Vehicles & Action Figures Mattel Gets Its Wheels Rolling
T
he Hot Wheels Ultimate Auto Garage, from Mattel, is packed with action and adventure for kids ages 4 and up. There are more than 35 parking spaces available for kids to store their collections, and the set includes five Hot Wheels vehicles and a helicopter. Designed for kids ages 3 and up, the Matchbox Elite Rescue Chopper offers realistic chopper rescue play. The chopper has responsive helicopter sounds and spinning rotors, it shoots projectiles such as hydro missiles, it stores and launches cars, and it picks up vehicles with its claws. Kids can transport their smaller vehicles by hooking them on and bringing them to hard-to-reach locations to complete the challenging tasks at hand.
Pikachu, Tomy Chooses You
T
omy International will expand its Pokémon line this year with Ash’s Arena Challenge. Kids can turn Ash’s hat backward to get him battle-ready and send Pikachu into action. The buttons on the arena activate Pikachu’s Quick Attack, Thunderbolt, and Iron Tail to take down any opponent. These three actions also activate music, voice, and attack sounds for realistic battle play. The set includes articulated Ash, Pikachu, and Wobbuffet figures and is designed for kids ages 4 and up. Tomy plans to expand the John Deere Gear Force and Monster Treads brands, and will introduce Mighty Movers, a new line of action vehicle launchers and play sets. John Deere Monster Treads Lightning Wheels features tires with LED lights. Chuggington StackTrack High Speed Rescue Motorized Playset When kids spin the wheels, they can see lightning wheel action. The John Deere Gear Force Mega Scoop Tractor is a tractor featuring multi-purpose mega scoop arms, lights, and motion-activated sounds. John Deere Mighty Movers Bullpen Escape challenges kids with launching, skillful, and crashing play. Kids propel the tractor under the bull, and crash through the hay bales without going off-course. Tomy’s Chuggington StackTrack line features new play sets based on the new season of Chuggington. The High Speed Rescue Motorized Playset features an engine-powered turntable and a motorized Wilson engine that climbs and races fast. The Drop & Load Dash Motorized Playset is based on the Delivery Dash at the Docks TV special airing this fall. The play set features an enginepowered crane that moves up and down, and it includes a motorized Koko engine that triggers additional climbing and racing actions. Ash’s Arena Challenge Additionally, Tomy is the global master toy licensee for the upcoming Disney•Pixar film The Good Dinosaur, set for release in the fall. Tomy will produce a full range of toys designed to capture the unique personalities of the film’s characters, including figures in multiple sizes, feature plush, interactive toys, role-play items, bath toys, and more.
