What’s New

Uncle Milton Super-Sizes Fun

U

ncle Milton will expand the Dino X Team brand this year with the Skeletal Slime Chamber. Kids can extract dinosaur bones out of a slimy green preservation gel and then build the bones into a complete dinosaur skeleton replica. Once their dinos are complete, kids can put them back into the slime chamber for display on a light-up base. Kids can collect and display three different dinosaurs. The new Super Moon In My Room is more than 35 percent larger than the original Moon In My Room and it automatically matches the light of the real moon outside. Super Moon In My Room also has a special solar eclipse light effect and includes soothing nighttime sounds and sound bytes from the original moon landing. Kids can manually set the moon to 12 different lunar phases using the included remote control. Scare Factor is a brand that lets everyone in on the fun of scaring friends and family. Gross-out Slime Labs and a fun Scare Projector with which to tell scary stories will bring kids creepy fun. Each product in the line features a “scare meter” on the packaging, rating each toy from “Scary,” to “Hideous,” to “Ahhhhh!”

Spin Master Kicks into Spy Gear

S

pin Master’s Spy Gear line gains three new items this fall, including the Spy Gear Snake Cam, which lets kids see around corners and underneath doors, and Spy Gear Ultimate Night Vision, which enables navigation in pitch-black conditions and sight for up to 50 feet away, thanks to infrared technology that creates an invisible stealth beam. Users can switch between short- and long-range vision modes. With the press of a button, the Spy Gear Video Walkie Talkies can wirelessly communicate with both video and audio for up to 160 feet, no Wi-Fi or 3G mobile network required. The walkie talkies have a foldable design that allows for compact storage and screen protection. Spin Master will introduce a new character to its Flutterbye Fairies line, Flutterbye Fairy Princess. The figure arrives dressed for a celebratory ball, and glides across the air, guided along by kids’ hands. Arriving this fall, Flutterbye Fairy Princess comes with a USB charger and a base. Another addition to the line is the Flutterbye Unicorn, who leads the way to the ball. Kids can magically fly this unicorn, which comes with a charging base, with their hands. DigiBirds are full of animated movements, and can tweet and sing on command. Blowing into the included Whistle Ring activates their songs, and collecting and synching together multiple birds results in a choir that harmonizes as they sing. DigiBirds now come in new styles—DigiChicks, DigiPenguins, and DigiOwls—and each bird type is available in multiple designs. A downloadable app unlocks more songs.
