s (Stephanie) uncle, Zhi Qiang. Zhi Qiang has been unemployed for four to five years and would not greet the members during carecell meetings. The carecell came together to pray and declare with God nothing is impossible.

May Ling pressed on in prayer for open doors and recalled a pastor had shared that we need to be bold in sharing the gospel. One week before the event, she decided to invite her again, and this time she accepted the invitation because she could not reject her for the second time.

God miraculously provided him with a job, and he became more open and would greet the members during the meetings. At this point, Zhi Qiang was still a pre-believer. During one of the prayer times, Ye Xia saw a vision of Zhi Qiang worshipping God with a joy. She invited him for cell lunch but was disappointed as he did not turn up. The Holy Spirit prompted Ye Xia and she heard a voice saying “Go to Zhi Qiang’s house.” Without any hesitation, she visited him with Stephanie and a brother in Christ. Zhi Qiang was at home and they chatted and shared the gospel with him. That day, he received salvation. All glory to God!

INDONESIA MINISTRY

– PRESSING ONWARD IN PRAYER In the early stage of the circuit breaker, as a leader, I could not meet my carecell members face-to-face. In fact, we had no carecell meetings for about one month. I tried many ways to conduct virtual meetings using platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Google Duo. I was worried I could not look after the sheep that God had entrusted to me. It was not easy to do follow-up when we are not able to meet each other.

Day by day, more of my carecell members started to join our prayer meeting. We also invited our friends in Singapore to join us. They did, and even who’s living in Sarawak, Malaysia too. Many of our friends were touched when we prayed for and together with them. During this pandemic, a few of my members have lost their family members or had fallen sick but they could not return to their hometown. So, as a spiritual family we did a video call and prayed for them.

One day, during a leaders meetings, Pastor Joanna Teoh said, “We have to bring all of Trinity's Indonesia Ministry and carecell agendas before the Lord. We must pray for it.” Then I started to pray to God and ask Him to open ways for my carecell to have a fellowship again. A few days later, two of my members contacted me. They wanted to have an online prayer meeting. Of course I happily said “Yes”. The three of us started to pray together at night using the COVID-19 prayer pointers.

Invite your friends to experience our vibrant language ministries at Trinity@Paya Lebar!

When on-site services resumed, we eagerly invited our friends to attend and some of them are attending service regularly now. We praise God because one of them even got baptized in September 2021. Jeliana Jool, Carecell Leader

Screening of Crossing Over at Cathay Cineplex in West Mall

CHINESE MINISTRY’S FIRST SHORT FILM, CROSSING OVER (过去。未来), IS A REALISTIC LOOK INTO A TURBULENT MARRIAGE IN NEED OF RESTORATION AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. The Chinese Ministry had a vision of inspiring hope among Chinese-speaking audiences with

their first short film, Crossing Over (过去。未来). "When I first met with the Chinese Ministry’s leadership, we prayed and felt that marriage should be the topic of the script. With divorce being a reality for many today, Pastor Christina Onn (In-Charge of Chinese Ministry) wanted the film to bring the hope of Christ to hurting families,” said Loh Eng Leong, co-screenwriter of Crossing Over. He spent three months writing the script with Tan Ai Ling, a Trinitarian whose background in film directing and production proved to be of tremendous help.

Together, they were determined to write something that was not cliché but convicting. “Typically, movies about marital breakdown portray one spouse to be at fault. But marriage is more nuanced than that. This led us on a journey to explore character arcs that showed marital strife from both the husband’s and the wife’s perspective. “The bottom line was: What are the common root problems poisoning marriages today, and how can God help couples overcome these issues?” shared Eng Leong. When Eng Leong and Ai Ling finished co-writing the script, we began casting for the film. “I invited Singaporean actor Peter Yu to act in this film, and even though he had three other movies waiting for him, he accommodated us,” shared Pastor Christina Onn. “Evelyn Tan, another wonderful local talent, was captivated by our film’s plot and agreed to act as Peter’s wife (in the film),

even though she’s a mother of four children with a full schedule. God gave us great favor. The rest of our actors were Trinitarians, myself included. If you don’t think pastors can act, think again (laughs)”!

A BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE After nine months of praying, planning, and production, the Chinese Ministry and Trinity Broadcast jointly showcased Crossing Over (过去。未来). About 1,200 watched the short film on December 11 and 12, 2021, with two film showings at Cathay Cineplex in West Mall (location of Trinity@Bukit Batok). “The story moved the audience, and we thank God for allowing our film to be played in cinemas, just as we had envisioned.

There were also more than 180 first-time visitors and 42 salvations! Thank God for all the partnerships that made this happen,” said Sister Mabel Yeong, Ministerial Staff. In the film, Peter (played by Peter Yu) is plagued with doubts about his wife and himself. As the man of the house, Peter felt he was not an adequate provider and struggled with comparison. Meanwhile, his wife Evelyn (played by Evelyn Tan) could not forgive herself for being unfaithful to Peter in the past and blamed herself for causing pain to her spouse and son. At the brink of divorce, Peter and Evelyn finally reconcile when they receive a revelation of Christ’s unconditional love. Anna, a Trinitarian, had been inviting an elderly group of friends to church for a few years. They agreed to come watch Crossing Over when they heard the film was in Mandarin, and two women in the group received Christ.

they watched the screening of a short film. As they laughed and cheered at the silly antics of Fruitasia’s citizenry, they came to learn the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of God’s forgiveness. Most of all, they learned that Christmas Day is the celebration of the birth of Christ Jesus. Little hands arose in faith across each room as everyone was given the opportunity to believe in Jesus at the event’s closure. Sixty-five children came to accept Jesus as their Savior. That’s truly the best Christmas gift we could ask for.

Sophie Ong, 11 years I learned that Jesus forgives me whenever I sin and that Jesus went through the same things as us, so He understands me. I enjoyed learning about Jesus and also watching the movie. It was really cute, and I could see the effort that was put into it.

Jedidiah, 8 years I enjoyed watching the movie and learned that Jesus came to this world to save us. Moo Jin, 7 years I learned that Christmas is about Jesus’ birth. I also learned that God hates sin. God forgives us, so I will forgive others.

of the house.” He encouraged all members to attend services on-site as much as possible. And the response from the unvaccinated was one of gratitude. “We appreciate the opportunity that Trinity has created for us to attend worship service on-site,” said Amy.

The surprising announcement of an additional service for the unvaccinated starting Friday (January 14) at 8pm was met with enthusiastic applause. This weeknight service, which replaces Fabulous Friday services, does not have concurrent DiscoveryLand classes.

The unvaccinated service caters to families with young children. DiscoveryLand classes run concurrently for ages four to 12. So, while parents attend service, kids get to enjoy their own service too. A number of first-time visitors were so delighted to find a church where the unvaccinated could go to worship. A couple was so excited that they made their way to service after being told about it just 25 minutes before service began.

Our vaccination status doesn’t define us. As a child of God, nothing can separate us from the love of God. We are thankful that on-site services are within reach for all believers, regardless of vaccination status.

“While there are no simple answers to the uncertainties of the present situation, we can still trust God who holds the future,” said Deputy Lead Pastor Gerald Tan at the inaugural service. He assured the congregation that the church is doing everything possible to support their faith.

M EETI NG G OD FACE TO FACE DEDICATION SERVICE

O

BY JA N I CE N G

ON JANUARY 7, TRINITARIANS WERE UNDETERRED BY THE INCLEMENT WEATHER AS THEY GATHERED TO DEDICATE THE NEW YEAR UNTO GOD.

ne week following Watchnight service, Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo led Trinitarians in the Dedication of 2022.

Pastor Dominic exhorted us to unclutter our lives and get ready for an encounter with God: When God encounters us, we are positioned to be restored for His purposes. Sharing from Genesis 32:24-30, he zeroed in on a pivotal moment in the life of Jacob. Jacob was alone during one of the darkest seasons of his life when he met God face to face. In the stillness of the night, • God’s voice is the loudest • God’s touch is the most tangible • God’s light is the brightest Raymond Loh, Lecturer and Spiritual Parent (XCel Connect Group) said, “My takeaway is to set aside every distraction to focus, commune, and seek after God. I can establish my very own ‘tent’ to meet with God and speak with Him as a friend. This will be a sacrifice of worship unto Him.”

Mary Nelson, a homemaker, was challenged to hold on to God’s promise of restoration at Dedication Service. She testifies: “At the time, my left knee was swollen and painful. My meniscus was torn due to a fall. I could not get up or walk without assistance. My doctor said that the only cure was a knee replacement. Pastor Dominic continued to expound that the requisites for restoration are a tenacious hunger and an admission of our weakness and character. Jacob was aware of his personal flaws (even his name means ‘supplanter’ in Hebrew); yet he wrestled with God until daybreak, asking to receive God’s blessing.

“When Pastor Dom assured us in his sermon to focus on God’s restoration, I was so open to God’s move in my life and prayed together with Pastor Phebe. “After a few minutes, I sensed the Holy Spirit prompting me to stand up. By faith, I stood up and walked around with no assistance.

In response, God told Jacob, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” (Genesis 32:28). Israel’s new name in Hebrew refers to a triumphant, princely champion.

“There was a burning sensation in my left knee. The swelling was completely gone! Now, I can do things with both knees that I could not do in the past. God gave me two brand-new knees!” God's restorative power is on the move. As we leave behind the things striving for our attention and come before Jesus with all our weaknesses, we can encounter Him intimately the same way Jacob did – and meet God face-to-face.

God’s spoken word set into motion Jacob’s new destiny. Therefore, our word and confession should be in line with God’s, opening the door for God’s touch and the release of His wonderful restoration. Despite the pain of a broken hip during the encounter, Jacob held on for a full restoration. “I will not let you go unless you bless me,” he told the Lord (Genesis 32:26). God listened to Jacob and made him (Israel) into a great nation.
